Travel after sleeve surgery
I guess it's a tolerance question. Those who have surgery in Mexico usually fly back to the US within a day or 2.

Pulling out my hair ..
Felt the same way, waiting on approval, after I got approval, and now that I have a surgery date. Luckily I have so much going on with business and personal to keep my mind occupied. Have you started any preparation?

EGD
Can someone shed some light on the EGD process? What to expect, time table, recovery, etc.

How many days off
I'm taking 2 weeks. From what I hear after after 2 weeks it's more of fatigue then pain. I guess if you can take 2 weeks you should.

Then and now pics!
Great job!

Post-opt symptoms-fever/hot flashes
Sounds like a allergic reaction to something. Has anything changed (Meds, food, etc.) I would check with Dr.

Waiting on a date
I was told up to 16 days, but I have BCBS Anthem. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

6 month supervised diet plan
I also have BCBS Anthem. You have to show a 6 mo documented weight lost program, not to say that it cannot be from your PCP and from another source. I would call BCBS and ask them. I would imagine that the surgeon/PCP would have to correctky word each visit to meet a certain requirement. Also each visit has to be exactly 30 days or more apart. So for example if your last visit with your PCP for weight lost was November 5th then your next visit with your Surgeon has to be after December 5th. I am not sure if there a limit to the gap between each monthly visit. But only that it has to at least 30 days apart. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

Is it as daunting as it sounds?
Thanks, thats what worries me, I know reading and experiencing is different. I just wonder if most of the regret is the struggle that passes with time because of the extreme process. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

Is it as daunting as it sounds?
I dont want to sound like I am putting you down but I have to ask because Im close to having surgery and despite some of the negative reviews out there I wonder. Did you not know how hard the journey would be? Were you not informed that you stomach can stretch back? How long did you research? I am asking because I researched since May of last year and without having the surgery yet I think I heard alot of the pros and cons and just wonder if I will feel the same way as you afterwards? Despite you regretfulness, are you losing weight, feeling better anything positive? Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

Need a letter from PCP
Yeah my PCP was against the whole sleeve operation. So we tried the diet for a few months and even thou I did lose some weight, there wasnt much focus on that, it was more of see you in a few months. I want a medical team thats primarily focused on me getting healthy and losing this weight. So ive been on a 6mo diet program with my Bariatric surgeon team and I havent told my PCP yet. Im only one visit away from getting approval. So Im going to let him know on my next visit that Im going through with the surgery and I want his support or I will just have to find a PCP that will. Its my decision and my life. Just let you PCP that you been researching and have been involved in discussions about the procedure. Ive been researching since May 2016, decided to do it in October 2016, and I havent looked back. Hopefully in April ill be sleeved! Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

I failed...I didn't succeed with sleeve!
There are so many great recipes for low carb, and alternative snacks and desserts that are low or no carbs. I guess you will have to push yourself to be creative. Trust me I understand the beer thing. I love dark beer...Guinness, Hefe, which are heavy on carbs. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app

What did you ask the surgeon?
Im doing a 6 mo diet for insurance approval. I have one month to go. Here are some questions I asked but also some I will ask on my next visit. 1. Expected recover time, 2. Single incision (New), 3. Outpatient surgery (New) 4. When approved will I have options on surgery date, as I will have to make arrangements with my job, 5. Vitamins patch versus oral, 6. Gerd and hiatus hernia, 7. Pre op diet. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app
