You will be sore, so you can’t exactly jump to solid food if that’s what you’re thinking , but you can do things like yogurt, pintos and cheese from Taco Bell, I purées a peach slice and it was heavenly. You’ll only be able to eat a few bites anyway at that point so it won’t be too bad.

Yes, I had a Cheeto addiction post op, might sound crazy but I could eat a whole bag in a day. I won’t even buy them anymore. If you have access to meetings, it helps to go and even hear from the pre op people to help you remember why you went through this. Think back on the day after surgery when you probably thought to yourself what the hell did I just do to myself and think about how far you’ve come so far. But a support group really does help. I only go when I start to falter and need the help, they have then once a month where I went.

Eventually you’ll be far from goal and people will start telling you you need to stop losing 🙄. Don’t worry, it’ll come. Congrats on your weight loss, I’m sure you feel a lot better

If you don’t start before you probably will after. I walked into the bathroom when they wheeled me to my room after surgery and had started. The nurse said almost everyone starts it when they have the surgery.

Oh yes, I too did the hcg diet through physicians weight loss program and lost and then gained. That frustration is what made me look into surgery options. I had the sleeve 2 years ago in May . I feel that I East normal portions now. Not what I pre-op but a normal portion. For Breakfast my daughter took us out to eat, I comfortably ate 2 silver dollar sized multigrain pancakes, 2 egg whites and 1 turkey sausage link. I was still full at lunchtime, so didn’t eat. For dinner I had a piece of kielbasa and sauerkraut. I don’t feel deprived. I usually have coffee in the mornings. I drink Water or tea during the day. I am no longer losing weight so I’d probably have to make strict diet and exercise changes to lose more, but I’ve kept off what I’ve lost.

You could always say exploratory laparoscopy, where they go in and look to see if there’s something going on. Sometimes people have scar tissue from prior surgeries or sometimes nothing is found. But this way if you need to have say your gallbladder removed later on then you didn’t already use that.

Congratulations! My first thought was what the hell dod I just do, but it was the best decision I’ve made. Take your favorite chapstick and even though it hurts start walking in the halls as soon as possible and just keep doing it. It’ll help that gas to move on out instead of into your shoulder and causing pain. Congratulations on your next big step!

So sorry. I’m a nurse and feel so much better after surgery. Not to make her feel uneducated but maybe if she did know more of the facts about BariatricPal surgery that would help her. Nursing is such a broad field that none of us can be experts in all areas. I’m sure she’s concerned about things such as complications or some worry their spouse will leave them if they lose weight. I would try to explain the medical reasons such as sleep apnea, blood pressure, arthritis, wear and tear on joints etc, risk for stroke or heart attack and that with a baby coming you want to be your healthiest self for both of them. Good luck

I would stick with Water and Protein Shakes at this point. Once you start purée, I was week 3 and the easiest for me was like a slice of peach puréed and Taco Bell pintos and cheese. I remember crying bc I could only eat a few spoonfuls and just wanted to finish a whole cup. Head hunger is very real. I also liked hot tea, especially peppermint .

This year I bought my first pair of knee high boots. I have more confidence now. I like being able to jog and take the stairs at work.

Every so often I have to get myself back on track, I’m not sure about reset but if I cut out breads, Pasta, rice and focus on Proteins, eggs, chicken, salad, Peanut Butter, cream cheese and peppers, etc, I can lose a few pounds and feel less bloated.

My suggestion is to save a clothing item. I saved one pair of jean shorts. Three years out there are days when I realize I’m wearing a size medium but look in the mirror and still feel “fat” Every so often I will pull them out just to put on and remind myself how far I’ve come. It’s hard to change your mindset.

I had some Hair loss but not really noticeable except to my shower drain. I also took Biotin before and after, my co worker had some more noticeable but more so when it’s pulled back you see the thinning, but it’s not really that crazy noticeable I feel.
