tabula got a reaction from WiseBeauty in Just Starting Out/using CPAP First
If it were me, I'd figure out how to self pay and get it done in Mexico. Seems like they're becoming the world's expert and is much more cost effective than in the US. Also, there are a lot of good information on here and out there about options in Mexico.
I couldn't lose weight without the surgery so I saved until I had enough to get started, which is helping me be EXTRA focused on the success as it literally costs me every month.
    I wish you luck.
PS. I have severe sleep apnea and have used my cpap every night for over 3 years, can't imagine not having it but it took 6 months to get used to it and a year before I used it every night. Traveling with it sucks though.

Wish I had your will power, it's almost harder than not eating that delicious unhealthy donut in the breakroom.
However, I do think that once you're in the last phase it is important to monitor your progress in case you're going a little off the rails so you can self correct. I think weekly is ideal vs daily. Right now I'm every other day. baby steps right?

I was surprised at how long the gas in my body stayed around, I want to say it was a week. It was uncomfortable but not painful, just kept moving around and drank lots of Water.
    Sorry that's not very helpful.

Protein and Water are clearly the most important. I don't know any tricks and I felt similar and just forced myself to do it (albeit very slowly).
Your appetite picks up but I still don't have any hunger (thank god).
I'd set a schedule and just commit to having X by Y.
    Good luck

Agreed with calling your doc. I don't feel that I've heard/seen that issue. I'm about at the same point and am doing fine with regular food.
Make sure you're still doing the little bites, I'm told the size of my thumbnail and to chew it very good 20 - 30 times and to go slow. Takes a while for your stomach to tell your brain it's full. Generally a meal is taking me 30 min to an hour to eat.
If I'm not paying attention and eat it in 15 mins, I find out I ate too much too quick and get stomach pains but no nausea yet.

It's really a weird sensation. Water started to get easier and easier to get it in without having to take little sips. I find when there is no food in my stomach I can drink quite a bit of water, No gulps but regular drinks. I drink a Protein Drink with out the wait time before or after I've had water.
However, now that I'm eating regular food, i do have to wait the 30mins to an hour after eating or it does hurt.
My guess, liquid passes through with out any substance.

It was after clear liquid stage for me, so on day 8.
I take the Celebrate Vitamins, calcium chews (berry is the best) and the chewable multi with Iron, however, they were fine before but now burn my throat and I cringe when i take them. If I didn't by 120 I'd already switch to a pill form.

I can sympathize, I'm currently in a stall and feel it's going to be a longer one. I just started working out and haven't adjusted my caloric intake for it. I'm hoping it's because I'm not eating enough, consistent at eating 900 cals but probably burning an extra 300 from exercise. Going to try to go up to 1,200 and see what happens.
Good luck, keep going, I'm sure it'll move again, so many people on here talk about stalls at different points in their journey.
Also, sounds like you're doing well, my guess is your scale is broken

I have a 64oz bottle in my hand constantly which reminds me to take a drink and once I'm done I'm done. I get the sugar free Water flavor enhancers and that helps change it up.
    Good luck!

I didn't have nausea or diarrhea either. There is "gas" pain initially but it's not typical, feels like a stomach ache but agree with the walk walk walk. Didn't have a catheter either. I flew 2 weeks later and was fine.

Have you tried the Premier Protein shakes? I really like the vanilla, try different flavors until you find one you like. Also, there is a product called Isopure, which has a ton of Protein and may flavors, I have to dilute with Water because I don't like the taste.
Also, you can get whey Protein Powder and make your own, just make sure to limit the sugar.
As you know getting enough protein is super critical to our success.
    Good luck!

I think it'd be weird if you didn't have doubts. Surgery is a big deal and shouldn't be decided lightly.
For me, it was really my last option, the trajectory I was on was going to put me at significant medical risks, so I looked at the pros vs cons and realized the pros were more than worth it. I was worried because my life is work and food and for me this takes a great deal of satisfaction out from eating, however, there is still enjoyment from a sugar free Jello and other foods I took for granted.
Nearly 7-weeks out, I couldn't be happy with how I feel and I've been recommending it to all my obese friends who have struggled with their weight their entire lives.
    It's a legit game changer.

That's awesome, feels good doesn't it. I have the same feelings about watching people eat and I have to catch myself and realize without my WLS, I'd being doing the same thing!
I was at D&B and my sister's meal was 1,500 cals and I'm like that'd take me two days to eat!!!
Fortunately, I don't really have any cravings and hope it stays that way for a long time. Right now some Deli Turkey and Cottage cheese gets me through the day
    Congrats!

I understand where you're coming from and don't blame you for wanting your child to lose her weight naturally. Surgery is a big deal and it's not 100% solution, it's a tool to help you get healthy. When I was getting my surgery, it was 50/50 from people saying GREAT vs ARE YOU SURE?
I've struggled with my weight since college and yo-yo dieting is not good on your body or emotions. The older and bigger you get the harder it is to get off.
My insurance didn't cover and I paid out of pocket which for me makes me even more determined to lose 100% and keep it off.
She'll need the support to be successful and as been mentioned in prior posts, look at the statistics of obesity and mortality, the young more obese you are the worse off you are.
I too which I had done this in my 20s vs 30s. Remember it's a tool to weight loss, not a magic bullet. I think most of us are here because we couldn't do it without a tool like this.
So you know this is the best decision I've ever made and am extremely happy.

I flew from Dallas to San Francisco 2 weeks after surgery and was fine. I drank a Protein Shake before I went through security and then bought a bottle of Water before I boarded the plan.
Just get up a few times and walk the aisle.
I had no problems what's so ever and for the first time in a long time I didn't need an extender #howbowdah
