Liquid meds are effective, too after bypass. I switched from time release, to regular pills 3 times a day, and STILL had a problem absorbing the med. Had to switch to liquid.

I had gastric bypass and took 4 weeks off from work. Like others have said, I was very tired. I would definitely wait until summer and not rush it. Good luck!!

I use Hall's sugar free cough drops with no GI upset. I had RNY by the way. I would not try the ones with sugar!

My insurance won't pay for it either! Just RNY and sleeve.

I had bypass because I had GERD and my surgeon wouldn't do tge sleeve. No GERD now. 8 months post bypass and have never dumped, but I am very strict with my sugar intake. I'm not sick all the time either. If you even have mild GERD the sleeve has the potential to make it worse. Good luck whichever you choose.

I would crush mine and mix in unsweetened applesauce per my doctor. Still tasts a little bitter, but not bad.

I also use Baritastic and like that it is geared towards WLS people. Very easy to use.

Well, Hi! I'm not sure if I've seen any of your posts, but I'm sorry you feel it is difficult to make friends on here! If you write posts with questions you're likely to get a lot of responses. For the most part people are super helpful. I agree with another poster that people tend to post a lot before surgery. I'm 8 months post gastric bypass and whole I still post, it is not as frequent as before or right after surgery. I wouldn't say I've made any friends, but there is a core group of regular posters which are always willing to share and offer advice. Keep on posting!![emoji5]

Your nails are so pretty! Is dip your favorite? Are you worried about the UV exposure with the lamp when you do gel over them?

Lol! No, not a faux nail, or like the old acrylic nails. It is an acrylic powder that you "dip" your nails into and it sticks to a base coat you apply first. You repeat the procedure 4 times. I used clear powder, 2 dips of colored powder, then clear powder again. The end result though, looks exactly like the old acrylic nails. Kinda thick.

Hi, KarenLR75! Yes, I tried the powder dip nails at home...2 days later I had to soak them iff because the layers of acrylic "popped" off one nail leaving it bare! I tried to open the bottles to reapply to kust one nail, and they were sealed shut and impossible to open! My nails aren't damaged from the powder dip because I soaked for an hour in acetone and didn't try to pry the acrylic off. If I do it again, I will have it professionally done! I loved how durable and "protected" my nails felt when I had it on.

I, too, have developed thin, peeling fingernails and I take 1000-1500 mg of calcium a day, so I don't think it is a calcium deficiency. I'm almost 8 months out, and first noticed this a few months ago. I got so fed up with my nails, I posted on here and got some great advice about powder dip nails. I wish you the best!

I agree. I had a severe stricture that required 6 dilations! Took months to resolve. I don't think they can resolve on their own. Don't regret your surgery, this is just a small setback! If you can't keep water diwn you could fet dehydrated, so press your surgeon to do something. Good luck!!

I use Bariatric Advantage chewables and actually like the taste! Shop around til you find a brand that doesn't make you nauseous.

Sorry you have to wait an extra 3 months! I, too, had a 6 month nutrition requirement. The time doesn't really drag, because there are other requirements too. In the whole scope of life, these extra 3 months won't teally matter much, but I know you're disappointed. Hang in there.

It sounds like a stomach bug, and nothing related to the yogurt! Feel better.

From the previous poster...benefiber is only Prebiotic and is what dextrin. I take Benefiber Healthy Balance, and it does not contain Dextrin, like plain Benefiber. I can't recall now what's in it, but not Dextrin. Anyway, I hope you find some fiber supplements that agree with you! I'm prone to severe constipation so I also take Dulcolax stool softener twice a day.

Soma, if you have one near you. Their bras are expensive but they do good fittings. I had no idea I was wearing a bra that was sooo far off what I should be wearing!!!

My team recommends Benefiber, and says that Metamucil and Citrucel add too much bulk. !! There is a generic equivalent that is not as expensive.

I was asking about that because I recently took Dayquil and swesr that one of the pills got stuck in the opening between my pouch and intestines! I had pain for about an hour. I'm going to stick to liquid Nyquil.

Are you considering the Nyquil liquid or huge pills??
