Here come the haters!
Ok, so I haven't had the surgery yet, but do have a story/question that applies. In college I was in the process of losing about 40lbs. Worked out every day and was careful about what I ate. Ate a meal with an older (40ish) friend, and she commented on how little I was eating/how much exercising. Worried I was becoming anorexic. My question... when people see a plump person exercising and eating 2 bites, it is ok. They are working hard, "dieting". But what happens when we get to goal weight, and we are still exercising and eating two bites? Or does our tummies stretch enough that we are eating what appears to be smallish normal meals? Nail polish remover is very drying. I have slathered my hands in lotion, then covered them with cotton gloves to sleep. Worked well. Good luck! +1 more Water too... Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Tricare insurance requirements
Well, I've been seeing my PCP for several years, and she has always counseled me on my weight (documented). Wonder if that qualifies... I'll see her tomorrow. Guess we'll see! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Tricare insurance requirements
"Proof of Previous attempts for non surgical treatment of obesity" Ok guys, what does that mean? I have Tricare North Prime Remote. Also required are 8 outpatient behavioral health visits. How long should that take? (How often do those visits usually happen?). Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Increasing volume intake
Are you asking how much you can swallow in one gulp, or how much you are consuming in a sitting? I think if that is one swallow, it sounds about right. If that is how much you are taking in (in total), then it can be increased. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Diabetic pre op diet
Ask your doc for a medication plan due to the dramatic diet change. You may be able to take less medicine from the start. (Particularly if you are on insulin). Better to take less meds than have to consume more to keep up with the meds. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Motivation or lack there of
When I feel this way, I often find a shower helps. Shower, brush teeth, get dressed in workout clothes, get shoes on, and by the time I've done all that, I'm ready to go do. I know people like to shower after, and I usually do too, but just to get up and going... Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Did you find love again?
Sit down and make a list of all the positives of living alone. There are many! I'll start you off: 1. You only have to buy groceries for you. 2. No more socks left on the floor that aren't yours. 3. You don't have to compromise on... Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Denial about my weight
8 years ago my hubby went for 4 months to army training. I lost 30lbs while he was gone, and he didn't recognise me when he got off the plane. That was great! Too bad I immediately began piling on after that... 100lbs in a year. *sigh* Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Here come the haters!
@@CrowMilk the meal plan I'll be following says that I can have up to 4 ounces of juice a day. Dilute it with Water to make 8 ounces. The juice should be 100% orange, apple, grape, etc. As for lemonade, maybe put a tablespoon of straight lemon juice in a glass of water. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Liquid diet.. cream soup?
There is a reason it seems every Dr. has a different post-op protocol. Every one of them have made a "best guess" as to what the stomach can handle, and when. For example: If the surgeon starts with a 3 day, clear liquid recommendation, and finds patients have problems with milk on day 4, the surgeon may modify his protocol. Over time, the protocol gets refined based on experience. So, the Surgeons find that Protein consumption must resume asap, so they try protein shakes during the "clear liquid" stage, find they are tolerated, and voila! New protocol. having some feelings in 6th month after sleeve
Sounds like your doctors are saying your body is still making too much insulin, and it will eventually figure out that you don't need so much. In the mean time, make sure to eat correctly. 3 Protein first meals and 1-2 Snacks. If your symptoms increase, or change again, definitely get checked out more. Keep a record of your body temperature (use a thermometer), so you can see if you ARE hot, or just feel that way. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

WLS with five kids
From reading these boards, surgery truly isn't an "easy" way out of obesity. Your family will still see you diet and exercise, the same as without the surgery. The only real difference is after the surgery we physically couldn't eat the whole pie, ever again in one sitting... but we could eat it in a day. It will be up to us to just say no (the same as without surgery). Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Denial about my weight
This summer I had to sell my horse. My hubby took pictures and video of her while I was leading her around. Those glimpses of me in the footage were shocking to me... It's amazing how I just can't see myself, even while looking in the mirror! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
