    @beebee17 when i first met with my NUT pre-op, she brought up gum - said you should never have any.! i don't remember her exact explanation, something like it could get "stuck

    @beebee17 My surgeon also told me no gum. Guess it doesn't digest quickly or completely if accidentally swallowed so can create difficulties. Even after 5 years, it is still strongly discouraged. Se

I still chew gum, I consider it a public service. I can't stand smelling what people ate for lunch when they walk past me, or sit close by. I just spit it in to the wrapper when I am done.
