  1. Thanks! It sounds delicious! I'm still on very soft foods, so I'm always trying to add to my recipes. Thanks so much!
  2. Honestly, even those of us with unforseen complications would still do it again in a heartbeat.
  3. Those look great! what recipe do you use? They count as soft foods, correct?
  4. Yes, but you could show a pre-surgery serving and a serving that you would eat now.
  5. We're all very different. For me, yes, it is absolutely worth it. I have been dieting since I was about 12. I'm 59 now. If I were ever going to be successful at maintaining weight loss, I would have known it by now. (I can lose weight fine, I just regain). It's already tough to get older, and hauling around 3 large sacks of dog food on my back was making everything worse. I was fortunate that I did not have co-morbidities, but it was just a matter of time, imho. I'm down 75 lbs. in 5 months. I've never lost more than 40 at any one attempt before. But, don't be fooled. It is hard. The surgery helps, but it takes real commitment from you to make it work.
  6. I wouldn't want to have to drink 6 more ounces (compared to Premier Protein) to get the other 10 g of protein. It would almost be easier to drink 2 Premier Proteins (22 oz) and then you get 60g of protein. But to each their own. Maybe they taste amazing.
  7. I never would have thought to replace the noodles with sprouts. Thank you! I miss Pad Thai so much!
  8. Fascinating! Thanks for posting!
  9. Thanks, I need to see if I can find that Pie Crust mix. I haven't experimented with baking with sugar substitutes yet. I'm afraid I'll like the results! Well, that and the fact that I'm sure I wouldn't be able to swallow anything with a cake-like or even cheesecake-like consistency.
  10. Definitely! We're just like reformed smokers! It's hard to bite your lip when you see others going down the same path that led you to misery. But you have to. We didn't want to be judged and we have no right to judge others.
  11. Thank you! Although I think the family might complain big time if I ditch the crushed Lorna Doones!
  12. Best wishes for an easy, uneventful surgery! See you on the loser's bench!
  13. Congrats! You look awesome and sounds like you feel amazing, too!
  14. How flattering! You must be one of their "star" patients!
  15. I make cheesecake (NY style) most holidays. As cakes go, it's higher in fat and protein, but lower in sugar than most, depending on the type of crust and the toppings, of course. That may have affected whether or not you experienced dumping.
  16. Congrats! Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
  17. Mine has been falling out like crazy for about 8 weeks. Fortunately, I started with enough hair for about 3 people, but now I'm on the not-quite-enough hair for one phase. My hubby was foolish enough to come up behind me a few days ago and comment "Wow, your hair is really getting thin!" Hope he wasn't hoping for a "cuddle" anytime soon!
  18. This one was posted on bariatricpal facebook. Too good not to share:
  19. Wow, it's wise that you paid attention to your own body. I'm glad that you're fixed up now and can heal properly.
  20. My doctor did not have us start that until soft foods. Right now, they want you drinking pretty much all day. But follow what your doc advises.
  21. This confession carries over from another thread . . . One of my sons made peach cobbler last night and I just couldn't resist. I did control the portion size by using a small bowl and I used sf cool whip instead of ice cream, but still Today's another day.
