96 pounds down in three months

Dont let this site stress you. Tell your story and let it be. 96Lbs is alot in 3 months but it can happen. I lost 75 since April 17th. I eat plenty, I only work out 2 or 3 times a week, and I drink 64 to 100iz of fluid. So nothing major! I havent had any complications, I was able to leave the hospital the same day but i decided to stay overnight. Today I feel great! Everybody is different.

96 pounds down in three months

I started my liquid diet April 17th @ 347 lbs, had surgery the following week. Im currently at 272, so 75lbs in less than 3 months. Its possible, not saying its the best. The human is a strange thing. Everyone is different, but thats why I make sure im not starving myself, I eat healthy, I haven't had any bad food days or bad habit days, I take my vitamins everyday and drink about 70 to 100 oz of fluids. I workout 2 to 3 times a week. I havent stalled yet, but I know its coming. Plus men lose weight differently then women. Honestly I am more concern about how much better I feel than the LBS. I am concern that I may lose more than I want to, but if it happens so be it!

    Help!

It gets better, first few days are hard. No real appetite but a funny feeling in your stomach. Just make sure to get as much liquid in as possible.
  9. When I was on puree and could not eat at home, I would order one of the cream soups from Panera or the Lobster Bisque from Red Lobster. If I didnt take them home to blend, I would just make sure to avoid any chunks of food.

Well 23 More Days until sleeved

Prayers to you all. The beginning can be difficult with some days of uncertainty, but it's worth it. Remember everyone's recovery and progress is different. Monitor what you eat, how much fluid you intake, and how much you workout. Make adjustments as needed. Remember extreme workouts is not always good. I read that alot of people workout 6 days a week, eat less than 1000 calories a day, etc. Which theres noting wrong with that, its just may not be the right course for everyone. Ive changed my routine and diet a few times since my surgery and thank GOD ive continue to be successful. When I stalled I adjust, when I have some type of difficulties I analyze whats going on and adjust. At 7 weeks I workout maybe 3 times a week for an hr, and I try to consume less than 50g of carbs and at least 100g of protein. I think the most important things to remember is High Protein and fluids, low carbs, walk, sip slowly, and make adjustments as needed. SW 343 4.25.17 CW 275

    Extreamly sore back?!

Our bodies are changing from significant weight loss and likely loss of muscle. I was experiencing the same but its gotten better since Ive started lifting more at the gym. I decrease my cardio workout and up'd weight lifting. SW 347 4/25/17 CW 275

    Wife was sleeved yesterday

The day after surgery I was extremely miserable. I would not talk to anyone. The nurses had a hard time with me, but they were extremely patience with me. The next day was better, talking more and walking more. The day after much better. Each day is better, two months out I have no regrets. Everyday is still a challenge, and this is not easy by no means, but I think it was worth those fews day of being miserable in the hospital.

    2 things: exercise and protein

I feel like im losing more muscle than Fat. Ive been trying to intake at least 80g of Protien, but it seems hard to do without increasing the carbs. Im having a hard time with certain meats. I know I need to bump it up to 100g HW 356 SW 347 CW 284 Surgery 4/24/17

Post Op - going back to work

At least two weeks. I have a office job which does require some movement outside and walking around, but I avoided all that my first 2 weeks back. If I could I would have taken 3 weeks. Just the many adjustments and recovery from surgery is alot to deal with and having to work is too much. The pain and working was not a issue at all. It was adjusting to the meds, vitamin intake, sippping water, very low energy, and having to concentrate on my work and employees was the issue. I was so disconnected with everyone for the first week or so.

    New to the group

Im 47, male. Just north of Dallas, in Prosper. I would try Dr. Stowers at My Bariactric Solution. I choose him because WLS is something he has been doing for a long time and thats all he does. Im 6 weeks out today, and I havent had any major complications and recovery is going well so far. As far has your swallowing problem, I would imagine that you pre and post diet may be more strict. Such as extended liquid phase, unless your condition is much more severe. I would give him a call.

    Taste Buds - acting weird

Ive tried my best to stay away from any type of bread/flour product. Im also six weeks out. Yesterday I purchased some Barbecue Pork Rinds to satisfy that crunch need. Its actually a decent snack, considering for .5oz you get ZERO carbs and 8g of Protien. Just have to monitor the fat intake.
  20. Im almost 2 weeks post op. Started the full liquid diet on Tuesday to include cream soup. Every time I try a new soup I love it. I'll have some later in the day, and it taste absolutely horrible. Has anyone started eating something for the first time post surgery, whether you had it before surgery or not, but could not tolerate it the second time? If so did it last forever? It's been the weirdest thing and a waste of money so far.

    Shakes.

Yeah each Dr is different. I only had to do a week of pure liquid. So I can imagine what you are going thru. The only thing I can tell you thats its worth it.

    Shakes.

4 weeks post op....its hard, you just have to push yourself. Try mixing it up a little. Blend it with Ice. Try the Iconic Cafe Mocha. Its a great protein shake with about 20g. Taste just like a Ice Coffee.
  23. Im going on 3.5 weeks. It gets better. Im assuming you are taking your vitamins now, especially B12
