The 1st few days are rough. Consentrat on Protein and liquids right now. The Protein Shakes can be counted as liquid.
The first few weeks I only got between 700 and 900 calories day. Just don’t go on a binge. I need a bunch of crap and you will be fine.

toodlerue got a reaction from GreenTealael in Am I crazy for wanting to cancel my surgery next week and just try Wegovy?
Do not give up hope! My surgeon told me to get all my info from the internet! I even put myself on a 2 week pre-surgery liver shrinking diet. I got no help from him whatsoever. I worked with a nutritionist from my insurance company to figure out what I should be eating.
My daughter had an amazing surgeon.
we have both done amazing and kept the weight off for over five years
Do not turn to drugs. The weight will come back on as soon as you stop.

toodlerue reacted to Tomo in only 4 weeks out and been on solid foods for 3 weeks
It's not really a matter whether it hurts or not but that it is quite dangerous to eat solids too early on because your sutures have not healed until about the 6 week point. It can cause serious damage either now or in the future. I would speak to your surgeon about this.

Wear the same thing home that you wore to the hospital. You won’t be in them for very long at a time.

I had a fundolipcation years ago & after ten years it was discovered that it had failed at some point. And that my esophagus was L shaped & 1/2 of my stomach was above my diaphragm!
I had a bypass to fix all of that and lost over 60 pounds. I feel so much better now!
Good luck & God’s blessings on you tomorrow!

toodlerue got a reaction from NettyD in Question about bypass portion sizes
I’m over 5 years out. I eat about 2oz Protein & one oz veggies for dinner. I have 5 small meals a day.
When we go out I eat about 1/3 of the protein & about 3 small bites of veggies.
If I go over that I know I will put on weight.
If I eat more then that I end up throwing up.

    Good for you!
Try adding an electrolyte Water to your fluids like Drip Drops or liquid IV.
That really help me when I was feeling “punie”

If you are drinking your Protein this can count as your Fluid intake (this is what my nutritionist told me) for the 1st couple of months.
Try adding something like Drip Drops or liquid IV to your Water. Set a time for every 15 min to drink, even it’s a little sip.
I’m over 5 years out & I still have a time set with the Baritastic app yo remind me to drink.

I drink about 3oz of fresh juice for a snack. I love carrots, cucumber & beets. I juice up a bunch & freeze 3oz in breast milk bags (they are much stronger then regular ziplock bags) and have one every couple of days.

After you loose a considerable amount of weight you really should have another sleep study. I lost 70 lbs & still have to use one! I’ve been using one for 18 years 🤦‍♀️
