    Good going braddah!
  2. Yes, I had the same problem with installing a new version of Flashchat. So I closed the website and came back in later and now i have a different chat room, we have The Lounge, Hollywood and Tech Talk.
  3. Papa, I feel your pain. I lost 41 pound the first three months then got stuck on a plateau. Like you I did everything right, worked out, followed all the eating rules, but the scale wouldnt move. I think our bodies have to take a time out sometimes, well at least mine does. My doctor suggested changing up my exercises. I tried everything, ate less, exercised more, but no change. Funny, but when i ate a little more and exercised a little less, i started losing again. I think I had put my body into starvation mode. Hang in there, You are doing so well, there will be bumps in the road, but just keep going, we will get there.
  4. I use www.thedailyplate.com to track all my food intake, exercise and liquid intake. But like all sites, it only works if you put the effort into it.
  5. I live on the Big Island, I had my surgery done on Oahu by Dr Lapschies at Pali Momi.
  6. You know, i have weighed the risks. I started off morbidly obese with High Blood pressure, Diabetes and sleep apnea. Then just recently my mom got cancer. That really rocked my world, I figured that it would be my turn someday and being overweight would not help my chances. So I made the decision to do this for me. I'm much healthier now and ready to meet the challenge head on.
  7. Interesting article, thanks for sharing.
  8. I stopped taking my diabetes meds right after surgery, my surgeon took me off them. Its been 6 months now for me, my sugar counts are normal and my a1c is 4.6 - Normal.
  9. Debbi, Lets see, I am short, only 5 ft tall, have brown skin and freckles. I'm from Hawaii, so I have a tan all year long. I have white hair and I refuse to color my hair, I think it defines me as the individual that I am. I like to smile and laugh, expecially now that I've lost 52 pounds.
  10. I have 2 ccs in my 10 cc band. I had my first fill back on Feb 29th. I used to have good restriction, but now have none during the day. I'm so glad that I'm getting my 2nd fill on July 11th.
  11. I was banded Jan 7, 2008 and noticed that i started loosing hair about 2 months ago. Others on the site have suggested eating more protein (I was getting 40-50 grams daily), so i added a protein drink to my diet and also started taking biotin. It's slowed down some, i'm hoping it will grow back soon.
  12. Here is a link to the tutorial. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f5/ticker-tutorial-pictures-41782/
  13. Welcome Dee Dee, Congratulations, you are off to a great start. This website has been a great source of support for me too. Good Luck in your Journey.
  14. I know Susan, getting off or reducing Meds are the best NSV ever. I was lucky enough to get off my diabetes Meds right after banding (type 2) now i need to loose a little more and I might be able to get off my High Blood Pressure pills. I just got tested yesterday and my A1C is 4.6 which the nurse said is considered Normal. Normal...Me....Cant wait to have my weight be considered Normal. Great Job.:blushing:
  15. I've lost an elephant's heart and a Chihuahua. If i can lose another irish settler, it would be awesome.
  16. I actually walk on my treadmill with my laptop on the tray and chat on lapbandtalk, while walking for 30-45 minutes.
  17. New NSV today, was talking to my boss and he said, wow you lost a lot of weight and that my complexion was clear. What a great compliment.
  18. Gail, Funny that you should post this thread, I was thinking the same thing this morning. I feel great and my Husband is appreciating it.
  19. I count my calories every day, my target caloric goal is 921 and I track everything I eat on thedailyplate.com. I don't drink caffiene and have only sugarfree stuff. I do eat my protein first. The only think I do different is have a mid morning snack. Oh yeah, I also exercise 6 days a week.
  20. I was banded in January also. Just this past month I started noticing more hair falling out than usual. I've been searching the posts for information and wondering the same thing.
  21. I was eating about 1100 calories a day, then I hit a plateau. Just recently changed my calories to 900 and upped my exercise, now i losing again.
  22. Guess what , you're normal. I also went though the "wanting to chew something" stage during my 10 days post op liquid diet. I even tried chewing sugarfree jello and popscicles. Hang in there, you'll be eating soon.
  23. 1. Having my butt hurt because I lost my cushion :-) LOL 2. Having to have my ring resized one whole size. 3. Being able to stay on my treadmill for 45 minutes without getting winded.
  24. No, I don't think we have been duped. My Doctor made sure that I knew the pros and cons about the band. It ultimately comes down to me whether I eat right and exercise, the band is only a tool. It needs a lot of work on our part. The band doesn't make the choice to eat ice cream or chips, I do. The band is not the problem, its my mind that I need to control.
