  1. I had a RNY done on the 7th. Still a bit weak. Still sore. But over all I'm better. Hope your recovery goes well. Best of luck.
  2. Hello everyone! I am reaching the end of my 4th day after surgery and I must admit, this recovery has been extremely rough on me. I've been in excruciating pain. My entire left quadrant, both upper and lower are extremely sore and sensitive to touch. My ribs hurt, I could barely walk on my own, I can't stand, sit or even move without assistance. I was barely even able to talk. (( I'm not gonna get into details about the gas part.. it hurts to even remember it )) I am making progress.. slower than a turtles pace.. but some progress is better than no progress.. right? *baby steps* I was in the hospital a little longer as well. Not being able to walk was a setback for me. Thankfully there was a Nurses assistant by the name of Charles (( my angel )) who was determined to help me get out of there. I am forever grateful for that man being there. This is just an update on my post-op experience. Don't want to discourage anyone. If anyone could relate and k ow of anything that can help me.. please! Please! Please!!! Let me know. At this point I'm open to anything. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I am finally feeling better. Yesterday was pretty tough and most of the day today. The discomfort that I've felt due to the air they pump in your stomach has been my worst night mare. I could barely, walk, talk, move, sleep, breath. I was in excruciating pain. They changed one of my pain medication and ever since then I've been a lot better. Still in a lot of pain. I still have the gas pains and body aches. But overall I'm much better. Thanks everyone [emoji1374] Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  21. No. Thankfully my date was a few weeks away. My date is set for the 7th of February. And yes he put me on a strict diet 2 weeks prior to surgery. I start my diet on Monday. It consists of 4 Protein shakes, 1 high protein snack and 1 limited meal. My process took 6 months. Insurance requirements. I had to go to monthly weight management clases. I had to get clearance from a few specialties. And attend mandatory support groups. Which in reality, was all great. I learned a lot in the weight management classes and got to see both the good and the bad in the support groups from people who have already done the procedure. The process was a bit long for my liking but very well worth it. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I wish I would of looked through my timeline before posting the same question. I'm also looking for a good Protein shake. I start my pre-op diet Monday. All I'm missing is my protein supplement. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. So on Monday I start my pre-op diet. Which consist of many Protein shakes throughout the day. I've been doing a lot of research on different types of Protein Shakes but I still can't seem to decide. The nutritionist suggest the Protein shake has more than 20 grams of protein per scoop. Anyone has any suggestions they might want to share? I like chocolate flavored anything to be exact. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  25. Here in New York the process takes about 6 months. ( really it depends on the insurance) Monthly weight management clases, 2 support groups required. I had to get clearance from the cardiologist, psychiatrist, and I had to get a Pulmonary ol function test. Then meet with my surgeon to sign consent, then a pre-op visit with my PCP. That's it. My surgery is scheduled for 2/7/2017. Best of luck to you. Wish you well on your journey Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
