How about a small microwaved/baked sweet potato? My grocery has small ones, I nuke 1, when it's nice and soft I split it open and eat it out of the skin. Used to butter and brown sugar it but it's tasty just plain. How about baked. winter squash? You could dig it out its shell, keep it to eat a little at a time. They are greasy and yucky and I don't understand what I saw in them. R.W. it is now Panczi season, pronounced Punch-kee, an Evil Bavarian donut of Polish extraction. Although I resisted the call of the boxed donuts in the supermarket aisle the other day the Panczi display kept trying to get my attention And even said "Hey sweet stuff, I'm over here" considered knocking them on the floor but didn't want to get in trouble with management. Well I have always heard they steer you towards RnY if you've had or are prone to develop diabetes. That said, you need to have a little chat with the surgeon, especially if you are younger. I am a future RnYer but my co morbid probably differ. I have sleep apnea, Gerd, severe arthritis(since i was 25), didn't want to,lose the majority of my stomach, needed the quicker weight loss and didn't mind the other problems bypass might cause. Didn't want the constipation sleepers seem to have. But those are some of my feelings but I know and respect my sleeved friends, that surgery worked well,for them and they are in their 30s to 50. My gosh,I'm 72, I have a young friend who's having a lap-band, I doubt if its gonna work well for her but she made her own choice and its not my place to convert her. I'll keep on watching her, not even sure if she truly considered the others. My local hospital still does do lap-band , I suspect Erika just didn't want to go out of town. SurpRise I'm on the spectrum myself, I don't "come out" to everyone but I'm high-func Aspie. Didn't always have the diagnosis, as a Female Aspie, first they denied,we existed, we ( I'm 72) learned to cope, sublimate, try to fit in, our symptoms seldom got the attention male autistic had, but we are as Neuroally Diverse. My mother (who really didn't understand) told me I didn't try hard enough to make friends, oooh I tried but they,didn't want to befriend me. I had an aunt who told me I was preverse, the term she was looking for was obtuse. She told me to run thru the house with the sweeper, how was I supposed to know she wanted to vacumn,? she didn't say so. Other autistics don't upset me because I'm there too.Love your son, sure our neural wiring may be different but we are wonderful people who do have great value. I learned this in adulthood after being told I was innately flawed from childhood on. You have to take care,of yourself too and if weight loss is in your future I for one will cheer you on. sorry I got on my soapbox but I thought you,might,understand. This may not help much but walk. Either push in a stroller or put him in a backpack. Practice using his weight as a cute cuddly barbell, make him your exercise buddy. Have you cut,back,or eliminated snacks, carbs and fast food? I know as a young frazzled mom it's easier to grab something quick. I'm probably, preaching to the choir but I'm now a obese 72 year old granny and i,know of what I speak. You don't want to be sick and tired of being sick and tired. I'm having to,learn to be healthier myself. I have tried fad and structuralized diets, nothing kept,it off so,i' m facing surgery at this point in my life. I know you probably don't want to be preached at but please,learn by my example. I will probably end up with baggy saggy skin yet you will tone back,up at your age.
