No, I'm off tomorrow. I work overnights so I took a couple days off beforehand to reset to a day schedule. I figure I'll have to be awake during the day for the next couple of weeks so I might as well get a head start!

Hey my surgery is at 11! We really are sleeve buddies, lol. I hope we don't get postponed. 4pm is a long time to wait! I go to Clear Liquids only all day tomorrow (been on Protein Shakes and other low carb low fat liquids and soft foods since Thanksgiving), then only Water from midnight tomorrow until 7am Thursday.

I actually bought some unflavored samples for after surgery because I know how I am lol. I guess I could try some now and just purchase a thing of it if I like it. Thanks for the advice! I hadn’t thought of that for pre op.

I really hate to see some of the things that have been said in this thread. So, to those wondering about my Drs appointment I said question a revision. I just wanted my Drs opinion, although I enjoy talking to ppl on here. It's all opinions and personal thoughts. My DR said he has had a few stretch their pouches but not many in 20 years. Told me to go back to the basics. Protein first always then Veggies, no carbs. Carbs make you fat and keep you fat. Told me if my sleeve wasn't "working" he hated that term. That I wouldn't be up 30, I woulf be up 100. Just thought some it you would like to know. Thank You for the positive msgs. The negative nasty people, I understand why you were overweight to begin with. Slamming others equals NO self worth or Self Esteem.

The "pouch reset" is actually only a exercise in habit reform. You most likely did not stretch your sleeve. I say "most likely" because it is a very rare thing for a properly performed VSG to stretch. The esophageal sphincter or the pylorus will weaken long before the sleeve will stretch enough to cause tears that heal back with a larger volume over and over again. Or if someone had bypass, the opening created in the intestine could be stretched which would allow food to go through too quickly.
The pouch reset is a name given to reverting back to the post-op basics. Fluids for a short time, then soft foods, then dense Proteins. It is an exercise designed to train your mind to recognize the sensation of fullness.
So are you too far gone? No, of course not. The only question is how important is it to you to make the change that is necessary. Don't think about eating less crap, think of not eating that crap at all. There is no need for it. I will admit that I miss the convenience of fast food, but I do not miss anything else about it. I am actually quite proud of myself that I have not had a fast food sandwhich in almost 3 years.

My surgeon has told me to sip about an ounce (breaking that ounce into two sips) every 15 minutes (while awake) for the entire first week after surgery. Though I'm not quite certain I can keep up with that schedule! I'll have to try though. I'm thinking about using a timer on my phone. I've been given a couple medicine cups (like the ones that come with cough medicine or the like) to help that process. Maybe that'd help you to get more fluids in?
As far as the thing down your throat, my surgeon described passing a wire or a tube down the esophagus to the stomach, and inflating a balloon that would help shape the new stomach. Maybe that's part of your discomfort, if it's in your esophagus. Otherwise it'd definitely be the breathing tube that irritated your throat.
The gas is probably from the carbon dioxide used during surgery to inflate your abdomen. This gives the surgeon a better view of your organs. It just takes time before that goes away, and like other people said, walk walk walk. It helps. Taking simethicone (Gas-X, if your surgeon allows it) has helped me in the past.
