Where could you tell first when you lost some weight?
My feet were the first thing to lose their puffy look, then my rings got big (went from a size 9 1/2 to a 6 1/2) . Pants sizes started dropping before tops did. Went from a womens 34 and now am in a snug 14. My top half is slowly coming along, started out in a 50 dd bra and currently am in a 42 d (have always been busty), ill be happy if i ever make it to a loose fitting size large top!

cold
I was a person who slept in a summer nightie with the fan on full blast year long. When i hit the 100lb loss mark it was like all of a sudden i went into a deep freeze mode. I think the body is still not used to having less padding. Im always cold now.......and dressed in layers! This past summer was the first time in 15 years that i did not mind the Texas heat.

Fill Probl;em: Band losing Fluid
Are you being informed of the exact amount of fluid discrepancy? If its a significant amount each time i would certainly demand an explanation. I had the same exact thing happen and i made quite sure i was told the EXACT amount that was in my band versus what was supposed to be there. I ended up having to have my port replaced.

Need to vent...i just dont get it!
I just dont get it....i read the forum daily and from what ive been reading it seems as though folks either ....1. dont get after care dietary instructions from their doctors or .....2. are disregarding the medical recommendations given to them. I just sit here and shake my head and wonder why in gods name would anyone willingly subject themselves to a voluntary operation then not follow the guidelines.

Hello from Sin City LV
Surely your doctor must of given you dietary directions for after your surgery. FOLLOW THEM ......being as you have only been banded a few days .....you should be on CLEAR liquids, this would mean NO tomato soup. Do not risk harm to yourself or your band by eating foods that are not allowed just yet, this is a healing time for you. Seriously don't push it, take it easy and let yourself heal and follow your after care instructions.

Compliments
When someone compliments me on my weight loss i am always very flattered and thrilled that they did have the courage to say SOMETHING. So i always say "thank you for noticing and thank you even more for telling me because it gives me motivation to continue on with the journey!"

How many calories do you eat daily to lose weight?
At least two days a week i stick to 1000 calories, i aim for 3 days a week but on 1000 calories im a miserable person to live with. Im fine with 1200-1500 any less then that and im cranky, hungry and tired.

christmas party
Is a few beers really worth risking damage to your pouch or band? I don't think its a good idea at all.

It can be done!
I just wanted to encourage everyone that has 200 or more pounds to lose and tell you that yes it really is possible. As of this morning i am officially half of my former weight. If i had one piece of advice it would be to NOT focus on the total poundage needed to be lost. Focus instead on small incriments. I always set 10lb goals that way the number never seemed so staggering and eventually it all wittles away! Good luck to everyone.

Saying goodbye to my clothes....
I saved one pair of size 34 pants. They were the pants i wore to my lap band seminar. I still pull them out every so often, the last time i pulled them out my teenage daughter and i stood side by side inside the pants! Twice a year Summer season and Winter season i donate all the to large items to goodwill. Im just having a blast buying new wardrobes.

How many sizes did u go down vs. the amt you've lost? curious..
I started out weighing 359 lbs at 5ft 5 inches that was a size 34 womans pants and a 4x5x top. This morning i weighed 182 and wear a 16 jeans or a snug 14 and an XL top. Ive gone from a 52 dd bra to a 42 d. and i recently had my wedding rings resized from a 9 1/2 to a 6 1/2. I still have my size 34 pants that i wore to my lapband seminar, my teenage daughter and i can stand side by side inside my old pants! I plan on trying to get down to a size 12!

Will I Be Returning to Work Too Soon?
I think you will be fine. You may be a tad uncomfy but as long as you do not do anything rigorous i don't foresee a problem. Personally ive had dental work that ive found more bothersome then the actual lapband operation.

Need help with SPANX...a little off topic, sorry
I also love my spanx! I would however suggest going up a size from what the package chart says u will need. I have the kind that reach up as high as the bottom of your bra and go down to a few inches above the knee. I swear they take a good 15 lbs off ya.

Question for those who lost weight fast.
I lost very fast at first as well, in the first six months after surgery i lost 88 lbs. Needless to say i was quite thrilled. There is no way i could of ever done that without my band. Im in the home stretch now and its no easy feat. I just keep telling myself even it it takes another entire year to lose the last bit ........ I WILL DO IT!! Best of luck on your amazing loss!

Happy I'm Not Alone
Please know that you are definitely not alone in your quest to lose over 200 lbs. It is possible!! Best of luck to you with your upcoming surgery.

What does restriction feel like?
For me restriction feels like a pressure in my upper chest, almost as though someone is pressing down on me, makes me want to take a deep breath. When i get that feeling i know to stop eating and do not even think of taking another bite or intense pain will occur and chances are food will want to come back up. I have the large VG band and have 10cc in it so i am very restricted. Its taken me 2 years to get to this point of restriction. For instance tonight i made a weight watchers entree and was only able to eat 1/3 of it before i had to stop. It took me a half hour to eat that. Takes alot of getting used to.

What about the loose skin?
A medical professional once said to me that there is no such thing as a magic lotion or potion and exercise alone will not undo the effects that a massive weight loss has on the body. Soooooooo......untill plastic surgery is covered by insurance (big laugh) i will be sucking in my flab with spanx and hiding it under the beautiful cloths i can now purchase because i can fit into them !

Stretched Band
I was in the same boat. Every time i went in for a fill i had less saline in then i was supposed to. I ended up having the band emptied then refilled with a dye solution under fluoroscopy so that they could see if there was a leak. I ended up having port replacement!!

COuld I have slipped the band?
Congrats on your great loss thus far! I don't think one pb episode can cause a slip. I think it takes many a pb and being to tightly restricted for a long amount of time. I guess the thing to consider is are u totally unable to tolerate solids or are u able to just consume a small amount? Ive always been told that when properly restricted i should not be able to eat more then a half a cup of food at a sitting. I still find myself having the mentality that i should be able to eat more then i do a reality check and say wow i guess this thing really is working because after 5 or 6 bites i am done! Do i still want more YES i sure do but thank god i have my band to stop me dead in my tracks.

1 Fill to Restriction...
Wow im floored.....one fill to restriction. If i could offer one piece of advice it would be to make sure you can drink water before you leave your fill center. Not just a few sips either, make sure u can get down a full glass before you leave and do so without being in pain or feeling like you have to bring some of it back up. Being overfilled is not worth the host of problems it can bring on. Also bear in mind that you may not actually feel the full effects of your fill for a few days. Proceed with caution on an extreme caution.
