this is the truth I eat very little, because I am on meds. I would assume that is why I keep a good journal. You do not know me, therefore do not make the assumption I'm lying. This group is supposed to help, so pardon me for unsubscribing you were very helpful. Go look in the mirror before you judge, that is not your call tyo do!

The conversation becomes relevant as people get further out from surgery. I have a good friend who is eight years out from lapband - a seasoned veteran by the standards of Bariatric Pal. She's about 30 pounds away from ideal weight and her band just slipped. And she went unfilled for several weeks. There are options of revision, using medications to jump start weight loss as her band probably has good life left. As we continue to fight obesity, the challenges and conversations do change. Weight loss meds could be back on the table.

I hit a milestone today I am super excited about!
I have finally lost 300 pounds! I have been stalled the past few months and finally lost those last 6 pounds to hit this milestone! I am so thankful to be making this journey.
It still feels like a dream to me. It's crazy how I went from having to be on oxygen 24/7 and hardly being able to cross a room without getting out of breath to being able to walk for 6 miles and still be ready to go out and do other things!
I am loving life right now and wanted to share my excitement at hitting this milestone with you!

I've read about anesthesia affecting the bladder. The surgery also could have been enough of a shock to your system that your regulating systems are a bit wonky. When I needed to pee in the hospital and couldn't I immediately freaked out cause I read anesthesia can paralyze the bladder. The rest of my roughly 24 hour stay it took a little while to start to pee. Now, a week out, I seem to pee very slowly.

Liquid gabapentin is like **** directly from satans ass hole. I take all my meds in solid pill form just over a long period of time.

Still no poo [emoji23] on day three of Miralax. Contemplating the murder and BBQ of my adorable dog.

How much Protein do you manage to get a day? I'm not getting as much at I should, which I know is why I'm feeling fatigued. It's not like sleepy, it's that physical activity is so taxing. I took a shower the other day and then had to lay down to brush my teeth, it was pathetic. I go back to work on Saturday. I'm a nurse so it's 12 hour shifts and I just don't know how I'm going to do it. Makes me nervous to go back!

I just thought this would be fun! If you are pre-op what are some NSVs (non scale victory) you want? If you are post-op what were some NSVs you wanted and did you achieve it?
This might sound weird but the one nsv I want, probably more than any, is to be able to fit into Victoria Secret bras and clothes!!!

I shared with most of my family and just 3 other good friends. My reason is , I was able to loose in the past 30-40 lbs but regained, and I see peoples reaction "She is taking the easy way out" . When you are in the verge of diabetes, Bp and/or cholesterol, you do what is possible to be healthy, and that is my goal. I rather avoid this extra negative comments.

I met with my team yesterday and they are very happy with my progess. I'm down 64 lbs. At 8 weeks. Doc said I'm at 35% when most of his patients are at 20% after 8 weeks. His words "you're crushing this"! Its motivating to know I'm doing everything I can to get and keep these results. A few recent NSV's = running 22 min straight, bending over to tie my shoe, glowing skin and overall wellness. To those just starting, its a long journey but will be worth it. Those in the thick of it, keep going. And those who continue to maintain - keep inspiring!

The first and last love is to love yourself! Never in a million years did I ever picture myself wearing such dress. I loved it and how I felt in it. Amazing feeling to experience. When your confident in each step, it shows and it attracts so many good things.

I had an endoscopy but it wasn't spotted. Maybe because it's only very little. But you're correct whilst they were operating they should have spotted it and fixed it. Irony is, the lady I shared a room with at the clinic had a hiatus hernia and he fixed hers. Only saving grace is it can be fixed :)

    @beebee17

My surgeon also told me no gum. Guess it doesn't digest quickly or completely if accidentally swallowed so can create difficulties. Even after 5 years, it is still strongly discouraged.

Life for me at 7 years is pretty similar to life at 2, 4 or 5 years post op. It's still maintenance. For me, it's been pretty simple. Eat the program most of the time so you can be flexible when you want. Don't graze. Basically, you know what made you fat, Cheri, so don't do that. So I don't.
What will people ask? Loose skin, have it. Much less than I had early on. It rebounds enormously in years one and two post goal. I never wear Shapewear. Want plastics, don't need them. Have a little panni, but in anything but the sheerest leggings it's pretty flat. I'm not bothered anymore.
Restriction is still really strong, but many sleeved shorter times than me say they can eat more than me. Half a burger, I'm out. One slice of pizza, few ounces of Protein, or a cup of Soup or chili - that's it. My hunger never returned.
I'm 5'1" and 116 pounds but I solidly stick between 116-118. I had surgery at 242, started researching the sleeve in late 2009 weighing 286 pounds. I'm down 126 from my surgery date.
My diabetes resolved post op. No more high blood pressure or cholesterol.
I was a slow loser. Slow loss is still loss, I firmly disbelieve that one year nonsense as I took 17 months to reach my initial goal.
Keep pushing, no matter how long it takes you to get there. I had later loss, after a sleeve baby. Your sleeve will work however long you do.
Cheers, and here's to sleeve success. Mine's been amazing.

I've fallen off. I actually gained 20lbs from somewhere. My diet had been steady, my activity steady and then out of nowhere, I found myself indulging way too much. Now I am frustrated as hell and determined to get this weight off. When you have had it off for a while you know the difference. I think it's just not paying attention.

husband and I are on our way. got the fridge stocked with bari friendly foods. not specifically naming our effort (no defined diet) but trying to get back to a very bariatric based diet: dense Protein, low carb, very low sugar, lots of Water etc. Portion sizes measured and for me, elimination of soda. I've done that part several times in my life so i'm ok with it (I generally make the switch to unsweet tea first, then thin that out and eventually go to straight water or water with stir-ins).
I'm so happy with knowing that I am in control and that I have the ability to get this back for myself.
