  1. I'm a big fan of cherry tomatoes. Great snack!
  2. Why jowl bacon vs. regular? The fat percentage or something else? I've never even heard of pork jowl bacon before! I love hearing how other people cook! I've never used pepper vinegar, either!
  3. How do you cook collard greens? I've never had them.
  4. My insurance paid, no questions asked. Hope yours does too.
  5. I don’t know. I think all bread is something I want to avoid but when I tried the egg white psyllium husk bread it tasted more like egg than anything so that might be ok. Will it crisp up at all on a sandwich press? Or is there anything low or no carb that will? I want to avoid carbs and bread. It will be in my best interest I think. I have bought some of the zero carb breads but they're still in the freezer. (I think I'm afraid of them, to be honest.) So I don't know whether they toast up or not.
  6. I'm not sure what you're saying is a trigger. Is it just "real" bread that you intend to avoid? Or just the carbs? Because the problem is if bread is your weakness, you may not do any better with a substitute. A good substitute may trigger the same cravings as the real thing. And a poor substitute isn't worth eating ?
  7. Yes, thank you for sharing. Hearing from long-term vets is very inspiring!
  8. So there, @GreenTealael!
  9. This is pretty common at this stage since you're only ingesting liquids. Watch for signs of dehydration. That's your big concern right now. If your doctor's office has someone on call, you can ask whether it's ok to take something like Imodium.
  10. After I got down to goal weight, I thought it would be ok to drink on weekends. I was aware of the higher risk of alcoholism after WLS, but not that there was any increased risk of damage to your liver or anything. Now there's this: https://www.webmd.com/mental-health/addiction/news/20190620/drug_alcohol_deaths_soar_after_weight-loss_surgery#1 What a bummer! Oh well, one more reason to avoid empty calories. I tracked down the original article. It turns out most of the reported deaths were from drug overdoses rather than alcohol. They also didn't delve into causation vs. correlation. Big title, but not much real information. If you're interested: https://www.soard.org/article/S1550-7289(19)30143-1/fulltext
  11. I always have a sweater in the car now. Restaurants are the worst!
  12. It is devastating. We don't realize how much our hair affects our self-esteem until it falls out. Mine got really thin, but it was coming in as thick as ever after about 10 months. I took biotin and L-lysine. (((hug)))
  13. Don't forget to clean out that navel lint, too!
  14. But if they deal with the distributor that carries it, they might order it for you
