    Alrighty folks! Update time.

I am now 2.5 weeks post op and am slowly learning to listen to my body. I’m experimenting with food but find that variety isn’t that attractive at the moment. I’ll eat something a couple of days in a row if it works.

I plan for the whole 4 ounces at each meal but mostly push it away about halfway through. I also still drink Protein Shakes twice a day.

I’m not feeling hungry, except for when I go way past my designated eating time.

I’ve lost 20 lbs but honestly I only weigh myself for the record, I am more concerned about establishing habits.

I’ve been spotting on and off since I came home and there’s slight bruising on my left side. Both minor inconveniences really.

My knees don’t hurt anymore and I’ve already sent off one bag of clothing.

I always make it a point to reach my goal of 10k steps everyday. That usually involves 40-50 minutes on the treadmill at 2 mph, no incline. I was advised not to do exercise that breaks a sweat just yet but honestly it’s what I feel comfortable with anyway.

One month post op and I'm down 44 lbs. I am terrified though, haven't lost a pound in 5 days. Been through this before, lap band in 2010, was 100lbs lighter three years later. However I was vomiting at night and having problems ingesting food. Band loosened and gained 40lbs in 4 months. Fast forward pre surgery I was 30lbs heavier than my per lap band weight.
I feel great so far, and am getting ready to get back in the gym. I'm sure that will stimulate weight loss. I feel like as soon as I transitioned to soft food the weight loss stopped. Like my body is trying to stay fat.
I have to stay positive and trust the process. Time to hit the gym

Starting weight was 220, now I'm down to 186. I'm 4 1/2 weeks out and can keep most foods down. I drink one Premier Protein shake and one generic shake a day. I had my first stall about a week ago but I think that was because I wasn't getting enough Protein or exercising. Although I haven't really been walking, I'm hoping that my uptake of protein will help me lose a bit more weight. My goal weight is 140 so I have quite a bit to go!

I agree correct answers are important. That’s why she should ask her surgeon. And, various surgeons may have various answers. My surgeon told me the information so I shared it.

And yes WATER is absorbed quickly and water not absorbed moves through the digestive track. Too much water may cause toxification-rare but possible.

But we are not talking about pure water in the question. Egg drop Soup has solid food particles and the “soup” is the liquid membrane of an egg.

But I have no desire to mince words about it or compare your MBA to my PhD or elaborate on my 10 years of Air Force service. Not sure why you felt that necessary. I will follow my doctor’s instructions, you follow yours. I’m done here.

I find no joy in food anymore because I dont feel hungry. I eat to get my basic nutrients and to be healthier.

34 lbs. !! Outstanding. Maybe small goals for walking? I am doing 1/2 mile walk 3 days a week, with a goal of doing it 5 days. Then will increase the distance; go back to 3 days. Rinse and repeat. Keep up the good work!

It took me more than 7 months to lose 60 pounds. To put that in perspective, in 2 months you've lost the same amount of weight that it took me over 7 months to lose.
You're doing wonderfully. Learn to adjust your expectations to match reality.
    Good luck to you.

Yeah, I made myself sick once wth too much shrimp. Only happened once.

Yes I order an appetizer or, more frequently, I share with my husband or kids. I'm a cheap date.

I would recommend not trying anything new for the first time post op while out, try it at home first. Eat slowly. You will know when to stop if you do. Most of us find we have a "tell" be it a burp, hiccup or (mine) a stomach gurgle. It says "stop" and if you listen you're fine.

You will be learning to navigate it early on, but by six months you will have it down! I promise!

I'm just under 5 weeks out and I'm feeling some of the same things you are, as are and were so many others. If you weren't having some of these thoughts you wouldn't be normal.
Life is full of "what if's". Only you can know for sure if this is the best path for you.
This is my surgeons take on things and I tend to agree. What ever I have been trying in the past has gotten me where I am today. What I choose to do for me and my future will get me where I want to be. He also brings up Oprah......He says "she has all the money in the world and all the resources available to her and she still struggles with losing weight on her own".
I wish you all the best on your journey and that you make the best decision for you.

I told very few people and really, it's worked out fine. Many people who know you casually will amaze you by their ability not to notice something huge like you dropping fifty pounds. Other people might say something like, "Did you lose some weight?" but can be batted away easily by something vague like, "Eh, maybe. I also bought some pants that fit better."
I've lost like 25% of my body weight and most of the morons in my office have never noticed.

hi there. I'm a newbie but this topic is the most agonizing part of my decision to have a weight loss procedure done. And just like tahoegirl96118, I can't tell my family because they will not support me. What makes it worse for me is that I can't even tell my husband because he would never support that decision either. I will get the usual line of ,"You're not that big", and "Don't you think that is a bit extreme, you can lose weight by exercising and eating right." If losing weight were that easy then we wouldn't have an obesity epidemic! This is probably why I was contemplating getting the endoscopic sleeve because there are no incisions and it is done as an outpatient procedure. This decision is scary enough let alone dealing with critical haters. I hope I can pull this off. I am honestly not sure how at all. Has anyone actually been able to get any procedure done without telling anyone? Please give me advice guys!!

I could have written this post! 5'1" starting weight 194 at surgery 8-21-17. Same comorbidities. The weight comes off much slower for us lower start weights. But the measurements are changing and so is the weight! I'm at 157 today. I'm hoping to get between 130-140 as a goal.
I feel really good and am starting to exercise again, something I wasn't able to do for awhile.

Hi there! I was 206 lbs day of surgery, and 220 two weeks prior to that. I'm about 3 1/2 weeks post op and weigh 189.2. Sometimes I get a little discouraged that I'm not losing weight fast like most people do, but I have to remember that I was at a different starting point than others. But still, it seems that I am enduring my first stall and I can't help but feel a little down. I just ordered myself a new outfit so I'm hoping that it perks me up! lol

Hey! I had surgery on the 11th and I'm 19 too. I understand a lot of what you are going through. Maybe we can talk to each other and be bariatric buddies. I am thinking about going to therapy too. We just went through a lot, emotionally and physically. I think going to therapy would definitely help. And if you are not feeling up to going out, I suggest just simply sitting outside. I go sit on my bench in my yard and it does wonders. Lets you think and very relaxing.

Another mini update, now that I’m on pureeds I feel a lot better and with the fuel I’m getting from food it’s easier for me to get up and get out of the house to go hit the gym. And with this energy I’m finding joy in things i used to do! I’m going to a concert tomorrow with my best friend and I’m starting to paint and draw again

I had my sleeve done on October 17th. I’m one of the young sleevers, I️ turned 19 this year and have been dreaming about this surgery forever and I’m very happy and grateful that I️ was blessed to be able to get it done and I’m down 30 pounds since October 3rd!
I’ve had a lot of anxiety and severe depression since I was about 15/16 years old and am still medicated for it today. Most days I have it under control and I’m stable (those with depression or anxiety can relate just people you’re on medicine doesn’t mean everyday is perfect) . I like to go out and have fun so being post-op I’m not used to staying home because I just don’t feel good.
I feel like just normal post-op nausea, gas and all that jazz along with post-op blues and depression are eating me up recently. I feel like I’m having major regrets because I just never feel good physically or mentally.
I’m a full time student and I work, I’m trying to see if going back to therapy would help. But also since I was really young I’ve always used food as a coping mechanism and that turned into binge eating problems. I’m thinking maybe it could be that and just changing my relationship with food.

I'm with you. Currently in a stall as well, known as the dreaded "3rd week stall." I was sleeved 10/16. Things are still changing as clothes are fitting differently. I'm sticking to the plan and know that one day (hopefully very soon), the stall will break and the scale will move in the direction we all expect it to. Stay the course and believe.
