  1. surgeon was unable to tack it into place..... has anyone ever heard of this happening??
  2. anyone recently banded and the band was not able to be tacked to the stomach... any problems... please respond if you have answers
  3. Unfortunately lapband doesnt control or stop you from eating those sweet treats.... YOU DO! It is hard but in the long run... we all have to eat healthy to lose weight and make better choices... Treat urself once a week to that favorite treat and it'll be better...good luck to you:thumbup:
  4. I am a sugar addict also!!! Banded 18 months and down 98lbs....I would still like to drop another 25 however I am not willing to give up every drop of sugar. I excercise and try to eat right. Now my band adjustment is good and that stops me from having the carbs... But not the SWEETS!! They go down just fine all the time. You have to make the choice that is right for you, but if you want something that'll stop you from being able to eat sugar....lapband wont do it...i can tear up some ice cream and cookies and cant choke down one bite of brocolli lol!! Unlike you I am a binger...i cant have it in the house or I eat all of it... good luck on ur choice... but you have way more control then I...I wish I could only have a lil bite and stop....I WANT IT ALL lol:tt2:
  5. I can relate. I always get my TRUE restriction 3 weeks after the fill. My dr makes me wait at least 4 weeks between them because if not... I get too tight.

I call that mourning... I'm not hungry... after 16 months with the band I still miss food very much. And unlike alot of ppl I read about on here... I CRAVE and am still addicted to food... although i cant eat alot of it I WANT IT!! and those wonderful sweet things at easter went down just fine giving me 3 lbs!!!! I've lost 110 all together..well 107 now Thank you very much Easter BUNNY!! Anyway.. I just wanted you to know we all feel that way now and again. Just remember to treat urself a little so you dont treat yourself alot!!! and you'll do great. good luck
  7. My doctor doesnt forbid coffee at all...however i'm not allowed protein drinks....go figure..everyones different... .I've lost 105lbs in 10 months.....i dont think the coffee affected my weight loss... gl!!
  8. Hey Newbie ...i too am from La... I'm 45 miles south of New Orleans...good luck to you!!!
  9. two days? dont stress...it took me 6 months of getting documented diet and health history. my insurance didnt want past records....they made me create new ones....lasting 6 months going to the dr once a month. that happens to alot of ppl... the 6 months...so gl...but dont be too upset after only 2 days, it'll get better.
  10. i must be the only lapbander not allowed protein shakes, my dietician as well as bariatric nurse said the lapband doesnt work like gastric bypass. those patients do not absorb their protein, however lapbanders do.
  11. I HAVE MORe of a sometimes i can eat it sometimes i cant kinda lapband...however i dont leave out a food..except bread rice or pasta....they just take up too much space lol... but dont think because that happened once or twice it'll happen again...try ...it may work and go down.... it may not...... good luck
  12. sounds to me like you're doing great!!! not h ungry between meals... not looking to snack..making healthy choices...YAY... you do realize that eating is a good thing lol? my dr's rules are eating smaller meals..not wanting snacks... staying full longer....sounds like you fit right in....he never told me about 1/2 cups or such..sometimes i can eat more sometimes less....i go with it and make good choices....GOOD LUCK YOU ARE DOING GREAT!
  13. I totally relate!!! Some days I feel like a beached whale. And i dont know what to eat what to do, i'm stressing over size constantly...and the scale omg thats another story..thanks for the post its nice not to be alone
  14. I love cheesecake....and if i'm good all week....I HAVE SOME!!!!!!!!!!!! I also like the south beach chocolate covered soy nuts....I like my sweets too!!!
  15. I am 8 months out and i low carb it for the most part. I have learned the trick is to have some carbs.... that way ur body doesnt freak and go into fat holding mode when you eat them. I dont have many but once a week i have a meal where i eat what i want and have dessert even..this helps me not to pig out during the week. That below 20 carbs is for the birds..and if i could do that i'd not have had to have lapband for the assistance!! lol i have under 60 usually and that works for me. I avoid bread and rice and potato of course... no alcohol. My snacks if i have them are nuts or South Beach. Dont beat urself up about it... you can and will do it... Good Luck!
