  1. Much better. I'm 9 weeks post-op and I'm not hoarse at 10 am anymore or waking up with acid burning the back of my nose.
  2. Congrats on your excellent progress so far and welcome!
  3. It's terrible that they're being so unresponsive, but this will give you an idea. I was also a sleeve to RnY revision. My doctor uses the same diet protocols for both surgeries: 2 weeks full liquids 2 weeks puree 2 weeks soft regular foods as tolerated. Minimum 64 oz fluid/day and 60g protein. 30-30-30 rule (Don't drink 30 minutes before a meal, during, or 30 minutes after) Multivitamin with iron
  4. Severe reflux that couldn't be controlled with meds.
  5. I still make it into egg salad
  6. Congrat's, you're looking great!
  7. Week one update: Working on loggin meals better. I think I completely logged 2 meals this week and got back to my ticker weight after the holidays so, yeah me!
  8. That's not a salad, it's a fat bomb! Why don't you sprinkle on a few walnuts while you're at it? ?
  9. Holy cow, Fluff! How much salad dressing can you put on 1/4 cup of salad?
  10. Mine is still falling out and I'm 10 months post-op. But, I had revision surgery 8 months out, so that may have contributed to my problem.
  11. I preferred the Protein20 in bottles. I didn't find them as cloyingly sweet as some of the others.
  12. The "full" feeling is different after surgery. You have to learn what it feels like to you. If you get to pain, you've gone too far. Right now, focus on the amounts your team said to eat. Don't try to hit "full". I found cravings to be brutal until I got to real foods. I just wanted to frikkin' chew something! Some of this will die down, but cravings do continue. Head hunger is really tough. If you're feeling hungry again an hour after you eat, try a Tums. Stomach acid can mimic hunger. If the Tums "cures" the hunger in a few minutes, check with your surgeon about medicine to reduce stomach acid. Hope this helps. It will all be worth it.
  13. I think supplying an answer for people who ask is brilliant. Plenty of us struggle to handle invasive questions. Our friends may not have even considered how to deflect awkward questions and when you get caught without a plan, sometimes you screw up.
  14. Can you order it that way? (I havent been to Jack in the Box in a long time!)
  15. In my case the surgeon said they didn't really form a pouch, they just connected the "stomach" to the small intestine and food just drops through. I thought this was controlled by the size of the stoma, but it sounds like the stoma, in my case, does not provide any restriction at all. My "string bean" was so restrictive because of the valve at the bottom so I couldn't overfill it. Now, there's no valve.
  16. Fear of the zombie apocalypse?
  17. I'm so sorry for all your struggles. How is your daughter doing now? I can't imagine how difficult maintenance is during and after a pregnancy. I was well past that stage when I had my wls, but I can understand how hard it was to stay on a healthy diet with a sick baby. I had a bad habit of giving birth to the biggest, healthiest-looking, critically-ill babies in the NICU. Of my four children, I only got to hold one of them the day they were born. You need support badly. It's not selfish of you. You can't take care of others if you're totally depleted. If you don't have access to a therapist, try a priest or pastor or check with local mental health clinics. Some treat people for free or on a sliding scale if income is an issue. Google is your friend here. I wish you good luck.
  18. The first week is the hardest, but it gets better. Don't focus on now. Focus on the difference you'll see in a month, in a year, in 5 years. Worry about fluids first. Food is definitely secondary. None of us are going to starve in a week. ((HUG)) and I hope your travel goes well.
  19. There are some seriously dedicated weight loss fridges out there! Don't judge me too harshly for our fridges - I live with 3 grown, non-dieting men! Got back to my ticket weight today, yeah!
  20. Congrats and thank you for sharing! Truly inspirational!
  21. Do you have to take the entire thing off to pee?
  22. All those bodysuits are like a throwback to my high school years! Kitty, since your bodysuits aren't foundation garments, do you like them just to avoid shirt tails?
