STUPID question.. abt measuring/weighing
What a great question! I have the same one. Measuring food by weight helps with the calorie/nutrient count. But, if a goal is to not stretch the stomach, then it does seem the volume is as (or more) important than weight. What does a person do about things like salad? It seems like we should measure first, then weigh.??? Also, should the measuring cup have packed down food or not? (Some things this would double or triple how much can fit). Loss of feeling in stomach and legs.
When in doubt, ask the surgeon. Might be he/she clipped a nerve during surgery. The shingles' effects could take a while to resolve completely too. Hope it gets better soon! Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Anyone had thoughts of not doing surgery ?
This is exactly what I have found. A year ago I went gluten free. Didn't limit potion sizes, but lost 15lbs in 6 weeks. Had this gnawing hunger the entire time. Tried some bread, hunger went away... bam! Off the diet, gained back the 15, plus 15 more for good measure. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Help please with constant sickness and diarrhoea
Are you continuing to be seen by doctors? They need to keep looking at you. I assume they think it is a viral infection, since no antibiotics. 2 months is too long for a virus. Can you take Probiotics? You might try loading up on them while waiting to see the doc. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Lemon
I imagine the problem is acidity. Likely for the esophagus, rather than the stomach (stomach acid is more potent than lemons!). Just a guess... Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Early stall
Your body is trying to heal and needs to hold onto Water to do so. No worries! The early days are about healing from surgery and learning how to drink and eat. The true weight loss (fat loss) happens later. Put away the scale! If you must have a record, do once weekly weigh ins. (And maybe let someone else do the record keeping!) What was your moment?
The last time I heard of bariatric surgery was back in the 90s when it was really dangerous (at least my perception of it). I just woke up one day and started looking into it. Have no idea where the idea came from, though I started thinking about a family reunion coming up, and how embarrassed I always am to see that side of the family. 7 Months out gastric sleeve
Definitely something to mention to your surgeon. Any sort of "back sliding" is cause for discussion. (Not necessarily concern though, so don't panic!) Are you still drinking Protein shakes? They might help get you more energy. Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Drinking Seltzer during the pre-op diet.
Take this time to have your bubbly Water funeral. Be sure the funeral is complete several days before surgery so you don't have extra air in your intestines. (For comfort reasons). Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App

Blowing it, meant to be obese
Probably every person on this message board has been a chronic yo yo dieter. You get excited at the beginning of a new diet, so motivated! The pounds drop off, you go shopping, all is rosy. Then something changes, and you're derailed. The pounds come flooding back on. You never had a tiny tummy all those other failed diets. This time, you have a tool that you never did before. The tool doesn't give permission to derail like before, because just as your anatomy is permanently changed, your lifestyle must be too. But, for your lifestyle to change, your mind must. This is not just another diet You have walked through a doorway from your old life to your new one. The door needs to be locked behind you. Feel free to explore the new world ahead! You deserve it! I need a helpful support team!
First off, you HAVE made great progress! Your body is doing its part. It is your mind that needs some work. Get your head where it needs to be. Do you have any local support? Even 1 person that is in your corner (that understands the process)? Sent from my SM-N920R4 using the BariatricPal App
