Hello- pre-op concern
Hello Overthehill; you don't have to be a fighter - just be persistant. All these test are for your safety - to make sure you make it good through the surgery without any other problems all of a sudden surfacing. You do want to enjoy your new, thinner live - don't you? Just take it as "Quality assurance" and don't worry, most of us had to go through this too- even if it make the wait a little longer . Stay on it!

How Do I Unsubscribe To This Website?
Becca, if you are still on this forum , please stay on here! I don't know if you have heard that in germany they are having trials with remote controlled lab bands, but they do. And on the germany forum sombody that is in that test group stated that a member of the company that makes the band stated to her they are going to start trials here in the US this year. :secret: If this shoud be true you could try to get into the trial and that would involve no cost on your side beside maybe travel expences as I don't know where and what hospitals they would pick to do the trial. I will keep this thread open and add more info as I learn of it. Please Becca , don't give up

Bands in Europe For a Long Time???
.... you can read Abstracts from European Physicians about their experience on lapbands ( attention -there are the good and the bad things listed!). Scroll down on that page and click on Bibliography. It will open an Adobe reader with 148 pages of information. Read through it and use your comon sense - take the time to read all the way trhough it and you will find - yes they had their problems too but positive outcomes are in the absolute majority! Hope this will help you.

Pre-Op Diet Anyone?
Hi, I'm not banded yet, but when i saw my MD and his nutritionist I asked about the reason for his pre- op diet. He says that if you can go on a liquid diet for a few days before surgery it will decrease the amount of fat that is around the liver- they have to move it- and with less fat the likelihood of complications is greatly reduced. Sounded reasonable to me- I am more than happy if something will make it a more safe procedure. Hope this helps. :clap2:

Anyony here banded by Dr. Snyder, Denver, CO?
HI, Dr. Snyder is with Denver Bariatrics at Rose Medical Center. I went to one of his free seminars and it was awesome! In this short time he actually answered all and a few more of my beginner questions and then he did a very good job on his web-site. Will meet with him the end of January, after getting my psych check on Thursday; also have already my nutritionist appointment lined up - got all me med records..... and I taled to my care coordinator at United Health care and she stated that with my BMI of 47 my surgery will not have any problems being approved. Probably a lot more info than you really wanted ! Carola
