Bill0565 got a reaction from ProudGrammy in 9 months since gastric sleeve 130 lbs lost
I wish I had done this years ago. It was a perfect fit for me. I have never been a snacker only a binge eater, my brother had gastric sleeve two weeks before I did and he lost about 30 lbs right away but has struggled ever since because he is a snacker eating often and also drinking calories. If you are a snacker and can't deal with that than gastric sleeve is not for you. I am happy with not having a great deal of loose skin, but I do have some in my lower belly and groin area. Gonna have that skin removed. Skin over my back and arms and legs is just a little loose but not sagging like my lower belly, but I think I am one of the lucky ones with that.,

Had surgery same day, my gas stayed in stomach region, getting better now. Amazing how much gas. I think they use gas to create space to operate, not just to test sutures in stomach. I hope you neck feels better quick. Finished 2 Protein shakes yesterday. Plus good amount of Water

I'm 16 days out and down 21lbs (pre-op appointment weight).
    I'm 5' tall, SW 213/ CW 192.
It's really bizarre going from being a lifelong fat kid to having no appetite. I'm still trying to wrap my head around it all, but am very thankful for a second chance.

Welcome! I am scheduled for October 18th near San Francisco. I started in January and am so ready. I've nearly talked myself out of it so many times but never cancelled. About two weeks ago I hit my biggest anxiety and doubts. I took myself back through my paperwork, onto the forum and watched some YouTube success blogs. I'm ready. My preop was Thursday and I have started a preop diet of no processed food. Walking soon and often will not only alleviate your clot risks but also post op gas pain. Congrats!

I am 3 weeks and 2 days post op. I lost 25lbs during the 2 week preop. I gained 10lbs in the hospital. Ive lost those 10lbs and 18 more since.
I am one of those daily weighers. Once I gained and once I stayed the same. Most days I lose at least 0.4lbs.

There really isn't a norm. I never lost as fast as a pound a day, even though I started out at 50+ BMI. If I had lost that fast I probably would have been crying with joy and gratitude. Even though I never lost that fast, I still managed to lose over 200 lbs and get to a normal BMI, so how fast or slow I lost at the outset really ended up being irrelevant to my long term results. Good luck!

Stalls are a part of the process and they will happen regularly. It is your body needing time to adjust. If you stay the course everything should be fine as long as you have been sticking to the plan.
I know that at 4 months post op i hit my worst stall and that actually required me to eat more an excercise less. (Beleive it or not)
I was stalled for a month. As soon as I added more calories and reduced from an hour of cardio a day to 30 minutes my stall broke and i continued to lose with shorter stalls in between. I finished losing at 18 months post op.

4th day post op, starting to feel human again. Finished two premier Protein shakes. Off of pain meds and the nausea/vomit medicine (it did a good job making me nauseous and wanting to vomit). Just taking Pepcid and mylanta. Walking more.

End of day 3 post op, still hard but much better, got off pain meds, made me want to vomit just looking at bottle. Had my niece put it away so I can't see it. The medicine for Nausea and vomiting is sickening sweet. Trying to put in my mouth with Protein shake crushed ice mix. Increased Water a lot but still no where near 64 ounces, Protein Shake maybe 6 ounces today. Thinking about getting IV to catch up on fluids.

I really don't remember a point in my life where I started gaining weight. I was always bigger with the sentence "she'll grow out of this chubby phase soon" whispered above my head.
Getting into high school I remember having to look for a desk that I could fit into easily, problem was, some classrooms only had older desks and I was left with my gut taking up most of my table.
You would think I would do something, recognize that this wasn't okay. But I was confident, and very social, I had earned a fantastic network of friends. But just friends. I made it to 18 before I had anything close to a real boyfriend. I didn't feel like I deserved more then just one night of a guys attention, I didn't how wrong I was.
The only people that ever really bullied me were my own grandparents, with traditional my figure was the butt of the rude and hurtful joke, and constant scrutiny. Even to go as far as me telling them I was going intertubbing with friends only to have my grandfather literally grab my stomach fat and say "good thing you have your own tube"
I didn't speak to them for over a year after that.
My mom and father were both over weight, my father was fairly active and my mother worked a lot.
Fast food and quick diner dinners and take out was the daily norm for us. Causing food to be what brought us together. The best way I can put it is where other peoples family's went on walks or hikes, or maybe they snowboarded. The could have liked to go hunting! But my family would literally drive for an hour just to go get f*+king doughnuts.
    (That I miss dearly)
My mom decided to have Bariatric sleeve surgery and had amazing success, one night about 6 months post op he tried her hardest to ask me if I wanted to have the surgery too without hurting my feeling.
I immediately said yes and we filled out an application that night
    June 25th 2015. Surgery day.
I felt more prepaid then most others in the room looked. I had a first hand play by play that I had my mom tell me everything was going to be fine.
I don't remember much after changing into the hospital robe, I remember waking up my mom was there, drinking her Protein Shake, like always. I was in pain, it felt like someone had drug me around by my hands and had dislocated my shoulders from my arms.
Every time I swallowed I felt a sharp pain. But soon the pain meds started to help and within three hours I was up and walking, I crunched happily on ice and eventually some apple juice that I swear was made from what ever kind of apple eve ate cause damn.
By the 4th day I wanted food, SOMETHING TO CHEW I had been put on a 14day liquid diet pre op.
And we all know how post op goes so I was stuck with the soft stuff, best thing I've found is a no flavor Protein powder, I have one that has 30mg protein per table spoon, I'd mix a table spoon with some baby food and have it for dinner around week 3. Week 4 I had some sliced turkey brest and part of a piece of orange (not a good plan)
Slowly I re introduced foods and started becoming more active and seeing the lbs fall off.
Today I am 176lbs. I feel happy and beautiful and healthy and I can't wait to see how much farther I'll go!

I am a much more active participant in my own life.
I run the dunes with my kids instead of watching them from the bottom. I sit in the best seats DEAD CENTER of the theater for their performances instead of snagging an aisle seat where I have more room. I enjoy the experience of shopping instead of dreading the fact that I probably won't find something that fits. I take my time at the market instead of wondering who is judging me by the contents of my cart. I've stopped wasting time at WWs meetings, weighing and measuring all foods obsessively, researching the "latest and greatest" diet. I ZUMBA with enthusiasm instead of kind of doing my thing at the back of the room. I network at conferences all day instead of sneaking up to my room for a two hour nap. I don't care if my hair/make up/clothes are perfect when I run to the store -- I actually run out in yoga pants and a t-shirt if I need to.

I've taken back small things in my life that slipped away without me realizing it as I gained weight. I live in a much more carefree manner without worry that my bulk was hindering me physically and mentally.

    It's awesome.
