  1. We have a huge thread on IF that includes a ton of Dr. Fung stuff among others.
  2. So pretty! Way prettier than mine! LOL. I actually at one more sardine and one more cucumber slice. LOL I actually split my lunch. The first half was a little over an hour ago and it was sesame "rice" with broccoli, sunflower seeds and sesame oil. I didn't take pics.
  3. They have fermented cottage cheese now. I want to try it soon. I also like Daisy the best cuz it only has 2 ingredients: milk, salt.
  4. Wooohoooo! Come one girl! Let's go! Ok food for thought...protein...
  5. Not so much. Sometimes if I do OMAD, then I will down one. Or sometimes I'm just hungry for a green smoothie. Then I will, but it's not for nutritional "needs."
  6. Yeah but all of our "guys" are eye candy. But his vids crack me up! And his voice is soooo deep. It doesn't look like he would have that deep a voice!
  7. 8 Things That Mess Up Your Fasting (Hilarious)
  8. @GreenTealael Good stuff! (I think he's on coke...this is yet another video where his eyes look whack and he keeps wiping his nose--a classic tell. )
  9. Do a small test. And if you have a blood glucose monitor you should try it out. Eat 4oz of Greek Yogurt. unsweetened. nothin with it. no flavor drops. no nada. just the Greek yogurt. Use the lowest carb, lowest sugar brand you can find. Do this test fasting. 1. Take blood sugar before eating (in a fasted state). 2. Eat yogurt. 3. Take blood sugar 30minutes after you start eating. 4. Take blood sugar every 30 minutes afterward at 1 hour, 90 minutes, 2 hours, 2.5 hours, 3 hours, 4 hours. *Assuming your bgs rise initially, then drop very very low somewhere around 2+ hours, this should catch your extreme high from it followed by your extreme low. If you know when the low is gonna happen you can kinda schedule some food to counteract this fall. Such as eat some 1oz of dense protein an hour or 90 minutes after the yogurt meal. By doing that, you're following sugar with protein which helps keep your levels steady. Make a list of all the foods/qties that you test this on. That way it gives you your power back!
  10. cognitive behavior therapy. It's especially useful for people with depression and addictive issues--including food issues. Works great! Essentially: "I "THINK" therefore, I FEEL" which means our cognitions determine our emotions and influence behaviors. Change the cognition or correct the cognition to an unskewed accurate position empowers a person to determine how they will react and relate to the thought or cognition. https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=13&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=2ahUKEwiq4ZKmu7HhAhUHD60KHVZ2BY4QFjAMegQICBAB&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.verywellmind.com%2Fwhat-is-cognitive-behavior-therapy-2795747&usg=AOvVaw2Z44T46l8-TkBr0crEvbwT It's kinda evolved into EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)
  11. Magic always comes with a price. https://www.worldhealth.net/news/erythritol-weight-gain-biomarker/?fbclid=IwAR2QgpgFTkJgJAwZalnrsqBFKxiUNtEPVpadW_xdLDY3CDZC-6Tw_9JtUpM
  12. #2 Start a journal: So I already keep a journal of sorts in MFP and also in excel. If I have something important to write, I'll add it to the notes field. I do CBT and have been practicing it for so many years, it operates below the surface. So I no longer write things out and work through the steps, it just kinda happens quickly on the fly as I recognize repetitive actions/thoughts that disrupt my "real" and accurate thoughts. It's a constant journey with this. Some days are awesome and other days utter flops!
  13. Yay! Glad you're feeling better. It's amazing how important being hydrated is and so important to get that protein in too!! Makes you feel like you have a new lease on life!
  14. Can you go edit your quote to take my stupid pics out of it please? TY!
  15. Hi, I'm in! Goal for this challenge : Reach Goal #3 in my signature (130lbs) Starting weight: 139.4, post surgery RNY on 2/20/18 /Weight Loss Mode & I'm excited for spring. Need to work on my butt and tummy for sure. Need to build strength! I'm proud that I continue to build a new future with food and continue on the journey toward a healthy, fit and strong body, mind, and spirit. #narcissistmuch ? Yeah, still focusing on me. me. me. Marcia! Marcia! Marcia! Updated pics from this weekend at 137.4lbs.
  16. Oh crap sorry! My bad! Will go edit.
  17. DERP! Wait, this isn't March? Where the heck did March go?!
  18. I swear I owe this to autophagy. I'm not kidding. I can see less hanging skin and my hair is finally growing in. I have Audrey Hepburn bangs now! LOL. Month 13 at 137lbs: And here's the comparison B/A: And here is the whole story. As you can see, I'm not exactly wasting away to nothing. My thighs are still large and in charge and although I still have my Gibbs fanny, it's become an old lady booty (flat like a pancake, wide, and droops to my knees. ROFL)
  19. Thanks for the Challenge invite. I'll try to participate in part! Cuz they are so uplifting and motivational. I'm starting a 42-48 hour fast today (last night after dinner) if anyone wants to jump on the fasting train with me? Had a stellar weekend and got to visit with our little nephew (in from Germany for an art show he's having out in LA). He's getting his masters in fine arts in Frankfurt and came through Houston on his way from NY to LA. He's so enormously talented and it was great being with the fam. But now it's Monday and I'm ready to rumble!!!!! IF style! (Oh and I'm 2% BF down since starting these longer fasts. I no longer show as 30% BF on my Tanita! Wooohooo!)
  20. Yep, one step forward, 2 steps back. The fall isn't the issue. We all have 'em. It's the GETTING UP that's important. So make sure you clean out any dribs and drabs today and get back on it strong!!! You'll end up winning Easter and gain confidence in yourself!! And sugar is the debil. So addictive. Love the idea of having "safe" alternatives for a pinch. But you know...I like crutches.
  21. @okayestmom Yikes! Hope you feel better soon!!!! So sorry to hear this!!
  22. Embrace! Embrace! Embrace! Capitalize on your honeymoon period. Let the weight fall off you by the barrel full!!!! Eat only for fuel! Do what you need. Keep is simple and find new pursuits and new ways to get excitement and pleasure. This is a blessed once in a lifetime opportunity. You will likely NEVER feel this way again due to your WLS.
