I had to take all mine out but I was able to put in the plastic retainers. They just don't wat you having anything metal!

July 14th here too!!!! 23 year old from Charlotte,NC. Day two of my pre-op diet. It's definitely not easy but it's going to be so worth it!

That's crazy. How long will you have to stay in the hospital for? I really don't think one week is enough time to recover from such a major surgery. Shoot when I had my wisdom teeth pulled my surgeon told me to take off work for 2-3 days to give me time to heal and for swelling to go down. I actually haven't been told by my dr how long i should be out of work for but I know you're not allowed to lift over a certain amount of weight for 6 weeks and I work with a special needs child who I have to lift so I told work I need off for about 7 weeks.

How does the unflavored powder taste? Is it really unflavored or does it have a funny after taste? What so you mix it in?

Yes we totally have to keep each other updated on our success!!! It's great finding people who are having surgery around the same time so we can motivate each other and support each other.

That's so awesome that you guys are doing it together. Even though it's different surgeries it's still the same journey. You guys will have each other for support and motivation. I have a big support group in my friends and family but they haven't been through what I'm about to go through so it is cool how you guys will be able to understand what the other is dealing with! Best of luck to the two of you!!!!!

Alrighty so I got my date for my surgery and it's going to be July 14th!!! I am so so so so excited... However I may have overlooked a tiny detail in picking my date. I am a bridesmaid in a wedding on July 19th. Just 5 days after surgery. From what the bride has told me it's a small simple wedding and we won't be standing up there with her just walking down the isle and sitting in the front row. My surgeon says I'll only be in the hospital for two days. Is it crazy of me to think being in the wedding is even a possibility? The bride knows the situation and is willing to help me out I. Anyway needed however it is her special day and I don't want to put a damper on it. How did you guys feel so shortly after surgery?

Hello all!!! I will be sleeved July 14th!!! I am having my surgery done through carolinas weight management and wellness center. I live about 20min south of Charlotte. As far as meeting places maybe we could meet at Freedom Park. Lots to do there. We could do a "walking group" or something! Just a thought!

I'm taking 6 weeks off. I am a nursing assistant at a pediatric home health agency. I work with a special needs 6year old who can't really walk so there is a lot of lifting involved. My dr says I can't lift anything over 30lbs for 6-8 weeks. I was really hoping I could go back to work after about a month off but I think in order to use this surgery to its full potential I need to follow drs orders and take all the time off I can. I'm so bumbled about it though cause I love my job and don't want to be gone for that long!!!!!
