xoxococojay got a reaction from Coachthex32 in Breast reduction- did anyone get one after surgery? If so why?
So now that i'm closer to my goal, i'm looking into possibly having some work done so i can feel great about myself.
I'm definitely buying a bigger butt. But i'm debating on whether or not i should get a breast reduction too. I'm not having pains or anything that would require me to get one. And i'm conflicted because i'm glad they're still intact post op. The reason why i'm actually considering it is because of buying clothes, my waist is a small, but my chest is definitely a large, so it makes buying anything with a button or a zipper a challenge. I'm also afraid that if i do get a reduction then my stomach will become more noticeable.
Below are my before and after photos. What do you suggest i do? (Obviously the two photos on the left are my before pics and the jumpsuit is my after)

It’s the same before and after surgery. I wouldn’t suggest it other than before bed though for obvious munchie reasons/ regain.

If you can tolerate it before, you’ll be fine after

xoxococojay reacted to Creekimp13 in Punishment, Restriction, Denial, Pain....Do you have to be into BDSM to lose weight?
Drives me nuts to read over and over about people who don't think they're doing this process right......unless they're starving (I must have "head hunger" because I'm eating 400 calories a day and that should be enough right? Why am I exhausted and not feeling full?), pushing exercise to the limit, lamenting their lack of restriction, suffering for....well....suffering.
    WTF?
    Seriously? What gives with this?
You know, I started thinking about this today, and it occurred to me that people talk about over-eating feeling like comfort. A comfort habit. A way to sooth pain, cope with stress, Etc. Food=love, kindness.
Is there a psychological underpinning to this syndrome that Loving yourself=food and obesity and Hating yourself=thinness and heath?
Do we HAVE to suffer? Do we HAVE to hate ourselves to feel like we're doing a 180 from that naughty shameful indulgent eating? Must bad children be punished?
There is an authoritarian ickiness to this that completely weirds me out.....that I see over and over and over on weight loss support boards.
Where does self hatred and self punishment lead?
What happens when the punishment is over?
I can't help but think this is a psychological disaster waiting to happen....that ends in a return to comfort habits and a sense of personal failure.
The all or nothing thinking goes hand in hand. I MUST be 118 pounds at the end, or I have FAILED! I will punish myself to get to that magical number where the world is suddenly right.
Sometimes I feel like fat people are their own worst enemies.
Self love...self compassion...slow and steady modification of behaviors...win the race.
It took years and years for most of us to become morbidly obese. Why on earth do we think we're going to achieve perfect behavior changes in just a few months?
I'm not saying we don't need to work like hell. I'm not saying we don't need to recognize and correct the behaviors that are unhealthy and get us into trouble. But why do we have to be so damned cruel to ourselves? What is the advantage of that?
I'm just having one of those moments today where the extremes bother me. I don't want to be that way anymore. I don't want to be someone who eats with no sense of accountability or balance....but I don't want to be a food nazi, either. I want balance. I want self love. I want sanity and tolerance. I'm ok with imperfection. Have I screwed up? Yep. Dozens of times. OMG, you mean I'm human after all? Who knew? But as long as I stay committed...as long as I keep working on good habits, and wake up every day and try hard....it's enough. And so far, it's working out pretty good:)

I think it’s important to remember message board posters are not representative of the population. People who post and look for validation or complain are a specific type. Sorta like how people who review a restaurant or hotel or whatever on yelp usually had a strong reaction—positive or negative—and you don’t hear the silent majority.

It could also be what each surgeon performs. I’ve seen surgeons in my area that only do one procedure, so maybe that’s all that is offered to them that their insurance will cover. Could also be a health risk thing too, i’ve seen surgeons refuse to perform the switch due to complications and recommend either the sleeve or bypass. And some people aren’t really given options but rather told what they need by their surgeon.

Eh i think it depends on the person. In my opinion i think most people that regain aren’t always honest about their habits or how they manage stress or even how often they exercise. I don’t think it’s usually the super strict dieters, i’ve seen that it’s usually the emotional eaters. Almost as if they’re unaware that they still use food for comfort or binge eat late at night sort of thing. Or they dont track what they eat and end up eating to many carbs or processed foods.

So you will have signs of fullness and it varies for everyone. It could be a runny nose, hiccups, burp, tightness or pain in your throat etc.

But for may of us, some of those signs go away after awhile so it’s crucial that you learn to portion everything out and eyeball things, meal prep and learn to totally be ok with wasting food.< br /> For me, i view everything as an is it worth it question- from buying food to clothes etc. it’s easier for me to say no to certain food because i refuse to pay for something and then have it end up in the trash, especially if it doesn’t reheat well.

If it’s something that i really love that isn’t super processed i may order it, ask for a small side plate, portion out what i will eat and take home the rest for multiple meals later. But because of my mentality it almost always rules out fast food and lots of entree salad dishes.

One thing i tried that i love are Breakfast parfait's.

I use fage 0% fat plain greek (taste awful by itself, it's very tart) and i add a scoop of GNC vanilla Protein to it. And top it with my favorite berries. (If you want to add rolled oats on top for a granola like effect knock yourself out) -instant 45g of protein right there.

-premier caramel a scoop of any flavor Protein Powder and caramel flavored coffee - instant 50g of protein

    - i've added GENEPRO to sauces, dressings etc

I've done fruit flavored greek yogurt mixed with any ready to drink protein and blended it with berries and ice for about 50g of protein.

-loco moco over cauliflower rice (pinterest) using 93% lean ground beef, 1 egg and a few tbs of egg whites. (Almost 50g of protein)

I'll add as i think of other things i've done recently.

xoxococojay got a reaction from Frustr8 in Should weight matter in a relationship?
I think it depends on whether or not you were at the same weight when you met.

If i met a guy and he looked a certain way when i met him and then years later, he’s as big as a house, chances are i’m probably not going to be attracted to him anymore. It’s just a difference from what you were used to.

But if you meet someone and you’re already over weight, then it’s kind of like who cares, obviously the person dating you can see that and it doesn’t bother them.

I will say for me personally since having surgery i would not be willing to date someone that is really really over weight because our lifestyles are different. I don’t eat out very often anymore and i’m always in the gym which takes away time from other things.

Also, i totally get how you feel. I didn’t know anyone who had wls before i did either and i didn’t tell my family until the day before because they were not supportive either. I had surgery about 1 yr and a half ago and i couldn’t be happier. Welcome to the group!

    I’m jay btw.

Just add it in 2-3 days per week and lift weights the other days. That way you’re still toning too. You can also wake up earlier and do insanity in the morning and do your other routine in the evenings. I did T-25 and i love it. I also do boxing and heavy weight lifting.

I don't usually rant but I can't help it this time,
This Saturday someone older ,whom I respect , approached me to try to pry information out of me on if I had WLS.

First I'm super private about all aspects of my life so the fact that I didn't tell them should be a hint that I didn't want to have the conversation.

Second this person is Morbidly Obese and battling diabetes etc and could benefit from this surgery but I say nothing as it is not my place to play prophet for WLS.

Third they tried to counsel me on weight loss now and what not to do, i.e. Not to lose anymore weight, don't understand why I did it, etc...

HOW DO YOU EVEN DEAL WITH THIS?!??

My breast reduction was the BEST think I ever did! One surgeon wanted to give me implants, but the other one had a great line...."you have enough material to work with!" I have beautiful B cup breasts and I love them. Easy recovery. They removed 150 grams from one, and 9 from the other to get them to match! So happy with them 3 years out.
Not so happy with my tummy tuck...huge scar and it has never felt right, plus I couldn't exercise for 3 months and I gained some weight back.
