    Mine looks a little worse every time I look in the mirror. Also, last weekend I tried on a pair of jeans that fit just fine at the waist when I was standing, but as soon as I sat down, I had two hideous-looking pouches above and below my pants! I'll be curious to see where I'm at come December 2019.

    After surgery i got Constipation and got hemeroids. I used the well known hemeroid creams, but they would just relieve the symptoms, i could still feel the bumps.
    I was using CBD cream for my knees, and just tried it for the hemeroids. Within 3 days they disappeared and all the pain was gone! So freaking happy that stuff is gone. Try it!

    I had my surgery May 16th. I lost 11 pounds at my 2 week appointment. I had a RNY to fix my Fundalupacation that had come undone, repair my hiatal hernia that was way worse then he thought. At the 2 week appointment he told me that he didn’t use as much intestine as a regular RNY and my stomach is bigger that a true RNY! Now I’m mad! I go through all of this and I might not loose as much weight! But I’m still determined to get to my goal weigh!

    I bought a $6 sale formal dress at forever 21 thinking I'll be able to fit it next year or give it away as a gift because it's a size large, tried it on and viola! I'm a size large in a store that runs notoriously small. Shook.

    Four and a half months out from surgery... This morning, I noticed something weird above my thigh getting out of the shower. Kind of a lump, it looked like.
    I was worried for a minute then I noticed it was on the other side, too. It was my hip bone. It has never been visible before in my entire adult life.

    I really wish Kate would have gone through with WLS in This is Us. It would have been wonderful for a TV show to tackle this decease. Of course I realize Chrissy Metz would have to have the surgery in real life. But it would be great to see her change from episode to episode.

    I had to add a Gateraid type drink around days 4-6 because I was feeling the same way. I also have iHydrate app on my phone sent to remind me every 15 min to drink. I just take 2-4 swallows each time to help me get the Water in.

    After you are taken back to surgery the doc doesn’t come in for after 45 min. The anesthesiology & surgery team are prepping you during this time. The surgery it self takes about an hour depending on what is being done (I had 3 surgeries that each took an hour).
    You are in recovery for about an other hour & then your family can come in.
    Depending on how busy the hospital it it can take a few hours until you get to a room!
    My surgery was at 1:30 & I didn’t get to a room until 1am!

    I’m 10 days out from my RNY & I am still having tremendous shoulder pain! I use lidocaine Patches during the day. I already take 1200mg neuroton a day. Pulse I am taking 3-4 norco day because for the pain!

    I see my doctor on Tuesday & then my pain specialist on Wednesday.

    But has anyone else had the shoulder/nerve pain last so long? I have had 5 abdominal surgeries & the pain has never lasted more then a week!

    I like Baritastic because it tracks all of this. You can input reminders for your meds and Vitamins and it gives you a ping when you need to take them. You just go in, set your goals (like 64oz of Water a day) and log as you go. It will also keep track of your weight, inches lost, ect and it’s free. It syncs with your Fitbit if you have one too. And you can just scan a bar code to add a food or drink, which is so easy for me. There are others out there, but this one ended up being my favorite.

    Man, that dude is sad. He really doesn't have your back. How can someone who loves you actually talk like that? Easy way out....You know what is the easy way out?
    Having a friggin metabolism that allows you to stay thin while eating burgers, fries, pizza, candy, etc.
    Never having to look at the scale and decide, I'm only going to have Water instead of the friggin beer that everyone else will be drinking at the party.
    As a matter of fact, the easy way out would be to say, "f** it! I don't care about my health. I don't care about my looks. I am just going to eat what I want, and drink what I want, and everyone can just Kiss My a**!"
    Tell him that the next time he wants to be intimate, you already took the easy way out, and took care of yourself. Then tell him to do the same.
    I'm a guy, and probably breaking man code, but damn!

    toodlerue reacted to okayestmom in So Many Medical Problems ignored, is it obesity prejudice?
    Since pursing this weight loss surgery as a self Pay patient I have learned that I have the following:
    1) sleep apnea (got a CPAP);
    2) hiatal hernia (they will repair during surgery);
    3) borderline high blood pressure (placed on low dose med prior to surgery);
    4) hyperinflated lungs indicative of COPD;
    5) borderline EKG due to incomplete right bundle branch block. (Over 100ms is bad mine was 92ms).

    When I complained about shortness of breath during exercise, pain under my rib and other things, my Dr. just told me I need to lose weight.

    My cholesterol is awesome though. My labs all look good, co2 has been at the high end of normal. I quit smoking in 2013. But how did I pass my physicals?

    I think my Dr. should have ordered some of these tests. Was I just dismissed because I am fat, or are all these problems just borderline issues that will resolve with weight loss.

    I see the surgeon next Tuesday. I have not talked to them about the chest X-ray and EKG yet. Until then I will probably excessively google. 😂

    Played phone tag with the dr today.
    I did speak with a dietitian from Cigna today. She recommended I have some strained cream Soup. I tasted so good! It seemed to help also!
    Watered my plants in the back yard, that little bit of activity seemed to help my shoulder feel better too!

    toodlerue reacted to Malpraxis in Clothing - buy stuff and it doesn't fit
    I'm more of a suit man. And that makes it a bigger problem.
    I also got gradually obese while being aware of it due to an injury, so I never got rid of any of my clothes, because I knew I'd need them again.
    My suits are arranged by weight. I know I'll make progress when I move further down the rack.
    In any case, are tailors where you live still a thing? Mine is old as hell, so it seems like it's a dying trade.
    My best advice would be to buy clothes that fit, but not that many, and have them fixed as you lose weight. Then treat yourself to a few staples as you go on. Accessorize well and the fact that they aren't exactly form fitting won't show as much. Otherwise you may end up buying something that fits you, but you don't really like. It's like buying clothes without trying them on.

    Im 5.5 months out and need to make good food choices every day. The hunger is coming back finally. I didn't miss it while it was gone. The sleeve is a tool. It is up to you to decide to use it. You just need to go back to basics and eat Protein and veggies. If you are struggling with willpower then maybe talking to therapist to figure out your food issues could be a good thing. You can do this. Don't let food control you.

    Recent (12/12), but down 30 though not focusing on it. Pants are falling off. I've got a lot of clothes that didn't fit in my closet and now they do so I've suddenly got a wide selection of clothes. I've noticed a bit less back pain too
