  1. Froggie, I had to check it out, I have something similar but it's a small food processor with a bullet attachment for smoothies etc... I don't know if you can whip up half and half, I think you need the fat content to do it but you can always try. They make a fat free cool whip and a sugar free cool whip, once you start experimenting with other things you'll find a good substitute for the "real mousse". They make an instant pudding that's sugar free and it's not that bad and also I think I've seen an instant mouse in the grocery store that is sugar free. Now it's not perfect but it's probably the closest thing you'll get to the same consistency and probably just need to wisk it. This is my expertize!!
  2. Okay I'll rephrase for you Plain: "I'd much rather my daughter be an atheist than an Evangelical Christian Nut Job who can't think for his/herself." Is that better?
  3. Have you tried any of the sugar free puddings? I know not the same thing, you must be a gourmet chef. When my daughter was doing her shakes and only had vanilla I bought her all the flavorings they had in the spice isle. Nothing is better than the real deal but you sound creative. There is a contraction that turns skim milk into a whipped cream consistency is that what you have?
  4. I can't tolerate the "Proz" but I have switched to a new antidepressant but they're all pretty much from the same class of drugs. I'm thinking of paying for extreme lipo! Out of pocket, of course! But first I need to get a job.
  5. Can we really fully trust any politician? I've always seen our presidents, especially those in the current era to be figure heads anyway. There is never just one person running the White House or our Country. From what I'm to assume my State will aways vote democratic, which I am by the way but I have been known to cross party lines. It's really difficult to get the straight scoop on anyone in the news. JMO.
  6. Glad to hear it:thumbup:
  7. Baires, I guess I'm more like what you described in your second paragraph, that there is a goodness (godlike) quality present in all things. I still choose not to put a label on myself but that sits well with me. brandyII.
  8. Dustydog, They gave us a patch for nausea, did they give her anything for it? It really helped my daughter and I after the anesthesia. Good luck and health to her and you of course too, brandyII:smile:
  9. Kat, Thanks for your honesty and you have a lot of friends!! brandyII:smile:
  10. I think you and I must be somewhat similar when it comes body types or something. I'll ask my doctor next time I see him, my primary, if he'd order me a test, he'd do it on a heartbeat! Not that I'd be surprised at the results or anything or if it's really necessary. I already know I need many less calories than probably someone who was my age, weight, sex, height, I don't know why but I do recall the last two times I was able to lose weight was 1. on the all liquid Medifast diet prior to surgery and that goes without saying that it was about 600 cals a day and 2. when I was on Meridia but was also off my antidepressants and had almost a nauseous feeling which kept me down to a low caloric intake too. I can exercise but unless I taking in a lower calorie intake than I'd like I won't lose and it sucks!!!!!! I can't do Meridia again because I refuse to go off my antidepressants because it makes me into a crazy beeeatch so in order for me stick with a lower intake of calories I'd have to go back to Medifast!! I've come full circle and then kind of made a pretzel!:scared2:Help!!

Does it always work out after spanking a child. I mean you spank a child once does that mean they will never offend again? It's the same thing, just another method of discipline, don't know what's so complicated about it. Kids are kids, it's part of their make up to test the limits. Giving them a time out may make it more painful for the parent than the child but it's still a manner of discipline. I think it's easier in the long run for parents to spank than to use other methods which we've previously gone over before.
  12. Darn Mac, I was hoping to see that one too!
  13. Athinnerdenise, She's doing well and looks great! I don't know how much weight she's actually lost but over the past two months, most of it prior to surgery, she's lost a lot and is smiling again and is getting a bit more active. The heat has hit us hard in our area as we're known for our pretty mild summers. I know it will all go in stages for her and I can't tell her what to do but I can be there to help her if she wants it or guide her towards someone or some place. Naturally I worry about the future and what it hold for her but she's still young and I think that once she gets used to her new body she'll be able to deal with all the good and bad that comes along with it. How do they do that resting metabolic test? I also hope that there are changes that come along with studying obesity in medicine and more is done to make things better for us in general. I don't know anyone personally who has had the surgery, either surgeries so I can't compare and contrast just from what I know from various sources including this forum. For her this is her dream come true pretty much and I just have to have faith that she'll do well. I wish both our daughters well and thanks for asking. Nancy:smile:
  14. luluc, How can they hate god if they don't believe in a god?
  15. There's a paranormal competition show that's on one of the channels, it might be FX and they get points for figure out different situations. Some are dealing with live people and others dead. Some do much better with the dead! It's pretty cool, I'm glad I don't see dead people:lol: I think there's going to be a new show soon with children who have "the gift" or the curse which ever you want to call it. I think it's really difficult for children, I've seen shows on it before and they're pretty much outcasts and stressed!
  16. Wheetsin, Just went to site, still:lol::biggrin::wink_smile::thumbdown::lol:thanks, brandyII.
  17. Even at my lowest fill amount for some reason a hard boiled egg is still the hardest thing for me to eat, scrambled fine, just not the egg white by itself! I think cereal is easy because you've got milk along with it so it's going to go through your pouch. I usually eat shredded wheat as it's so full of Fiber and fills me up more than let's say a flake type cereal or an oatmeal which would go through me even quicker. I'm the "queen" of the go through the band eaters so I think I know what I'm talking about. It's just another example of how we all have the lap band but we all seem to work it differently and some are working it in unhealthy ways. I hope you get it unfilled for a while and try to eat normally. I know everyone feels differently at different fill levels but you still have a band there and it can catch certain foods even if it's not filled very much. So focus on your health for now, good luck brandyII.
  18. Mrs. Flipflops, I don't know that many people who are atheists and can only speak for myself. I really couldn't teach my children about god and the whole Christian thing because I really didn't fully believe it myself. It had nothing to do with losing my faith, I guess because even though it was kind of forced on me ever since I was a child I never felt it to be something I could accept logically and whole heartedly. Historically I could accept certain things but totally let it engulf me in a spiritual sense is another thing. And I am the type of person that if I don't really fully believe in something I'm not going to pretend I do and put those beliefs on my children.
  19. I just asked my daughter, as this is her baby but of course she lives with me still so what can I say. Anyway she thinks her birthday was 3/28. They said she's been eating like a little piggy and that she wants to feed on her own and we could have gotten her sooner but my daughter had the RNY two weeks ago and I wanted to make sure she was healthy enough to take the trip to go down and also to take care of the Momiji when she gets her! She wants her to bond with her and not me and I'm fine with that because all the other animals have bonded with me and it's one less animal to feed but of course I'm excited to have her and it should be a real treat! I've heard they can regress and may want to be hand fed again so that's something we'll be prepared for and don't think it will be a problem. I love the name Scooter B, it's really cute. Tootie is cute too! I'm hoping since Momiji is going to be so smart she'll help me with the dogs! She was raised around a lot of dogs so although I'm still going to be very careful it's definitely a plus! Since my daughter had the gastric bypass I guess they will both be introduced to new foods at the same time. It's definitely a whole new world for us as we've never had a parrot of this size before or this smart! My daughter has already lectured me that if she comes home and finds Momiji saying something stupid that she assumes I taught her, well I forget what she said she'd do but I'm on strict orders not to teach it anything, like that's going to happen:lol::biggrin:! Thanks KC, although it is my daughter's bird, I have to keep saying that, as I've heard this so many times from her, I'm really excited and since she's 19 and I'm 48 I'm assuming she'll outlive me and should be able to take care of her. We've had our cockatiels for over 10 years I think, maybe longer. I always had a parakeet ever since I was a little girl, so I've always loved birds but this is a whole new ballgame! We're suppose to quarantine them from each other for a while so they won't meet yet I suppose. I also have to get an avian vet which I should have gotten by now! So that's a good reminder for me to get on the phone and searching. Anyway thanks I'm sure I'll be chatting with you as we go through Scooter B and Momiji's trials and tribulations together, take care Nancy.
  20. If you were raised by atheists isn't it possible that you never believed there was a god? So in that sense aren't turning away from "god" because you never believed in the first place.
  21. I love that sign, where do you get them? brandyII. Also, I still say if men come to your door in suits it's never a good idea to answer it!
  22. Wow, I wish I had a pain pump! My daughter had gastric bypass surgery about two weeks ago and that pain pump was her best friend! I hope things get better for you I know it's frustrating. Take care brandyII.
  23. Mac, are you a professor?
  24. It's not easy to pull off pink, but really not easy to pull off blue if you're blond and it turns your hair green like my daughter who got to live with that for a while!
