  1. Holy macaroni! You looks amazing!! One hot lady [emoji91][emoji91]
  2. 6 weeks out yesterday and I couldn't be happier!! I don't have any pics yet but thought I would share some of my sleeve adventure for those on the same road or those considering this surgery. The Wins! 1) 17.1kgs down at 6 weeks out mark (37.7 lbs) 2) My fat feet/cankles have shrunk - down 2 buckles holes on the work shoes! 3) Fat clothes I hated being given away to charity 4) Fitting into clothes I haven't worn in easily 5 years 5) Energy levels are great and sleeping well 6) All this extra time in hand now to do stuff! I'm not eating or thinking about what my next meal will be or thinking about food at all really 7) Snoring reduced significantly 8) Had terrible heartburn prior to surgery - NONE after! The strange head stuff I wasn't super prepared for: 1) Going from craving breads/carbs/sweets to craving meat and cheese Like never before 2) Regretting going out because buying a meal is just a waste of money. This NEVER EVER was a problem before - there was never anything left on the plate! 3) Looking forward to exercise - umm wtf? This just cannot be right 4) Staying the same number on the scale for 3 weeks but centimetres lost from my body 5) Not being able to stand sweet things. I used to love lollies/candy/cake. Now even the smell makes me feel quite nauseous 6) Forcing myself to eat when really I could skip a meal and not be concerned 7) Taking 30mins to eat something I previously would have scoffed in 2-3 mouthfuls Overall I just wish I hadn't delayed this surgery at all. I was a lucky person with minimal pain, no reflux and easy recovery. My only concern right now is the keloid scars I have from the wounds. I'm a very fair caucasian female now with thick red ropey scars. Currently trying CircaCare collagen Patches on them to try and reduce the redness and raised look. Will share my before and after pics if it works well as might help others. I did know this was a risk with my skin before going in, and to be honest, even if they don't go away, I don't really care as everything else is working out well. Hoping to be under 100kgs, and lost over 20kgs for my birthday at the end of June!

    VSG 4/12/17

It's funny how this journey happens. I really thought I'd feel bad about people eating things in front of me and wondered how I'd cope. Well yesterday one of my family members bought a burger from McDonald's and had it at home and the smell of it made me feel sick! I left the room because it smelled so bad. So many of those things i thought were nice just arent now. Everything tastes ridiculously sweet to me now, even milk! Coffee now even tastes wrong! So yes mentally getting over those wants when they aren't really what your body wants is the hard part for sure!
  8. I was sleeved on April 20 - on day 3 post op now. Going well, haven't had much pain or any problems, just uncomfortable gas every time, which I am sure is to be expected. However, I have found that having my liquid meals standing up/walking around is the only way to relieve the gas and actually burp. So now I eat standing up! Anyone else doing this and how long I might expect to be doing this for??

How long is the hospital stay

Two nights in hospital. This was to ensure pain was controllable, that i could go to the toilet myself and also do a swallow test x-ray to ensure no ruptures or leakage.
  11. Great post! And you not only look amazing but so much happier! Congrats![emoji2]
  12. Another 420 here... Except in Oz it's 204 Only a few days to go!

Starting my preop liquid diet soon

I'm on pre-op diet at the moment. Allowed Diet Jelly which has helped. Best thing I have found, at dinner I have shake and veges. I made zucchini 'pasta' and creamy cauliflower sauce. Sounds crazy but cauliflower whipped up as a sauce tasted amazing and makes me satisfied. Look up cauliflower sauce on the Internet! IT's only temporary, and time will go by quickly

    April sleevers!?

    20th also!
  16. Hi All, I'm getting sleeved on April 20 and my WLS program doesn't include psych as a part of it. I am considering wether pursuing this myself as others I know who have had the surgery commented about mental state as now they have so much time on hand now they aren't preoccupied with eating or thinking about it as much as they did previously. I am definitely an emotional eater and worried about how this will impact my success. Any sleevers have advice about success and psych/counselling through the process?
