I have BCBS-IL... after my 6 month weight loss program.. took 2 days for approval..

I had BC/BS at the time of my surgery...from seminar to surgery was 45 days. :)

They actually dropped the 6 month requirement last month I believe.. Basically, it was their proof that you've exhausted all "traditional" methods of losing and maintaining weight loss.

I believe now, all you need is a letter of medical necessity, a few consults and a nutritionist visit...

Anybody live in Texas specifically San Antonio that had the procedure?

Not in San Antonio, but I know a couple of folks who had procedures in Houston.

Well, she's a business owner and saved for the procedure. Neither was in the military. The other was a Louisiana state employee, who probably had BCBS.

I have bcbs primary and secondary insurance and both mine coverd it. As long as u jumped thru all the hoop and meetings and dr appts i would appeal !

I have BCBS IL...I didn't have to do the 6 mth diet...submittal to ins happens tomorrow..and I was told by the ins comp that they cover it as long as I meet their certain requirements. You might want to see if your employer opted out...I have heard that happens a lot...
