UTI treatment
I only need to take a few doses when it “feels” like I’m going to have a UTI and it’s gone. I haven’t had a full blown UTI in years since I’ve started using D-mannose.

You can also take straight D-Mannose. It works really well.

American portion sizes are certainly out of control.

Food Before and After Photos
I usually just order one item (usually dessert if it’s less calories than a salad ?) and never even finish it. How I was conned into sharing an appetizer is beyond me.

Totchoes (tater tot Nachos) This was someone else’s appetizer but I had about 10 and was too full to eat what I ordered (turkey burger) I really do forget sometimes that I cannot eat large portions until I eat out. Anyone else randomly forget about real world portion sizes?

Has anyone had the Beltline Procedure?
I believe some practices call this a circumferential abdominoplasty or even a lower body lift (correct me if I am wrong) Either way it’s fabulous. At my surgeon’s recommendation, I staged my plastics to do the front first (abdominoplasty and mastoplexy) then the back (posterior body lift and misc.) so it was essentially the same in the end. I am very satisfied. Pros: *Very good at removing all latitudinal excess skin *One surgery so one healing period. *Completely worth it. Cons: *If you gave any longitudinal play you’ll a need fleur de lis also (or something along those lines). *Rather large incision so you’ll need to protect it from tension in a lot of areas. *Cost more than just abdominoplasty alone. One small piece of advice- go with the most skilled/accredited surgeon (within your budget) that consistently delivers great results on bodies that looks like yours. Good Luck!

Why isnt it working?
I would go right back to my surgeon and ask what’s next. It could be a combination of seeing nutritionist and therapist, therapist and drug intervention, drug intervention and diagnostic tests, etc. If you haven’t asked your team for help yet, that’s where you may want to start. Until you get some professional guidance you can try to *meticulously* track your food and drinks. It’s amazing how problematic guessing calories can be to progress. Don’t give up and good luck ❤️

Looking forward to the Double Take
Take it back out, immediately ?

I encouraged my vegan child to cook today instead if only eating vegan convenience foods. She made the bruised kale salad (I made the beans and sweet potato) She still ate the vegan chicken but I’ll count this as a win and hope for the best when college begins.

Tips for getting into the revision mindset
I wasn’t particularly excited to be converted from VSG to RNY either but I knew I needed to do it. I was eating specifically to avoid GERD flare ups towards the end. Surprisingly my lifestyle is nearly identical between the surgeries except I’m super careful with (known) dumping triggers. There was a small adjustment period but other than that not much of a difference EXCEPT GERD has been gone for 3 yrs and counting. Good Luck!

Shredded Chicken Gordita (B & A) I made it about 75% through but maybe I should have stopped sooner because it was surprisingly heavy on protein.

Looks good! I eat bananas once every few months. But when I do it usually all in the same week (because no one else wants bananas all of a sudden)- Unhappy with bariatric surgery 1 year later
1. I’ve confirmed with my team that taking laxatives long term is not an issue. 2. Absolutely! I have a “normal” appetite. I can get really hungry but also I can wait to eat better than before surgery so this is a huge improvement. Also there are exciting new medicines on the market (and in trials for weight loss) that targets appetite suppression (wegovy, ozempic and mounjaro) so there’s more hope. 3. Yes. A million times yes. It was hard for me to see the finished product of what I worked for until I had plastic surgery. That route is not *necessary* or even desirable for everyone, but it is a solution for those who want to explore it. Good luck and never give up ❤️- Food Before and After Photos
