  1. Yeah you're still too young for the middle age spread and besides it sounds like you are doing all the right things. Enjoy you little ones, take them for walks in the fresh air, it will do all of you good! And give them each a hug from the Bariatric Godmother ME Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. Like I told her-- at 72 --I am old as dirt. Strange though my former bariatric practice aka "the dirty dogs " did require those of all their patients. They did not require life style trainers, exercise physiologist or extensive nutrition consult which I noticed several people have had to do. It must have something to do with how they want to prepare you.l still find Bariatric Pal helpful[emoji7] I've learned things here nobody else thought to tell me. 11. Ashley you look like I will soon(yeah I look like her enough to be a first cousin, Proud Grammy, if not a sister) It is going to be all right. I will look like that because I'll be afraid they will dump me off the Gurney before I get into the operating room. That's how bumpy my own WLS journey has been! It's gotten to he a common knowledge on Baratric Pal how I've struggled. Even threatened half jokingly ---give me a box cutter and some 30 weight fishing line and I'll do my own. I hope,by the time you read this your little nap will be over and you'll be ready to start your new and improved life. Please let us know how you are doing, even the most mundane things may be a ray of hope for me or even one of the newbies. Good luck and good healing! 12. Now it behooves you in his memory to make a success of your weight loss. I believe if there is a Heaven v somehow he knows and would approve. Go forward in confidence, my friend. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. And a top of the morning to you both! I'm red headed , Irish enough that my sons were Kevin and Bryan. But mostly I'm a garden variety American mutt, loveable but a little of several breeds. I guess I've got hybrid vigor, I've made it to 72, alas I think I'm built like a loaf of soda bread, working at getting leaner and fitter. I didn't put all this weight,on in one day and it isn't melting off as fast as I desired. But slowly slowly it will go. I think if you have more than 1 drop of Irish blood you'd like to see it for yourself. Ah --'Maybe someday I will! And Galway and Donegal ,i'm sure lovely lovely places. 14. I am already a veteran of. 1 open abdominal incision, I have my Bari Bear just waiting, I bought him off Valentine Clearance at Wally World for $1.25 because I knew he had the right dimensions. No I didn't try him out in public on my belly, I just eye-balled him. Now to get my surgery, no further developements as yet. I arise every morning and then get more and more disappointed as the day goes on. I am impatient, it hasn't even been a full week yet. Yeah Rome wasn't built in a day but it would have been had I been in charge of the project! I go around singing " do they love me? I've got to know, if they don't please tell me so!" Yes I'm a tired old 60s song! I hope-a , I wanna I need it so! Yep there I go again, hope I don't go into my second childhood before I get to finish my current adulthood. 15. Don't be scared, you are in good hands. If they weren't trustworthy you wouldn't have trusted them this far. You are going to get that scary little so- and -so out, convert to something better and long lasting. If your innards have to be rearranged -so be it. You will only benefit in the end, there will be a little pain with your gain, well that's how life happens. In my own family we phrase it as "that's how the mop flops", means the same thing. Relax -many other people have gone through this, they came out healthy and happy and you will too. Smile and Relax now---good things are ahead for you! p.s. I am 72, so it's not some wet behind the ears upstart dishing out advice![emoji28][emoji28][emoji28] Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  16. VanessaKaye if you have to sneeze or cough hold your pillow against your tummy, that's called splinting and it is an unbelievable help! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  17. James and Matt, Columbus Ohio gets their Water from surface water, rivers and dams, it is both chlorinated and artifically fluorinated, has been known to leave bleached out spots on laundry. Maybe I'll take bottled water with me, I'm spoiled, my small city draws from an artesian aquifer underground, it tastes very nice in comparison. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. Hi Mike I'm just evesdripping on here this AM, the nearest Center of Excellence to me is 50+ miles, the one I'm now strongly considering is 54.1 miles, if necessary I'll bring that up to both Medicare and Medicaid. Power to all my Bariatric Pals! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. There is a poster on here,I forget his name but he works for an insurance provider. He said something similar to asking that they consider your case on an individual basis, although you are out of network you are a special circumstance and the restriction should be waived for you. Perhaps he'll see this post and weigh in with the correct terms. If you speak their language you just might get farther. [emoji307] You, stay strong. I'm fighting a battle also, if that's any consolation. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  22. I want to weigh much less than Tomkitten (my son) -not easy since at our last mutual PCP appointment he weighed only 252 to my 300+. Then people won't say "Such a nice guy, shame he has to drag his fat old mother around with him!" he might enjoy hearing them, I don't. I should say ***** them all but I always cared too much what other people would say. I always tried to be a smoother and people pleaser, now I wonder what it gained me? People don't much appreciate a wet soggy doormat, do they? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
