Just make sure to chew very thoroughly, and go slow that helps me and at the first sign of discomfort I stop. I fell likeI should be ave to eat more at this point but I'm not going to make myself sick trying to get it in.

I'll tell you what I did. What I took to the hospital...bipap machine, pony tail, chapstick, phone and charger. What I wish I'd also brought... gas x strips. Puree foods I liked Greek yogurt, Wendy's chili and taco bell pintos and cheese. Make sure you have broth to thin out food going in the blender. I preferred the little 6 oz Water bottles because they're easier to handle and won't get warm as quickly since you can only sip such a small amount at a time. I use regular spoons but know to just put a small amount on it. I was glad I only had to do pureed for one week.

Unfortunately I had that for about a week. I found it was worse when I laid flat. Apply heat even if it doesn't take it away sometimes it helped a tad. Walk walk walk. That was the worst part for me. I slept propped up on the couch.

It's hard not to weigh yourself when it had almost become an obsession over the years. I have to physically tell myself not to get on that scale yet. I don't want to weigh myself frequently enough that there's no loss and get disappointed.

Don't be so hard on yourself. You've come this far, made it through the surgery. Focus on getting enough to drink. That may help with Water weight and some hunger. I've read lots of people about gaining when they start eating solid food then they lose again. I'm only 2 wks out so not quite there yet. Don't lose faith.

I got that from the girls I work with. It's like if they could spend one day onside my body. I hurt so bad from the extra weight on my joints I was getting injections and physical therapy for my knee. It's not all about fitting in those skinny jeans lol.

you know, my doctor and nutritionist never said anything about stalls to my group. I learned a or then on here. I've actually gotten alot of good info from this site. They are all so different as well. My surgeon is all like of that's fine I'm not worried just keep trying. His nurse is like what did you tell the doctor, I would-be had you admitted for IV fluids, that's not good. Lol

Oh how about " you can't eat that!"
I just literally spazzed out on my husband because I asked him to pick up some pudding at the grocery store. I get so agitated when people who have not been sleeved , nor have met with any nutritionist, nor any doctors- try to tell me what I can eat or can't eat! I'm the one who just had 85% of my stomach removed! Do you honestly think I'm going to eat any-damn-thing that is going to hurt me or impede my success??? Just shut up already!
    * I think this was more of a vent than anything.*

When you enjoyed shopping for a dress for a relative's wedding....and at that wedding people you haven't seen in a while flip out over how good you look

Also when you run into your ex-husband who you haven't seen in a year and he stammers and says you look amazing

I'm only 2 weeks post op, so I don't expect to be back to normal yet. I just feel like these couple weeks habe been so long. My stomach always feels something, achy, gassy, nausea, not right. I'm just curious when did your stomach feel normal again.

do you know what happens when someone punches you in the eye? The eye swells up, retains Fluid and looks like crap. for a long while. And that was just a PUNCH, imagine having someone reach in and pull out an organ...wait, you CAN! Because that's what happened. lol!

Your body is recovering from a trauma, it's gonna hold onto fluids and doesn't want to let go, it's healing and freaking out. You are still working out the gas in your system, your body is only JUST figuring out how to digest Water let alone function normally or release the fluids and nutrients it's afraid of losing.

Give your body some time to recover. It's totally ok, you aren't a failure except in the fact that you are failing to give your body the time and consideration it needs. You are gonna do great, I PROMISE!!!!

It really does get better each day. I'm 2 weeks out now and when I first came home I did regretted having done this. Then of course my husband kept saying I told you that you didn't need to do this. That didn't help. But I'm feeling pretty decent now. Drink drink drink and don't let yourself get constipated be proactive in taking something.
