zombievsg got a reaction from kattrax421b in THC after surgery
I smoke daily and consume edibles every other week. Never had any issues besides increased head hunger. (I normally solve that by just snacking on a low cal Protein Bar after smoking). I have noticed that edibles hit me a lot harder now, too. A little too euphoric for my taste. My surgeon only asked me not to smoke for a couple of weeks after surgery because smoking can increase the chances of blood clots. Plus you don't really want to end up having a coughing fit after having stomach surgery. Not fun at all.

I eat a low calorie Protein Bar when I get the munchies. It keeps me full for a long time (usually until the munchies go away)

zombievsg got a reaction from Frustr8 in Catheter During Surgery?
I had one but they removed it before I woke up. I did get a UTI though. You could just ask your surgeon about it when they come in to see you before going into the operating room. I made it very clear I didn't want to wake up with a catheter in me!

Yeah! Measurements will be your best friend in this process. Sometimes I feel like I'm not losing weight fast enough, but I went into surgery wearing a size 20-22 and I wear a size 12-14 now. and it's only been 3 months. The number on the scale can only show you some much! There are much better ways to see the progress you've made good luck!!!

It took me about 3 weeks to finally feel like I could drink something without the intense pressure pain in my chest. Surgeon said it was from the gas and the swelling of my stomach. Oddly enough, using a straw helped with my pain. They say straws can cause more air to be in your stomach, but I haven't had that issue!
(I'm not a doctor, but that's just what worked for me!)

Your body needs time to adjust and reconfigure, is what I assume with stalls. As long as you are following directions, things will get moving again. It seems to me that when the scale isn't moving is when my body seems to do some shrinking. Doesn't make any sense, but there you have it. Stay the course!

My first week out from surgery, I lost 8lbs. Mostly Fluid.
Then didn't lose a single pound for 3 weeks. You just had surgery and your body is trying to adjust to everything.
I'm now almost 3 months post-op and down 35lbs. It takes time, but it'll work. Stop weighing yourself and keep your stress down. It's easy to get obsessed when you want instant gratification.

I agree with Tealael. Sometimes we need to go back to basics, and that also includes going back to seeing your dietician/therapist. Life can get hectic, but we still need to make time for our health. Easier said than done, of course!

Visit your bariatric team to make a plan, they may recommend additional support such as therapy or additional surgery, or it may be as simple as a stricter diet and physical therapy plan. Safe journey again!

Get a grip, you are not stalled. You just had major surgery and you have inflammation, you had anesthetic and IV fluids and your body needs time. Follow the plan, follow the plan, follow the plan. Plus your bowels are probably not regular yet either...
You will be fine. Relax. Get sleep.

Everyone’s body is different & heals differently. We are technically still healing at 6 weeks out. Try not to worry too much, some people lose slower than others and that is ok.
Maybe increase distance if your walks and try to drink more Water and make sure you’re reaching your Protein goals

What's your current eating look like? I would contact your nutritionist asap. They would be best suited to help you.

I had that too for the first 2 weeks after surgery. I think you just have to wait it out
It gets better though when the swelling in your stomach goes down!

The 3 H's - Head Hunger - Habit and Hormones
You have been sleeved but the only part of you that understands that right now is your stomach.
You still have the habit of eating and your mind still expects certain actions and reactions from you and your hormones are going on one hell of a ride right now.
Try to keep your mind occupied and dont dwell on food. in something between 3 and 14 days you will start to settle down as the surgery heals and your hormone levels find a new normal and your brain gets used to you doing the whole eating thing different. It can be a very traumatic time period if you havent prepared yourself for the mental game ahead of you. Every issue you had or didnt think you had will rise up and mess with your mind. The sleeve does its job but the other 95 percent is mental and how much you struggle with it will decide how happy you are for next 6 months.

I notice less restriction, but still far more restriction than there was prior to surgery, but I'm not too worried. Yesterday I managed 5 sauceless boneless wings when I could barely manage 3 a few weeks ago. But before the surgery, I could take down 20 smothered in BBQ Sauce along with 4 soft breadsticks. It's all relative.

I'm 2 weeks post-op & still on a full liquids, only 1/3 cup per meal. I know every surgeon has their own diet & nutrition plan to follow after, so just make sure you are following their guidelines. You said you had half of this, some of that, etc. Are you measuring your food?
You should definitely plan ahead & log your food & the amount you're eating. We don't have the luxury of eating whatever we feel like or crave anymore.

Missy...you need a new man. Or you need to firmly educate the one you have. That kinda talk diminishes your extremely hard work...and it's demoralizing. Let him know it's inappropriate and he's sabotaging you.
