  1. Awesome job!!! I am so proud of you!!!! Keep up the good work my dear... remember to enjoy the journey!!!!! Love and hugs!!!
  2. Peacequeen, LOL.. that's funny!! I really needed to re-read this post... Helped me resolve a few things!!!... I have to finsh each day knowing that I did my best to use my sleeve optimally!!!.. Lately, I've been kind of coasting.. I'm very encouraged!!
  3. They actually dropped the 6 month requirement last month I believe.. Basically, it was their proof that you've exhausted all "traditional" methods of losing and maintaining weight loss. I believe now, all you need is a letter of medical necessity, a few consults and a nutritionist visit...
  4. I'm finally feeling like okay.. I'm adjusting to my new life.. at times, I forget and gulp or attempt to overeat and Sleevina (my sleeve) let's me know.. "Chick, chill out!!".... I've had to learn patience and appreciation for each day of my journey.. good and bad alike!! Congrats and best wishes..
  5. I have BCBS-IL... after my 6 month weight loss program.. took 2 days for approval..
  6. The first cough, sneeze, hiccup after surgery, when you aren't medicated... HURT!!!.. But after that, I didn't have much pain... I can't stand throwing up.. doesn't hurt, just very annoying!!
  7. Congrats!!!! Awesome job.. Each day gets better!!!
  8. Healing thoughts and best wishes!!!!
  9. I echo Diva and a several of you guys.. That's the beauty of life.. My choice should not diminish anyone else's... People feel all sorts of ways about WLS, birth control, etc.... their personal choice and it doesn't influence my actions either way... Think how many people have been saved by radical medical means and the how many people have died when they could have been saved by a simple injection... Same with the sleeve... some chose a different way, I chose my Sleevina and I love her.. she helped ME save my life!!!!
  10. I had my drain for 2 days post-op... It was just very annoying and felt weird coming out... I don't think you have anything to worry about...
  11. I bought some gummies and they changed my life!!! I couldn't stand chewable either.. I use vitafusion multivites.... Hope you find something you can tolerate.
  12. I'm over 3 months out.. I didn't throw up until recently.. My own fault... slacked on my prevacid, had 2 sweet drinks and woke up w/ a reflux attack... I think you'll be fine.. Just stay hydrated and take your meds...
  13. Hey Sandie, Below is a link to that specific group on VST.. I hope you find the encouragement and insight you seek... Best wishes!! http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/forum/36-sixties/
  14. You're still very early out..(me too.. a little over 3 months)... keep following your plan.. .protein, hydration, protein, hydration.... The weight will come off... Enjoy your journey!
  15. Sometimes people don't want honesty, think they KNOW everything, try to take their insecurities out on others and some really don't know how their messages come across... Regardless of the reason or motive behind it, only YOU have your journey... Sharing the ups, downs, suggestions, etc. helps people learn to navigate their own journey... Don't like people who are probably just rude and haughty cause you to withhold yourself from those who need your insight and those who enjoy reading about your journey. I guess folx aren't versed in how to skip over a thread when they don't like what they're reading!!! Enjoy your day dear.. and I for one would miss your insight terribly!!!
  16. Awesome job!!!! I'm waiting to get in the 200s!!!! I haven't weighed in yet... Awesome job!! Congrats!!!
  17. Congrats!!!! You are doing great!!!! Below are links to a few of my early posts.. http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/28592-day-4-post-gastric-sleeve-surgery-surgeryhospital-details/page__fromsearch__1 http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/29423-3-week-pre-op-update/page__fromsearch__1
  18. Oh, this was 8 months pre- op and I had to get several CT scans and chest x-rays to make sure I had no sig scarring before I could sleeved.
  19. I had pneumonia for almost a month and didn't know...thought it was a cold and me just being lazy.... Please be sure they repeat the chest x-ray before ur surgery.... the last thing you need is to be under general anesthesia w/ infection in ur lungs!!! This was a blessing that it was found!
  20. More like, stick it out when others can't or won't!!!! Or be the last one standing!!
  21. Hey Everybody!!! I was sleeved 12/19/2011.... Including pre-op I've lost almost 54 pounds, 3 clothes sizes and 1 shoe size...I've also lost 2 band sizes and several cups.. (from a 48DD to a 44C).... didn't have a lot of butt to start w/, but it's lifting... I've done a lot of walking, yoga and Wii sports... i recently joined a gym where I'm doing some weights and stationery bike.... Congrats on your sleeves and/or your sleeve dates!!
  22. Awesome job!! You look wonderful!!
  23. I agree.. and many people on here are even cooler offline!!! LOL... I appreciate you guys too... I've learned to submit to my journey and enjoy every minute of it!!!!
