redhead_che got a reaction from sillykitty in 4 Days Post-op....feeling really depressed and lots of anxiety...
I took naps every day for my 3 week post op time off. That doesn’t seem unusual to me. But I was doing laps around the main level of my house every hour the first week and then the second week I was outside walking as far as I could. It wasn’t pretty. But I didn’t do hardly anything besides get my fluids and Protein in the first few weeks and do my laps. And id fall asleep in the recliner during the day. Naps aren’t the devil. I was just as tired as you described. But as long as I was walking and moving every hour and getting my fluids I was fine

I have a crockpot mushroom chicken recipe I loved. And I make “cups” a lot of different ways in a muffin tin with wonton wrappers. This week it was spicy taco cups. I’ve done lasagna and pizza cups as well as egg cups, but the spice of this one was on point. And I put cute little garnishes on

Sleeved 11/28. -50lbs today and realized all the pants in my "those don't fit" closet now DO fit and I did much rearranging tonight to make room for the 10 pairs of pants I can wear again! Only a few formal dresses and 2 pairs of jeans remain in the "don't fit" closet. Getting closer....

Barely making over 500 calories...mostly I hover in the 400s somewhere. My nutritionist says as long as I meet my Protein goal (60-70g) and Water goal (64oz) in a day, calories aren't important. She said 800 cals/day is a good goal to work towards. And then there was that whole thing about "don't drink your breakfast" aka protein shake--eat an actual meal. Well, I don't eat real food that early in the morning so HMPH. The Protein Shake stays.
Hopefully by 3/28 I'll be in the 160s! Gosh that'd be amazzzinggg.

redhead_che got a reaction from Nannett1966 in When your hair started falling out...
My program said it's pretty common to see Hair loss start anywhere from 4-6 months post op, regardless of which procedure you chose. I'm almost 4 months and mine is just beginning. Hopefully it stops soon. The duration of hair loss appears to be different for everyone. Some people don't get hair loss at all, but everyone I've talked to had some degree of it.

My macros were determined by my bariatric program. I use the free app My Fitness Pal to track everything I eat and drink. My bariatric program says we need 60-70g Protein, less than 60 carbs, and less than 30g of fat per day. I personally eat only around 30 carbs and 15-20g of fat a day, but always meet my protein.
I pick recipes based on where I’m at already for the day—if I’ve had 20g of fat and I’m getting ready to make dinner, I’m not going to choose a recipe with 20g of fat per serving. And I typically only cook recipes that have more protein than carbs per serving.
You should have macro goals given to you by your individual program, if not, I’d call and ask! Because id be lost without my number guidelines.

I used to love hard copy cookbooks but now I just search on Pinterest and save them. Print them out if they meet my macros.

Quite often. It’s totally normal. I’m 3.5 months out and still have it but hopeful it goes away soon!

Miralax or Milk of Magnesia. I use miralax if it’s only been a day or so. I use MoM when I feel real backed up. Which is thankfully not often because that stuff tastes nasty.

redhead_che got a reaction from logicwand in Calories too low? I’m so tired
Same. I'm 3 months ish out from surgery and I barely make 550 calories a day. My nutritionist and doc say it's more about getting in your Fluid requirement and Protein. So if I get my 60 grams of protein and 64oz Water in and it only took 500 calories, whoop-de-doo But they both say that will pass at some point--but my primary focus should be protein amount. I do feel tired sometimes on such low fuel, but I've lost a good amount of weight so it's working?

I've been putting it off because I've gone through like, all of my saved pants that were previously in the "those are too small" closet and probably by next week will all be in the "these are too big, donate" pile. I wish I got to enjoy my previously too small clothes more but the rate I go through sizes is ridiculous (in a good way, but SHEESH!) To the point where I have no idea what size I am in anything. My shirts still fit though, so if you see a girl walking down the hall holding her pants up, but with a real cute shirt on, that's me

A progress picture. A before and current, definitely more progress to be made. But I was so darn frustrated this week about stalling. I had to put the two pictures side by side to see I’ve come so far already...have to keep going! 💪 I highly recommend doing this compare and contrast activity if you haven’t already!

Surgery actually helped my regularity. I go daily most of the time. After 2 days of nothing I take Miralax or milk of magnesia. I’d ask your doc if that’s ok to not be going much...mine would say every 3 days or more.

I watched the whole first season last night too. Very interesting. At one point when someone had 4-6 sandwiches on their plate I got nauseous. And I felt really bad for Kimiora and her post op Protein Shake ordeal.

I must be a total wuss I took advantage of the IV pain meds (I think it was morphine/toradol?) But after I discharged I only had to take a hydrocodone like, twice. It got a LOT better the more I moved around at home.

I feel anxious at my current weight because I don't remember anytime recent I was this size. So now I'm like, "what size pants am I? what size shirt? Do these fit? Do those shoes fit? I DON'T KNOW!" Different type of anxiety, but I still mentally feel bigger than I am. My ever changing sizes make me anxious, but happy xD

TMI: Needed to poop! Are you constipated at all? I took something to help that issue and the next day all was well
