  1. And i. believe a traditional rny bypass is still an option. Talk,it over with the surgeon when you see him. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  2. I'm now 72, you do not want to live as long as me in an obese body. Yes I will look and feel better than now but it will not restore,my arthritic and broke down joints. I have had 2 knee replacements, although they are good to have and less painful, they only operate at 85% the efficency of natural ones. Hopefully I will be less short of breath but it is not a total certainty I will not. I will walk smoother and easier but I can never run much less jog again and basketball ( which I was very good at in the past) nope not with these knees. So why have surgery,at this point now? I felt my body grow slower and more painful, every day. I can't walk more than a block without having to stop and catch my breath. I spend more time sitting or lying down than I do standing. My life day by day has become total crap, nothing to get out of bed for. And a lot of my friends are dying, I find I do,not want to join them yet. I do not know how many years i have left, truly none of us do. But I want to live, thinner, healthier and with a modicum of fitness. There are still places I have not seen, things I have not had a chance do , I want an opportunity to do them. This is the day and time to do them And I want my chance now. 8. I understand how if you have a sleeve the ghrelin producing part of your stomach is gone. My question is: with a bypass does this area go dormant or does it continue to produce hunger hormones? I have gastritis presently pre surg and am not sure if it is that or the ghrelin giving me hunger sensations? If a bypass is not going to help me, should I be rethinking surgery? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  9. Would they have put OP's head in some sort of head/neck clamp to keep it rolling from side to side? I hope they use a pillow or even sand bags on each side of my head. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  18. Benjamin Franklin said in Poor Richard's Almanck, something close to If you think you can represent yourself adequately in court, you have a fool for an attorney. Same for diagnosing yourself from WebMD,or even Wikipedia. Live physicians and surgeons---much better. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  21. Beautiful meeting you Miss Becca. Hope you'll hang around with us for a long long time. I hope I'm finally on a faster track than you for several, reasons, my path to surgery has been bumpy and tortured but I will make it there. How soon? Could be May, June or even July, but by then my last nerve will have snapped. Sprong!! Yeah. I have a strange sense of humor, comes from joking when I could be crying. And late at night I do weep in frustration. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  25. Trinjen---- yes it is your fat suit but it is old, wrinkled and tired. Why not opt for something sleeker, trimmer, prettier in color, that looks GOOD on you? No long will you be baggy, saggy and draggy. You'll look fit, feel fit and be fit. Whoeee! It will be so worth it. Looking forward to my own retailoring, my spring cleaning plans have that on my list. New pastel clothes instead looking and being the shape of a charcoal briquet in a dark wardrobe. No more frust8tion--- I'm going to be SO FINE! Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
