I did the carb restricted liver shrink Protein Shake diet from hell for two weeks.
I still maintain...it was the HARDEST part of this whole process. (for me, anyway)
Tips: If you have to drive anywhere, drink your shake ten minutes before you drive. I was lightheaded and had crappy reaction time. Loading the calories right before driving helped me stay alert on the road.
Here's the exciting part....you are in the home stretch.
You are huffing up that mountain...and then you'll have the climax...the day of surgery!
And it's all down hill from there.
Post op diet is tough, too...but you get to add things and each day gets better.
Take this a day at a time...and stay the course. You can do it!

I had surgery June 6, 2018 and I was extremely miserable the first two days. But my husband took off work and made sure I got up to walk even if only for 2-3 minutes per hour. He bought any and every Fluid that I thought may stay down. He never complained, nor made me feel like I was over exaggerating the pain.
Yesterday we actually went on (two) 20-30 minute walks and I was able to keep all liquids down. He has been encouraging me and very good with our son. I see so many post about partners not being on board. That’s so awful and I wish they would just support the journey. I don’t know how I would’ve made through this without my husband.

I'm pre-op so I have no advice for her as to her Water intake. As for her emotional state, I would like to offer her encouragement and send positive thoughts her way. Sounds like she has a lot of support!

Thanks for the welcome! I see we all have the same or similar goals, this is awesome it will keep me encourage! I want to be at 250 for surgery day as well but I don't know if it is possible. I will take what I can get though, LOL. Right now they just told me to lose what I can over 4 months and then they would get back to me. so far I have lost 14 pounds.

I spent the last few months prior to my first orientation hovering around 300. Somehow I was down to 299 at my first weigh in on March 13. The doc told me to lose 25 lbs during the 3 month supervised diet. So far I have lost 33 and hope to get a surgery date when I go back for my last doctor's visit on Tuesday. I would like to be down to 250 by surgery time.
Will definitely be checking this thread often....

    Greetings Gals!

I started at 350lb, Surgery weight was ~325lb, Tummy Tuck was at ~195 and my one year mark in February has kept me at about 175lb. 13 months after my surgery, I had to get gall bladder removed because I was having ugly gall bladder attacks and they found several stones. They attributed it to severe weight loss in small amount of time. Also, for those at the beginning, my best advice is to not allow yourself to get discouraged with stalls because oooooh my, how I loathed them! Just stick with the magic number 6 and don't consume more than 6g of sugar in any sitting or with any beverages. Stay Focused. Be Grateful Everyday. Appreciate your wonderful body at every stage,

Hey y’all. It’s been slightly over a year since I had the sleeve. I’m 5’6”; my highest weight was 266 (size 20 pant, 2x tops), surgery weight was 259, and my current weight is 183. I currently wear size 12 pants, a large in tops (sometimes a medium) . Although I still have some lbs to go, I’m am VERY grateful and thankful for the surgery. I had the surgery for prevention purposes, had no complications either. I changed to a plant based diet and have been very happy and healthy with it. I take a multi Vitamin, Calcium, B12, and Probiotics. I walk and do some home strength workouts.
Thats just a tid bit of my journey, I hope it inspires and encourages others. Enjoy my before and after!

I will pray for the success of your upcoming surgery. At your stage I would recommend three things:
    1. Take a good before photograph of yourself, so that you have something to compare to after surgery. Many times we are blind to our obesity. We do not see ourselves. Therefore when the weight begins to drop off rather dramatically, we question if this is really happening. Photographs are a good visualization of our success. Many people carry a before and after photo with them, just to remind themselves of their success.
    2. Walk 30 minutes each day, every day until surgery (or equivalent exercise). Walking helps the recovery process go smoothly and minimized the pain levels from surgery.
    3. Wean yourself from caffeine and carbonated beverages now. After I gave up my 6 diet coke a day habit, I suffered from a week of severe withdrawal syndrome consisting of severe headaches and body aches. I was miserable. You don't want to combine the effects of caffeine withdrawal with the effects of surgery.
