  1. Awesome job!!!! Keep up the good work!!
  2. Congrats!!!! I couldn't eat anything for about a week or some.. You're still very swollen.. Stay hydrated... that's the most important thing right now...You will be tired for a while... until you can start getting a few more calories in.. But, I can't stress enough how important it is for you to get as many fluids in as possible... Where were you sleeved?? Also, I'll PM you my cell.. call/text if you need anything...
  3. WOW.. I pray things work out for you!
  4. Me too!!! I LOVE losing inches... I've lost 32-35 pounds... but 3 sizes!!!.. What's funny to me is... at my highest weight (382) I wore a 28/30.... but I have a friend, who's 250 and wears a 28!!!..
  5. Hey Guys!!! I was sleeved 12/19... I'm down about 32-35 lbs since surgery... I just really started working out.. I get very stressed and it's counterproductive... I'm trying to dedicate myself to the process and journey... Things I've learned: Don't compare yourself to anyone else.. our journies are as different as we are... Don't dwell on "doing it wrong".. instead, focus on learning what works for you and your body, taking into account the instructions from our WL professionals DO Celebrate ALL victories DO give yourself the benefit of the doubt.. we didn't become overweight in 2 hours or 2 days or 2 months!! DO extend the same amount of patience and consideration that you extend to others.. to yourself... REMEMBER, each day is a new day to start fresh!!! You are doing great!! Keep up the great work!!!
  6. I have this look.. that says it all... I was shopping pre-surgery.. getting new jammies and things... the like just started inserting herself into my convo I was having w/ my friend... She said.. You're not having that weight loss surgery are you?? I said.. Yes, WHY??? She walked away.. You were very good to stand there... I need to be as calm as you...
  7. Awesome job!!! You look wonderful!!! Keep up the good work!!!
  8. Wow!! My BCBS-IL policy no longer requires it... States vary as well as individual company's policy... I needed my 6 months.... this is a very emotionally engaging journey... I needed preparation... Best wishes to you guys!!
  9. I like the surgery vs care for obesity related illnesses from the ins company's perspective!!
  10. Congrats!! I'm so excited for you!!!
  11. Welcome and congrats!!!!
  12. Someone (Tiffykins, I believe) posted researched that dispels the 20-30g protein absorption thing... I will try and search for it.. and repost here...
  13. I'm taking HBP medication since surgery... I never had issues prior to surgery... My BP went up the day after surgery and stayed there until they started pumping me w/ Lopressor... I don't know why... but I know that it happened!! 3 months later, I'm still on meds.. hopefully w/ exercise and continued weight loss, this will go away too!
  14. WOW Lissa... Starting on the first, I'm pretty much eliminating breads and sweets for a month or so.... I'm glad I can tolerate basically anything (except very sweet drinks)... But I need to ramp up my effort to get as much weight off before August....
  15. I was 6 weeks out... and I could only eat about 1/4 of it... Now I can eat a whole piece...
  16. Awesome!!! LOL.... Congrats!!
  17. As of last month BCBS stopped requiring the 6 month WLP.... could it be your company's own policy requirement?

  22. So today, I'm in mandatory benefits meeting.. and I find out that my job is changing health insurance providers.. Well, I'm looking through the paperwork and I see that the plan that's comparable to my current insurance has an exclusion for any type of bariatric surgery!!! Well, let's just say that I started smiling and Thanking God that I had my surgery in Dec!!!.... I'm so glad I decided not to wait until this summer... Also, I had a birthday dinner Saturday night and my sister thought my plate as my 2 year old niece's plate!! LOL... That made me smile!!!
  23. My heartfelf prayers and best wishes go out to you..
