  1. My insurance has also always paid for my fills.
  2. Im going to follow suit and say i agree looser is better! Why risk all the complications that come with a band thats to tight? Ive held true to my less is more feelings when it comes to fills, I had my 11 th fill yesterday. Up to 10.4 in an 11 cc band. Ive never not been able to eat. Can i eat alot........nope......can i eat less and still be statisfied.......YEP. Goal accomplished.
  3. I always asked to be numbed first. The only sensation i feel when they are adding the fluid is some pressure. I had my 11th fill yesterday and not once was i ever in any type of pain.
  4. If you think you can do the liquid phase while being in a business type work atmosphere i say go for it. I had very little discomfort after the surgery. I was up and about with no problems at all the same afternoon. The only discomfort i had was that my stomach felt like i had done 2 thousand crunches. But that was easily gone in a week. Good luck to you and hope all turns out well with your trip!
  5. I am also one who simply adores ice cream. So what i do is, one day week i have some. Usually Saturday nights i will have a small cup while watching a movie or whatever. But i only buy the quantity that will get ate by the 3 of us in my house on that one occasion. Then POOF no more temptation is around. I find that if i deny myself i end up sabotaging my efforts worse then if id just gone ahead and had a lil of what i wanted.
  6. Ive never had an issue with it in limited amounts. Give it a whirl!
  7. I do try .......but......i never can stretch it out to 30 mins, simply not enough food on my plate to last that long.
  8. Greetings and good luck from Mckinney, Texas!
  9. Was curious to know if anyone out there has maxed out the fill level on their band? Im heading in for my 11th fill tomorrow wich will put me over 10cc in my 11 cc band.
  10. WTG you must be feeling on top of the world!
  11. Congrats i bet you feel great!
  12. Ill take my saggy baggy flabby skin any day over weighing what i used to! I can hide my saggy skin for the most part but theres no way i could of hid 359 pounds.
  13. This is a tad out there but........any chance of finding a doctor willing to donate his banding services, then selling raffle tickets with a lap band being the prize. Would certainly draw more folks that were interested in the procedure.
  14. This post really hit home with me. I read it twice, i felt like you were discribing my situation before i got banded as well. The 6 months is a long haul for sure but i found it passed quickly if i took it a week at a time. The end all has been one of the most greatest things i have ever done for myself. Please hang in there and know that IT WILL GET BETTER and that you can do it!
  15. In answer to your questions.. PB is sort of like burping up food, that you ate to fast or was to much for your new small pouch to handle. Like regurgitation in a way. Alcohol is permitted, I do have a drink on occasion, but i prefer to eat my calories rather then drink them. Is it worth it, i think SO VERY WORTH IT. I dont think i would of stood a chance in hell of losing as much weight as i have doing it on my own. My band has given me a life back.
  16. I wore long mumu type sun dresses, really comfy and nothing to hit your surgery area.
  17. It may take a few days for it to kick in. I know mine always do.
  18. You know you have lost weight when.......you need to move the car seat closer to the stearing wheel cuz your stomach dose get in the way anymore!
  19. Id head right in for a fill. We all know only to well that 2 pounds turns into 4 then 4 all of a sudden is 10. Much easier to nip it in the bud before it gets out of control.
  20. I started dining out as soon as i hit the "mushy" food stage. Always can find a good soup on the menu as well.
  21. Sugar free ice pops helped me through the liquid phase
  22. My instructions are always no food for 4 hours before and no liquids 2 hours before a fill.
  23. Did i miss seeing where this is being held at?
  24. I also am guilty of this. Im finding this one of the hardest habits to break for sure.
  25. Best of luck to you from a fellow bandster in McKinney!
