Hello, i totally get you, i used to be in your shoes, but my nutriologist said to me "your work its to follow my instructions and excersice, dont weight yourself at home, thats my job, if u dont drop weight its me who should be worried" and i did that i locked my weighing machine, and i only get my weight at my appointments, trust me we all wanna see the difference in a matter of days, i mean we are eating less than a baby, and the cravings and our body is crazy in those moments, just give it a little time and you will see the results. In my case i weighted my self 3 to 4 time per day so i was kinda falling into obsession, im doing my job and the weight will drop by its own.

Dont worry, its the best thing you could have done.

wiresandwood got a reaction from Little Green in Is Dumping Syndrome Common
I had RNY in Jan 2017 and I experienced no dumping at all. I did vomit a couple of times early in my recovery due to eating too quickly and eating foods that were too dense, but other than that, I haven't had any issues. I am able to eat basically anything in small quantities - in moderation, of course! I'm not gorging on sweets like I used to, but I'll have a small bite of cake or a cookie every once in a while. Strangely, I rarely have cravings for sweets since my surgery, and I used to have the biggest sweet tooth!

This surgery has been a great tool for me to finally learn moderation, which has always been my goal. I didn't want to become too obsessed with having a 100% 'perfect' diet, because I feel I would just be turning one addiction into another if that makes sense. I feel I can sustain my current diet for a long time without feeling like I'm being deprived or not enjoying food at all. I've lost 121 pounds so far, so it's definitely working! Having RNY was the best decision I ever made. Good luck to you!

Good point. I have always taken Vitron-C since I got home from the hospital. Even with the iron, was exhausted for the first few months.

Maybe check your Iron? My energy was pretty low so my Dr had me add an iron supplement and it really helped. I was getting iron in my multis but I guess not enough.

Yes. This is normal. Your body is burning more calories than you are able to eat. If you are close to losing most of your excess weight, your energy should shoot through the roof for a few months. After than you'll come down some. Just hang in there.

wiresandwood got a reaction from GBLady41 in What do you tell people who dont know?
Personally, I thought I would only tell close family and friends, but I started finding it was actually easier to just tell anyone who commented or asked. I know that won't work for everyone, but surprisingly, I haven't had a bad comment yet. Mostly people just notice my weight loss and say I'm looking great, and if they ask more questions, I tell them I had surgery. It's a hard process, and definitely nothing to be ashamed of!

I am having the same problem. I had gastric bypass on Jan 5th, lost 26 pounds in the first 3-4 weeks, and have only lost 2 or 3 pounds since! This stall has been very frustrating, but I keep reminding myself that this is normal and the body needs time to catch up. As long as we do what we can to hit our Vitamin, Protein, Fluid and exercise goals, the only thing we can do is wait!

Right now I feel basically zero hunger, and I'm just trying to force myself to get in some nutrition! I find it really hard to get in enough liquids and food. I'm sure it'll get a bit easier down the road, but right now it's still a bit uncomfortable.

Finally getting out of the hospital today! I had really horrible nausea and vomiting for the first two days, most likely from the anesthetic. Also some pretty bad pain. I didn't pass gas for the first time until today, so my body still feels like it's full of air. I am feeling better slowly, but the surgery was a lot tougher on me than I expected. I still feel really weak and have trouble walking. Hoping this will all be worth it eventually!

Interesting that most of us are on different diet schedules. I know my hospital says 2 weeks for everyone.

Day 10 of the pre-op diet and I've lost 11 pounds! I'm now down 27 pounds from my highest weight. The loss is really keeping me going. The diet gets easier every single day and even the cravings have been decreasing.
@@KWeilbrenner09 That's funny, my mom also said the same thing to me! My family couldn't believe how good I was when I went to a Christmas party last night with a ton of food around, and I didn't even bat an eye. It's great realizing just how strong you can be!

I'm starting to get really excited about life after surgery. I know it will be hard, but feeling healthier and lighter will be so amazing.
    Good luck everyone!!

You're so right and I remind myself of that all the time so it helps to some extent...I have had a few surgeries but 2 major ones this past year and I flatlined twice and was in the hospital for 2 weeks so I'm thinking that may be a large part of this. ..staying positive about the end result though (just need to get there first) ????

Yesterday I chewed and spit out a single peanut just so I could taste something different than my shakes, broth and Jello! LOL. 2 more weeks to go, but I think I can do it!
