  4. Wendybird thank you so much for this post, you honestly hit the spot and I'm gonna re-read it after my surgery day. I know I can do this and I will. Too many years of obesity on this body to stay this way, tired of looking like Bip the Michelin Man's twin sister. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  5. Wowee wow wow, don't you look fine, I hope my future surgery will effect such a change. Wouldn't have thought that was the same person. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  7. Chrisp2018, yeah get her involved, even if its walking, biking or swimming, as somebody who was over 200 when she graduated from high school, couldn't go to college for over a year and sat around the house getting bigger, I graduated at 17 and in those bad old days you couldn't get a decent job unless you were over 18. I laid down those fat cells and they only plumped up over the years. I was diagnosed with arthritis at 25, although I stayed active my weight bearing joints wore out early and I've had 2 knee replacements, probably should have had hips and even had one replaced in my right hand. Make it a fun challenge, I know you can do it and you'll be contributing to her future health. We'll be cheering you on from the sidelines. Have a fine day and please commit to a finer life. 8. Thanks Alex, you guys would be the people I would go to anyway, I'm thrilled that you have trial and variety packs, that sounds more cost effective. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  11. The few moments I'm not perusing Bariatric Pal I've been known to watch videos "over there" Some of the people have said they've got free samples from Bariatric suppliers, any truth to this? I hate the idea of investing $20-30 on something I'd find loathsome. Besides some of the videos are 5 to 6 years old. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  12. Think I meant overeaters unless that was a Freudian slip lol. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  13. I would think WW or Overrated Anonymous might if you have paper documentation that you consistently attended and didn't have sucessful outcome. What does anyone else think? Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  14. Day-um Fluffy if we looked that good maybe we wouldn't need surgery, besides I look more like an albino Newfoundland than Curly Paws. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  15. Welcome home Miss Topaz, you make me anxious to join you. Still waiting on my surgeons office to call with a definite date but it looks like early-mid March. I read and re-read these postings and feel ready for my day to come. Now you heal, get your fluids and proteins in and a few months you can be my cheerleader and "root" me on. God Bless. 16. Jingles 0231 YOU are not too old! I am older than you (72) weigh a skoosh less (325 down from 355) and I'm having a RnY in early-mid March in Columbus(where Mount Carmel my hospital is located). My doctor is Marcus Miller MD, the Director of Bariatrics there. It's a Center of Excellence which is what you want. I don't have CHF but I do have GERD, sleep apnea and have had 2 knee replacements. Shoot I've had arthritis since I was 25 but I've kept going with life, had 3 children (2 still living) but kept gaining and not losing weight. I've tried fad and structuralized diets and just couldn't keep a substantial loss. So I am facing surgery in about 6 weeks, worried? Heck no, I'm more concerned about more of my body breaking down until I die. So darlin' you have a friend and surgery buddy in Ohio if You want Me. Let's face the future together and show theses youngsters how it's done. There is an over50 thread on Bariatric Pal, although we are a smaller group, there is still quite a few of us and we would be happy for you to join us on this journey. 17. Whoee do I have this to look forward to? After losing 30 lbs I lost the fat pad over my coccyx but you know what? I'll buy stock in a cushion factory before I gain anymore weight. I plan to be so mobile that I won't sit in front of the TV and feel sorry for myself and my "fluffyhood" I have spent too much of my life looking like Bip the Michelin Man's twin sister. Time to move on, bike and go the places I don't fit into now, we have a lot of town festivals and fairs in Ohio i haven't had the endurance to enjoy. Maybe not Kings Island and Cedar Point but there are fireman fesivals, Roscoe Village and Ohio Historical Center, Columbus Crew, even the Columbus Clippers, Cleveland Indians AAA farm club. There are area of Ohio Tomkitten has never seen, I may have visited them when I was a little kakat kitten myself but my late husband, the Somewhat Lamented, didn't want to travel at all. Once I married him I had to attend his family reunions as well as my own by myself. It was humorous at-at his calling hours people came he wouldn't have recognized if he had been alive. Guess I must have married him for something other than his social involvement. Well there is life force and spunk left in the ole girl and I'll keep going as long as I have breath, left in me! Just watch my contrail cause I will be jetting Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  18. My goal is a size 16/175 ibs, that said I'm still 3fer and have been there since I stopped working, am down 30 lbs from my highest weight and pre surg at this point. I am not happy with how I look and feel surgery can bring only a good change in my life. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  19. I filled out an online application for my bariatric, program, the Bari attic Coordinator emailed me back, we talked on the phone, then the surgeon's office called and,set up a time to met with the surgeon and we were off to the races. Now my prerequirements are done and I'm waiting to hear a surgery date, find out when I get,my pre surgery blood work etc done. Looks like early-mid March at this point. Still trying to eat cleaner at this point even though snacks and empty calories whistle at me from the grocery shelves. I swear a box of Entemann donuts said "hey sweet stuff" the other day! I went and got a package of Spring Mix salad from the produce department instead. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app

  23. I agree with my friend Rainbow Warrior who can see it from the guys side too. FH thinks he's being kind, might even be,proud of you, but this could,be too kindness too soon. If he could only do this for,Mother's Day,Bday or something else. Try going the box up route if he's adamant about it. Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
  24. BZG24, just want to add my good wishes. I haven't had this surgery yet but have had 2 others in the past 15 months and neither added up to the dreading I had before.
