cesantan got a reaction from sleevinpops in Two days post-op
I had a RNY done on the 7th. Still a bit weak. Still sore. But over all I'm better.
Hope your recovery goes well. Best of luck.

cesantan got a reaction from tasharss22 in Today is the big day!
I am finally feeling better. Yesterday was pretty tough and most of the day today. The discomfort that I've felt due to the air they pump in your stomach has been my worst night mare. I could barely, walk, talk, move, sleep, breath. I was in excruciating pain.
They changed one of my pain medication and ever since then I've been a lot better. Still in a lot of pain. I still have the gas pains and body aches. But overall I'm much better. Thanks everyone [emoji1374]

I'm not on here much as most of you are pre surgery or going through the weight loss process. I do pop up now and then just to let you know what's doing in terms of living life post WLS.
I'm four years post surgery and have been in maintenance for about 2 1/2 years. When I do come on the boards, I see posts about what to eat, what not to eat, how much weight has been lost, how much has been gained, and other similar topics. When I was in the early stages of my weight loss journey, i read and posted alot regarding those same issues. Now that I'm further out, I don't focus on the details...I just focus on living my life as a normal sized person with all that entails.
I just wanted to post these two pictures to show the new folks that you can be successful with weight loss. Know that while I'm smiling in the before and after pictures, I was not happy in the before shots because of the issues surrounding my obesity. Also know that I have been, and am still in therapy to address my food addiction and the root causes of my obesity. It's my path and know that I'm not advocating that this should be part of yours.
Again, I'm here just as a reminder that once the newness is over, the weight loss is done, and the emotions settle down....this is the reason I had the surgery. It's about health, mobility, and living my life rather than watching from the sidelines.

Hey everyone, so I just got my surgery date. And I must admit I am very nervous and executed.
Initially I had wanted to get the sleeve done but my surgeon insists that bypass is better for long term results. I am looking for long term results but the bypass procedure is a bit more invasive than the sleeve and that works my nerves.

Today is the day. I ended up choosing premier brand Protein shakes. IMO.. the chocolate shakes taste just like the Yoo-hoo brand chocolate milk. So it works for me.
Anyone else starting their diet today ? I can use some recipe ideas.
My diet consist of
3 Protein Shakes
1 high Protein snack
1 meal.

I felt the same way. I went in wanting sleeve but am going gastric due to my health issues. I was really scared but after the classes I had to take it calmed me a bit. I am 4 fays away and I still have those moments where I get a little freaked out. I talk to my support and it helps. I am cheering you on and will send healing energy your way that all goes well.
