For the Calcium I was told 500 mcg 3 times a day at least 2 hrs apart. It's this the same amount in the one you take and do you know if it would be absorbed differently by taking at different times?

I saw some lotion with before and after pics but it was like over $100 and I'm not sure if you have to keep using it to maintain the firmness. I've been on pinterest to look up ideas. I haven't even had surgery yet lol but that has been a concern of mine.

May 31. But my approval letter says rny and hernia repair. When I first spoke with my surgeon we were planning on gastric sleeve. I'm not sure if it's an insurance thing or due to my hiatal hernia that they approved me for rny. Any ideas?

That's a lot lost already, congrats. A little gain may come after adding food after a liquid diet for a week. I always go up then down when I get my period, that Water weight. Sounds like you're doing a great job.

I was approved back in March but kept going to meetings and weighing in just to keep myself accountable. Just think of it as a lifestyle change for the long haul, you can get back on track and keep going until you've had the surgery.

This is crazy. How do you lose a chart. I sat in the waiting room over 2 hrs once and they were closing and the girl forgot to pull my chart so they didn't remember I was in their waiting room. But this wls journey has been the most stressful thing and crap like this only makes it harder.

Cold feet are normal as time goes by. Keep going through the routine, you can always change your mind later but if you change it back you don't want to start from square one again. If you're like most of us you've tried and maybe list weight but gained it again. You can have some wedding cake, most likely not an entire slice but the 2 bites that your body can tolerate will be fine when you look amazing in that dress and feel great and pain free dancing the evening away. I've been to a few support groups and they vary between 3 to 10 people any given month, but I still go. I'm scheduled for May 31 and I'm scared but excited at the same time, worried about the time off work and having a drain, but Looking forward to less arthritis pain. Like any other major decision, you need to look at your pros and cons. But imagine how you'll feel a year from now.

You may not realize you have comorbidity. Do you have your bp checked regularly? I had hypertension and didn't realize it bc I saw my dr once a year. After going more frequently a few years ago it was discovered. Have them do blood work to check your hemoglobin A1C if you haven't had this done. It was show your average range of blood sugars to make sure you don't have diabetes or pre-diabetic. Also the big one a sleep study I never would've thought I had sleep apnea but if you're tired during the day or feel like you don't sleep well this could be the cause. Any knee or back pain, an xray can show off there's arthritis or a herniated or wearing disc in your back. Sometimes you may have them and not even realize it. Worth looking into with your pcp.

If feeling older than you look appeals to you, take a seat while you read this: A recent study found that women who sit longer than 10 hours a day, combined with low physical activity, have cells that are biologically older — eight years older to be exact — than their actual age.
The study looked at the lifestyles of 1,500 women, between the ages of 64 and 90, who are part of a Women's Health Inititative (WHI) — a national study on chronic disease and postmenopausal women. Researchers found that women who sat for more than ten hours per day, and exercised less than 40 minutes daily, had shorter telomeres — the caps at the ends of DNA strands which protect chromosomes. Shorter telomeres have been associated with increased risk for disease and poor survival, which is why low activity combined with prolonged sitting can contribute to cell aging. The picture was not as bad for women who incorporated at least 30 minutes of daily moderate to vigorous physical activity, even if they spent most of their day sitting at a desk. http://acsh.org/news/2017/01/20/tips-age-fast-sit-more-exercise-less-10753 Well let me inject a few words about this discussion. DNA (Deoxyribonucleic acid) is a molecule that carries the genetic instructions used in the growth, development, functioning and reproduction of all known living organisms. Essentially they are the blueprints of life. Within the DNA are nucleotide composed of one of four nitrogen-containing nucleobases—either cytosine ©, guanine (G), adenine (A), or thymine (T)—and a sugar called deoxyribose and a phosphate group. The order of building blocks in a strand of DNA makes up a "sequence." We can read a DNA sequence like letters in a book. In fact, we know the sequence of the entire human genome—all 3 billion letters. This DNA structure defines each individual, the color of our hair and eyes and skin etc. Most of the DNA is core and very important. But at the end of the DNA strand is DNA that seems to provide no purpose, it is called Junk DNA. But in reality Junk DNA (telomeres) do serve an important function. The reason is that when the DNA replicates, it loses a little of the strand of junk DNA at its ends. Eventually as we age, this junk DNA gets shorter and shorter and eventually it eats into the core DNA. When it does, it introduces anomalies, age related sicknesses. So this article is saying that exercise can reduce the loss of the junk DNA and we can live long healthier lives as a result.

You will probably need a sleep study, EGD, and psych appt for sure as well as medically supervised weight loss classes. But I know my doctor said that some preoperative appts had to be within 6 mos or 3 mos of surgery date. So wait on psych evaluation. But get a sleep study scheduled asap bc this takes the longest.

Did some internet research (which may or may not be valid) and it said that the Biotin will skew your tests as it masks the amount of thyroid you are producing, but it not actually cause any problems with your thyroid. It is Water soluble and you should lay off it a few days before having bloodwork so your test will reflect your real thyroid levels. "It only affects the test results and is not contraindicated." Just be sure your health provider knows you are taking a Biotin supplement. Next will see what the wise and all knowing internet says about Hair loss lasting as long as you are losing weight. I have quite a few points to go and really hope the loss stops sooner than the weight loss.

Well...believe it! I never said it was my main concern...just a small formality I had questions about the hospital guidelines. This post was really directed as a comical moment during stressful times to pre-op women who pamper themselves. I'm not that superficial! As a matter of fact, I ran out of time the night before surgery AND left the polish on. No complaints. Surgery went well. I'm on my way to a much thinner me and I can't wait! Relax & get a mani/pedi...Girl, it's gonna be alright!

May 1 is my last appointment with my surgeon. I will have fulfilled all of my insurance requirements and surgeon requirements. I will sign all of my releases and They will submit to insurance, they said I'm looking at a date mid May or end of May, and my insurance company generally approves in 7 to 10 days. I'm doing a little happy dance right now
