Only thing I can think of is eggs and protein shakes.. Also, have you tried Fairlife milk ( 13 grams) and Special K protein Cereal ( 10 grams )? They also make a chocolate milk.

I was a lacto-ovo-peco-tarian ( a vegatarian who eats eggs, milk products, and fish) for a year. I got Protein from cottage cheese, greek yogurt, hummus, Peanut Butter, soy Beans, quinoa, and protien bars.

Everything KristyAB said. There is also a nut milk (cashew and almond) by Silk with 10g of Protein. eggs and dairy have a lot of protein. Grains like quinoa have a lot of protein. And of course, edamame, tofu, seitan, nut butters, Beans and hummus (from chickpeas.)

Totally doable. There are many of us here doing a more plant based diet. I don't worry about Protein and carbs, but I do have an egg and some cheese occasionally. I'm mostly doing vegan though.
There are a few threads under food and Nutrition:Vegetarian and Vegan Eating if you'd like to join and discuss.

I agree. This would be the best standard for which to judge a diet in a perfect world. If our stomachs were normal sized we would only need to supplement B12 if we strictly followed the WFPB and eliminated all animal products from our diets. If you were opposed to taking supplements, you could choose to eat a tiny amount of meat which is what many of the longest lived cultures did, save the vegan Adventists.
The health benefits are only one reason to eliminate meat from your diet. The way in which the animals are raised and treated are another, along with other ethical arguments against eating them. This is a very personal judgement. If I were to continue to eat meat I would seek out a local farm from which to purchase it where I could be sure the animals were raised and slaughtered humanely. However, the environmental reasons to stop eating animal products are something we as a society can not afford to ignore. I won't go into all of it here because it would take a whole book, but anyone that is interested can seek out the many books and documentaries available on this subject.
Once you start investigating the food industry you begin to realize how much you really took for granted.

A lot depends on your starting weight. The less you weigh the slower you will lose. This is the time to let your new "tool" help you learn healthier habits.
Just keep following the program, walk as much as you can, no carbs, high Protein, lots of calorie free liquids and no liquids within a 1/2 hr before/after eating (or drinking a protein shake)

It may feel slow now but when you look back, you will be amazed!

I agree on joining a church, or maybe look for an ADHD support group for a possible babysitter, or resource for babysitters.
Do you have neighbors? Co-workers that could provide a ride?
I wish you well and good luck with finding some help. Don't give up.

Hi, OutsideMatchInside! Thank you for your response. The aunt I mentioned earlier told me about two cousins (whom I wasn't in touch with) who had the procedure done earlier this year. So, I am hoping to establish a local support system with them. Regarding a babysitter, I'll have to carefully review my options when the time comes.

That is your first step, grasshopper.

Get your house in order. Love yourself. Do what's best for you. Make YOURSELF contented beyond your wildest dreams FIRST.

All of these things produce a light inside you that shines brighter as you progress and it attracts light as well.

You will have your pick AFTER that...you can get what you want, not just something to hold on to.

And that's the straight up truth.

At 2 weeks out, I was only eating 4oz of puree. I could have probably eaten a bit more, but stopped there as that was the amount that was advised in my guidelines.
I would keep it at 4oz, which is approximately 1/2 cup of puree per sitting. If you aren't full, it is okay. I doubt you will still feel hunger, but if you do, wait an hour or two and have another 4oz. You just need to get through this phase. Once you start consuming denser foods, you will fill the restriction.
Please don't down Water until you throw up. It might just land you in the hospital.
    Good luck!

Umm.. yeah... you do know that the only thing between you and certain death is a line of staples, right?
Have you ever torn stapled papers apart? Not hard to do, right? How about lets start being cautious with your wounded tummy until it has time to heal. It takes between 6-8 weeks to form the first layer of scar tissue. Until that time, it's possible to create a leak at the staple line. That is why the postop dietary progression is usually 8-9 weeks long.
Drink slowly, measure your purees.. keep it to 4oz. Just because you can consume more doesn't mean you should.
When you get to solid Protein, you'll feel the restriction.. but in the meantime do what you are supposed to do. Curiosity can kill, this early in the game.

Hang in there. The first week is rough, but then you're going to feel so much better! Like James said, walking helps with the gas. Nobody said you had to speed walk...but just moving a bit at a time makes a difference.

I love it but I wouldn't tel anyone else to use it. Always check with you tam. here are some people on here that don't like it. But for myself it is the one that doesn't have a after taste BTW Welcome you wil get a ton of informatin on here. Just take what you need and leave the rest.
