  1. I think it is normal. They told me it could come and go for about 4 weeks.
  2. I am feeling much better. I went back to work yesterday. I am glad I took a week off. I know some people go back sooner, but I was not ready. I have lost 8 pounds in one week! Glad everyone is doing ok.
  3. I was banded on May 22, and even though it has only been a week, I already feel like it was the best decision I ever made. I felt the same way as you, I had major second thoughts and almost canceled it altogether. I will admit, I had a rough time the first few days, I felt terrible, and I don't know how some people go back to work so fast. But I feel great now. And I have lost 8 pounds in one week! So I say go for it.
  4. Thanks for the advice. I try to ignore it, but that doesn't work very long!
  5. I had my surgery 1 week ago today and everything has been fine except I am waking up in the middle of the night about 2 am STARVING. It is the worst pains. It feels like spasms. I mentioned it to the nurse and she said it is probably my blood sugar dropping around that time and it is waking me up. She said to try eating something before I go to bed. I have tried that, but it is still happening. I haven't slept a full night since the surgery because of having to get up and eat. Has anyone else had this happen? I don't know how much longer I can take it.
  6. Hi, I am taking generic chewable centrums I got at Walgreens. I am also taking 1200 mg of chewable calcium a day. I got them at Walgreens too.
  7. I am feeling much better today, but I woke up with awful hunger pains! I am also having trouble with my bra. It is rubbing up against my incision.
  8. I had my surgery yesterday and I am in a lot of pain as well, mostly where the insions are. I hope it goes away soon.
  9. I'm glad everyone did well. I am having quite a bit of pain. They gave me some liquid pain meds, and it is helping some. I can only lay on my right side without much pain. Any other position kills me.
  10. Hey, how was everyone's surgery? Mine went ok, I am just very very sore. I got pretty sick when I woke up, but today I am feeling better. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I am not hungry at all, and in fact, I am having to make myself eat. Never thought I'd ever say that!!
  11. I can't wait either. I am ready to have it done already!
  12. Thank you for sharing. My surgery is tomorrow and I am very nervous.
  13. Yea, the nailpolish thing is weird. They also said no makeup, but I wasn't planning on wearing it anyway! I had to start my liquid diet today, and it has been very hard. I hope it is easier after the surgery.
  14. They gave me a bottle at the hospital. They also told me I couldn't wear nailpolish! Very strange.
  15. Does anyone else have to use an antiseptic the night before and the morning of surgery? I was told I have to today, I have never heard of it.
  16. I am in Cleveland, TN.
  17. I went today for my preop tests and the upper GI. That stuff I had to drink was really gross! Only 3 more days!!!
  18. I'm in Cleveland, TN, not far from Chattanooga. So we aren't that far apart. Dr Paynter is my doctor. I am getting more nervous everyday!
  19. I think it is a week. I remember after my gallbladder surgery, I wasn't supposed to drive for a week.
  20. Yes, me too. Where are you Di4AU? I am in Tennesee.
  21. I feel sorry for everyone on the preop liquid diet. I only have to do it for 24 hours before surgery. I honestly don't think I could do it any longer. I am getting very nervous about surgery.
  22. I am scheduled for May 22, and I feel like you do. I keep asking myself why am I spending this much money on this? But then I think about how long I have wanted it. I have been looking into the Lap Band for YEARS. Now that I'm approved and it's about to happen, I'm not as excited as I thought I would be. I also never thought I would get up to 250 pounds. I am very scared of the actual surgery, but going on like this (FAT) is not an option. That is the main thing I keep thinking about.
  23. Wow, I paid $95 for the psych AND nutrition evals, and I thought that was a lot.
  24. I am also having a hard time finding the chewable and liquid vitamins. The Walmart in my area must no carry them.
  25. The 6 months will go by a lot faster than you think! Good luck!
