Sleeved over 65
Well please don't drop out of here, we need you and your perspective, you just may be the spark that keeps us twinkling on! And I do enjoy knowing each and everyone I have met on Here. And I'm snuck over from the other side of the Surgical Forum, but many, many of my best bari- friends are VSG! And I am living smaller at under 200 than I did 300 and more than a half, and feel better too . Now if I could only relive the obese years over again but at 73 I really am grateful for additional DAYS of LIFE.

June 2019 challenge
Well Cheeseburgh, that's Chicago weather for you, but you got to love the place÷ And if the storm hasn't exhausted itself you ship it on to me in Ohio, I swear ours changes every 15 minutes. But Thanks to my surgery, I am still here to growl! And now we have July ahead , another month to gain by losing, and so we are still blessed. Always enjoy your posts and perhaps the next Judo session won't be cancelled! Have a Happy Remainder of June, my friend!

Surgery Date
And well you should be, but I will celebrate my First Surgiversity on September 5th, more than 125 pounds smaller, a rocky at times journey, it wasn't EXACTLY sunshine, roses and songbirds singing, but WOULD I DO IT AGAIN? GirlFriend, in a HeartBeat of my now 73 year old ❤, not certain it might now NOT be beating WITHOUT the surgical intervention. So I do still BLESS my RNY, my facility, the OHIO STATE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL-WEXNER MEDICAL CENTER in Columbus Ohio, my wonderful surgeon Bradley J Needleman MD who took the chance to improve my life even at THAT AGE, I am extremely lucky, most programs would have permitted me to die obese, in daily pain and knowing all hope had expired. Oh I will always have the Arthritis I was blessed with at 25, 2 replaced knees as well as other joints that required surgeries, but I now move sweeter, smoother and without constant tears in my eyes. And that is its own ✌ victory! So I am here trying to serve my Lird, serving as a hopeful example, mentor Newbees when I can and keeping on keeping on. Oh my life still has its flaws but I have been forgiven and so I treasure Each and Every Day!

Peanut Butter Has Ruined My Life
And it turned out to be one of the things Precious Pouch refuses to continance. But I have not given up hope, just this week she conceded to allow Greek Yogurt after 10 months of vehement refusal. So perhaps banana and Peanut Butter will return. Before my surgery Greek Yogurt, Cottage Cheese, Peanut Butter, the Good Kind, I live near Columbus Ohio, the home of Krema P. Butter, so fresh it separates into oil and solids, learned as a Small Frustr8 to screw on the lid tightly, and store it up side down. And when it is time to eat some , turn it upward, stir it with your table knife, spread it on good homemade whole wheat ? bread, nothing better unless you slice bananas on it! Yum Yum to infinity and beyond! And I was an EXCELLENT BREAD MAKER if I do say so, one sandwich of that filled me well enough I didn't munch between meals. Don't know if my bossy little turkey- egg of gastric Flesh will let those days EVER to RETURN? But as the old song goes, and YES I AM OLD " Ah Yes, I remember it well!"

2 week pre-op liquid diet
Well I did mine for the entire month of August 2018. i did get a little out of energy about 4'5 days in but then my b9dy caugh5 it's "second wind" as long as I kept my fluids up and didn't try running, jogging ( which 8 barely can do with 2 replaced knees) or moving fast i didn't do too bad. I. also real8zed that I was permitted one 300 calorie or less meal in the evening, after nearly toppling over, I started adding it in the first Saturday, before that I was putting me through total liquid before. Did it work? Oh Yeah, I lost 15 pounds, took my liver from fat N.A.S.H.-hood to smooth sleek healthy LIVERHOOD,ME AT 72 with natural Basal Metabolism Rate of a Sick Sea ? Slug. Since my liver was small and pliable my surgeon Didn't have to use the Industrial strength and Sized liver retractor, easier for him, easier recovery for me. Would I do it again? Yep for the rewards are so worth it! At almost 10 months, will be on July 5th, I have gone from a Surgery Weight of 319 to 198.7, now out of Plus sizes and into 18-20, mostly all 18 top and bottom after starting at 28-30W basically the largest Wally World carried, and many of my sweats which I pretty much lived in ,that and a few t-shirts were mens 4x. So I am D***Proud of an 18, my looks in mirrors have changed so much I barely recognize myself any more but I have bought myself some more years, even if I growl a little at times, it beats being planted underground, only being a memory or picture on the wall, oh no MY. ornery strawberry blonde self is still here mak8ng my way to what ever God has planned for men And I will never be counted out, deprecated or ignored again! I may not be Living Large but I live grateful for the chance to live, vibrantly and with a SMILE ?on my face.

?2 yr Anniversary on BP?
And I'll join in with my Ensure Blue Raspberry Electrolyte powder drink, don't think I'm urinating enough, maybe the moisture is going into perspiration so this hour I'm drinking it 2 ounce cups at a time. Gosh I do miss being able to drink enough at a time to feel truly hydrated. Ah I knew in my mind that I would have restrictions. See every one else talks about "food funerals" , I mourn my pint and quart bottle bye-byes. Didn't realize the joy of a free and easy swallow!?

Protein bars
My current fave is Atkins Lemon Wafer creme bars. Remember I have two strikes against me, I am very allergic,to Chocolate and most seem to contain it and I am a Denture Wearer, these I can handle even teeth*free!

How long is protein powder good for after opening it?
I would think if there is no visable date, you keep dry,not exposed to temprature extremes it should be stable. I guess I'm a knee- jerk type, I date everything when it's opened, like" new on March 14,2019" This is my health, my digestion, such as it is, so I'm a little cautious.

Even recovering from WLS you're a good cook, both sound quite appealing!

My sleep Test
Following this thread, my Son the Tomkitten yesterday had a BMI of just under 40, 39.8 or 39.9, our PCP ordered him a sleep study and told him it could be done at home. This is an option I was not offered in October 2017. Was yours like this or in a Sleep Lab setting at a Hospital like mine. Figure it will be positive, both my Daddy, may HE Rest in Peace, and I had that diagnosis, mine was more than once a minute, probably still should be wearing my C pap but after a loss of 170 pounds, it doesn't fit quite right. That would give him a secondary co- morbity, his lipids are not in normal range so we'll see if that's sufficient to move forward toward WLS. I didn't bring up the subject, made a promise to my Bari-pals I wouldn't. He said " Mom I want to look into this. I don't want to wait until I'm old for it" I call him my Baby but he honestly is an adult male. He has seen my trials, my tribulations closely, says he still wants to speak with my surgeon. So we will get an application and see what happens. I am very proud he is coming to this decision, but I'm still a Mommy, inside I am a little scared for him.

Bikini Shopping Midway Progress Pics – POST YOURS!
Even if I NEVER actually wear a Bikini, thanks to my weight loss I can throw away my ugly bland Granny- type swimsuit with the skirt and go to a 2-piece in a bright pretty color. I'm dressing like someone proud of ME not ugly Puritan colors! Not Never No More!

Inspiration and Ways to Love Yourself
Still holds true, Alex ,even after 30 months much wisdom t9 be fo7nd there.

Inspiration from those who stalled and turned it around?
A stall is not really a stall, your body is merely regrouping for another weight loss.

Vegetarians(or Vegans!)
One of my Vegan friends tricked me into admitting those burgers were darn tasty, me who thought she was a Devout Carnivore! So I got more omniverous, haven't gone completely over to your side but we are meatless 4-5 days per week not even Tomkitten complains! Maybe I just hadn't given it a fighting chance before?

1 year post op and odd gut pains
So so true, one of my apps says "Your gut knows things your Brain has not yet comprehended" Your body has a wisdom if you but listen . Look at me , I fought with my Bariatric clinic, they kept telling me I had pist- operat8ve swelling and I was expecting too much too soon. I was right, my body knew, I had a bad stricture in my RNY pouch, ulcers there and I'm my jejunem. I had l8ved in this body for many years, I knew innately something was very wrong. Stay well, stay healthy and have a Wonderful Day!

SWEET JESUS MY HAIR!!!!!
Saw a good friend yesterday, she said " Oh My, you got your hair cut!" Nope, not really, it is still thinning and hasn't grown much. Oh whatever makes her feel good, and no she didn't see how much weight I have lost, how much my booty has become a mini- booty, all she noticed was my less 5han ample red hair.

1 year post op and odd gut pains
Glad you finally got things straightened out! The fact they all live in the same area is no real excuse for faulty diagnostic skills!

Getting so nervous.
Being anxious or nervous is like sitting in a rocking chair. You can rock and rock until you can't do any more but you're not going to get anywhere! Stay strong, stay committed, don't listen to the haters, they often are envious, they keep snipping at you from behind because you are ahead of them and a much better person. You Do This For You- When it comes to this, at the end of the Day you're the most important consideration. And Aunt Frustr8 will be right here, cheering YOU on! Promise!??

February 2019 weight loss buds
Well fellow slimmer Mama, I suffer from exactly the same syndrome myself! Want t9 hear another one? Went to visit my PCP's office yesterday, has been maybe 2 months since I last set ? on him and him on ME. First thing he said was " Just HOW MUCH WEIGHT have YOU lost?" , the correct answer is 120 pounds in 10 months. He says " Would you please stop or slow down!?" then tells ME at my age( And I do hate putdowns!) I should only lose. 70% of my excess weight and I am at 68,3%", Bullfeathers! I set out with a Goal of 175 pounds and I WILL DO my upmost to get there! And this from the man who used to dance around singing " Your Weight is Going to Kill You, and it may be within 3 years!" Jeesh, sometimes you can't win for trying! Ungrateful young whelp, he ought to have tried walking in my ?mocassins, they were pretty broke down from My Weight!

What are your favorite excuses?
I told somebody I was eating so lightly because it's June and hot outside. Don't know if she believed me, we were in an air- cobfditioned room. Truth is, my surgical after-effect is no good really appeals to ME! This is after years of Varcious Ravennacitious when I ate anything that couldn't outrun me! Big Changes, but I do celebrate the 120+ pounds in less than 10 months,i just wished my pych worked for ME instead of conspiring against ME !????
