  1. It's not excruciating, more like a dull stomachache most of the time. Unless it's a protein shake or yogurt, it hurts after I eat. And I eat SLOW. And chew like a cow with cud. Plain water still hurts as well, even a sip. Is this normal? I'm happy with my loss, but so tired of hurting all the time.
  2. I understand what you are saying. I no longer get ANY pleasure from food. I guess that's what it takes for me to lose weight, but I'm finding it makes me very irritable.
  3. Clare is right! It will drive you crazy. I wish someone would have told me--it's not My 600lb life and after the commercial you're down a pants size. Youre probably retaining water. It will come off.

    NOT LOOSING WEIGHT

Week 2? You are probably still pumped up with the fluids from the hospital. My doc said she doesn't start looking at weight loss until week 4. I know I wasn't active at my second week. You are going to get on the scale soon and have dropped a lot of weight. It catches up! Try to be patient!!

    55 pounds down! Feeling snacky

Congrats on your loss!! I'm a week later than you, and I too have been wanting to snack. I find myself grazing at night. Usually I keep it low cal, but I know this is a big trigger for me.

    70 lbs since July

    Congrats!!
  7. 3 months out. I've had a couple glimpses into my old life, and I miss it. I'm happy with my loss (about50 lbs), but I've been in a couple situations where I couldn't eat (like my old normal) or drink alcohol. For the most part I don't miss it, but part of me does and I feel sad. Sometimes mad, that I can't be like everyone else. Then I feel like I am just jealous that I can't eat and drink like a piggy without showing the entire world how fat and lazy I am. I've lost 50+ lbs. I've done some kind of exercise every day. But I still feel like the above.

I'm at 3 months as well

    Calories at 3 months

I haven't counted mine lately, but mostly under 1000. I certainly could press it above that, and have, but that's an average . The PA at my surgeons office told me to not follow blogs---they would be discouraging and not "my" journey. But I do and I understand the need to see if you are doing things right. Are you losing?

    Chest pains

That pain was so awful! I feel so bad for you! If it's not better by now call your doc. There is no reason for you to be in that pain for so long.

    You look fantastic!

    Feel sick!!!

I had same experience as you. Thought it was great until it felt like the whole pan was sitting on my chest! Too soon, I guess. I tell myself walking helps with that discomfort. My just be in my head, but by the time I'm done I feel better.

    please help

Could you let us know? I HATE the bariatric vitamins!!! 2 miles Beth's later, they still hurt, make me nauseous and I sweat and then smell like them. It is disgusting!

    Hot Flashes and diarrhea

I'm 8 weeks out, and I've experienced this a few times. I can't nail it down to anything particular--and I, too, know it's not dumping.
  15. I am about 6 weeks out. I'm down about 40lbs. I'm happy with my results so far, but I have constant stomach pain. It's not excruciating, more like a big rock sitting in my stomach. Not just after I eat, all the time. I wake up with it. I don't know if I'm hungry, full, have acid issues or just crazy!! It is worse after I eat. I've tried eating less (stopping way before I am starting to feel full), eating slower, eating different foods, etc, but it's still there. Water is the worst. My doc office says it is normal and go away eventually. I was pretty emotional for a couple of weeks after surgery, but that seemed to level out. I'm getting that way again; so far the only foods that are really comfortable are yogurt and cottage cheese. I've had them every. Single. Day. For 6 weeks. Ok, that sounds like a big pity party!! I'm just tired of being uncomfortable all of the time.

    Regretful!!

I remember feeling like you do! Despite my post about stomach pain, it does get better. Water is the worst! Post op my nutritionist said she always hears that...but apparently it never dawned on her to warn me. I never did like the crystal light stuff, now I drink it all day. I still do very little water (and I was a huge water drinker!). Room temp is easier than cold for some reason. If your reflux is still that bad call the doc and ask for stronger or different meds.

    1 week post op

Yes, you are not alone!! Try to sip as much as possible, you don't want to end up dehydrated. Sugar free popsicles were my main staple, even if I only ate a bit of it at a time.

    I regret this surgery

It has been SO much harder than I thought!!
  19. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]. I'm tired of the shakes, too!!

    Just want to cry

Judge you?? We are all here for the same reason, and I'd bet the farm all of us know the "I just want to eat!" Feeling!! No judgement here!! I totally get wanting to eat something (I had 2 week pre op liquid diet), but try to refrain. Your stomach is healing. It's swollen and raw. Sugar free popsicles and apple juice (1/2 water), ice in the bullet made a slushee that was good. Good luck!

    Regret but not regret

I was told no pills bigger than an aspirin. You can ask the pharmacy if they can be cut in half or crushed. Pills, for me were (and still are 7 weeks out) the worst part. The bigger the pill, the worse it is. Sip what you can. I couldn't get 64oz in for the first few days. Good luck
  22. As long as she's not high at work, I'm perfectly comfortable with it. She won't have a hang over like she would if she drank alcohol.

    Day 2

I didn't take my vitamins for about 30 days. I tried, but got sick each time. I had to go to a group appointment of one-month out people. No one was taking their vitamins bc of pain or nausea. It's slightly better since I can take the capsule now. At the second day, I didn't think anything was easy! Maybe ice chips. I just concentrated on trying to get one ounce down at a time. Good luck! And I hope you don't float away!!
  24. I did that too. As you heal more you'll straighten up. I was babying my incisions.
