That I am physically stronger than I thought I was. I am a strong person mentally. What I put my mind to I accomplish. I never give up and I don't quit.
But due to medical issues my body was not as strong. Now down 30lbs and feeling great I am doing things I onky dreamed of. Many people take walking fir granted, but when you are big with lymphedema its,a struggle. Due to having a pool and started walking I am now walking like never before. I just did 2.35mi this morning on my walk.
I am getting my body stronger to match my mindset and that is just blowing me away.
At 57, I am on my way to one bad ass physical transformation from sickly, disabled , old lady, to healthy , strong
    Powerhouse !!!!

6 weeks out yesterday and I couldn't be happier!!
I don't have any pics yet but thought I would share some of my sleeve adventure for those on the same road or those considering this surgery.
    The Wins!
    1) 17.1kgs down at 6 weeks out mark (37.7 lbs)
    2) My fat feet/cankles have shrunk - down 2 buckles holes on the work shoes!
    3) Fat clothes I hated being given away to charity
    4) Fitting into clothes I haven't worn in easily 5 years
    5) Energy levels are great and sleeping well
    6) All this extra time in hand now to do stuff! I'm not eating or thinking about what my next meal will be or thinking about food at all really
    7) Snoring reduced significantly
    8) Had terrible heartburn prior to surgery - NONE after!
The strange head stuff I wasn't super prepared for:
    1) Going from craving breads/carbs/sweets to craving meat and cheese Like never before
    2) Regretting going out because buying a meal is just a waste of money. This NEVER EVER was a problem before - there was never anything left on the plate!
    3) Looking forward to exercise - umm wtf? This just cannot be right
    4) Staying the same number on the scale for 3 weeks but centimetres lost from my body
    5) Not being able to stand sweet things. I used to love lollies/candy/cake. Now even the smell makes me feel quite nauseous
    6) Forcing myself to eat when really I could skip a meal and not be concerned
    7) Taking 30mins to eat something I previously would have scoffed in 2-3 mouthfuls
Overall I just wish I hadn't delayed this surgery at all. I was a lucky person with minimal pain, no reflux and easy recovery.
My only concern right now is the keloid scars I have from the wounds. I'm a very fair caucasian female now with thick red ropey scars. Currently trying CircaCare collagen Patches on them to try and reduce the redness and raised look. Will share my before and after pics if it works well as might help others. I did know this was a risk with my skin before going in, and to be honest, even if they don't go away, I don't really care as everything else is working out well.
Hoping to be under 100kgs, and lost over 20kgs for my birthday at the end of June!

I am officially 2 weeks post-op and today is the day I get my ONE egg! I have been patiently waiting for this moment. I made it soft-boiled, with a touch of salt and pepper. I'm about halfway done- and getting full. This is crazy! I remember when I could knock out a 4-egg omelette to myself!
Next week I get to start yogurts, shaved turkey, soft fish, etc. For now? This egg is the bomb!! So tired of liquids

GM! Everyone ! I had my surgery February 20/17! And I can truly say this is the best decision of my life! I worked out everyday at the YMCA did all kind of diets ate clean foods drunk a gallon of Water everyday but still couldn't get out of the 200 lb mark! I decided to take full control of my destiny and have the sleeve surgery on February 20/17 I have a family history of diabetes and high blood pressure and congested heart failure! After seeing my parents and both grandparents struggle with these illnesses, I didn't want my children to have to deal with me going through the same! So I had the sleeve done at Ochsner in Baton Rouge, LA with Dr. Kim! And as of today I am down from a size 18 to a twelve and still losing! My goal is a 6! I weighed this morning and I have lost 40 lbs! I can't tell you how excited I am! I'm finely out of the 200 lbs mark! If you are trying to decide to have this surgery ! Like NIKE say! Just Do It! By the way no one wanted me to have it done! But it's my body my life and I made my own mine up! Now they are saying how good I look lol ! That's all for now! Just feeling myself today! Be Blessed !
