WOW you look amazing ! Such a nice fit ?
  2. All of these baked goods *almost* made me want to bake! ?
  3. Surprisingly good grilled chicken tenders from Cracker barrel (the creepiest decorated chain Restaurant IMHO ?) This is a “during” pic as I remembered to take it after I began eating. Missing from the photo are the mashed potatoes. Plenty of leftovers ,possibly two more meals
  4. Have you been tested for parasite infections?
  5. I usually get soup if I eat at Panera. I really liked the turkey chili. Here’s a link to their nutritional information https://www.panerabread.com/content/dam/panerabread/documents/nutrition/Panera-Nutrition.pdf
  6. I’ll raise your wager ? One of those beauties would make my life hell, but they look very nice!
  7. It happened right after surgery for me. Everything tasted too sweet or salty. All flavors and smells seemed to be exaggerated. Protein shakes absolutely had to be watered down, I would skip adding salt in my food. I can’t handle the smell of eggs. The change is still in effect for me (almost 4 yrs later)
  8. Now I’m intrigued… The closet thing I could find to what you’re describing is the hypothesis of “Thrifty Genes”. Is that what you meant? https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/pdf/10.3132/dvdr.2006.010 https://journals.biologists.com/jeb/article/221/Suppl_1/jeb167254/34007/The-evolution-of-body-fatness-trading-off-disease https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/23862645/ Also when my hunger returned post op, I ate salads because they were filler foods that were high in water and/or fiber. Both of which helped to prevent me from overeating higher calorie foods.
  9. Fever and very rapid heart rate *can* be a sign something is wrong. If you are in increasing pain and health seems to be declining (over a short period time) instead of improving, please don’t hesitate to let your team know Good Luck! https://jetmedicaltourism.com/signs-and-symptoms-of-gastric-sleeve-leak/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4194572/#__sec2title https://www.urmc.rochester.edu/encyclopedia/content.aspx?contenttypeid=134&contentid=154 https://doctormarvin.com/after-surgery/post-op-laparoscopic-sleeve-gastrectomy-concerns/
  10. Agreed, sounds like stricture, esophageal dysphagia or even reflux. Are you still on PPI’s? Either way let your team know immediately Good Luck ❤️
  11. I’m hoping your team figures it out and it’s a simple fix ❤️
  12. Probably expect to lose a little right after surgery then gain a little once you’re back on solids and feeling better! It should balance out (in theory) especially if your surgeon says they expect you to not lose much
  13. I was converted from VSG to RNY at my goal weight. I initially loss weight from the surgery because of lack of appetite and stricture. As soon as I could after dilation I went back to my normal calories and eating routine. I bounced back up to my pre revision weight and have maintained close to it for over 2 years.
  14. The only thing I can think of is to ask if someone can check if you have H. Pylori (or a parasite) Also if the malabsorption of magnesium is happening in your GI track, ask if you can use a topical supplement as well (vitamin patch or topical magnesium oil/cream) I hope you feel better soon ❤️
  15. I agree with @Lynnlovesthebeach The hope is that you’ll actually be able to eat so no major additional losses should happen but ask your surgeon for certain
  16. It has only been a week and sometimes the fluids they give you in hospital need to work their way out before you start to see any progress Promise, exciting changes are coming soon! ❤️
  17. You have extra energy now! It’s probably been a while since you’ve felt it but you’ll get used to it eventually and figure out what to use it on. Congratulations!
  18. Did they tell you what the “program”included? Classes? All specialists and preop appointments? If the surgeon created that timeline (vs insurance approval) you may not be able to speed it up. Sadly, Insurance approval is only submitted when all of the requirements are completed. I believe the average time insurance has to return any authorization is 30 days or less from the time the request is submitted but definitely check your policy to make sure. ❤️
  19. You will need to talk to the surgeon about the length of the bypass and optimizing it for either additional weight loss or just maintaining your current weight. This *might* dictate how much additional weight you might lose.
  20. Not a meal but I have a carrot I needed to share !
