P3s! I love those things. Make sure you're cleared for nuts, and watch the ones with dried fruit as they have 100 more calories. But I recommend them - I have 1 for Breakfast every day!

I'd personally tell my husband to kiss my butt and then I'd help him pack. His insecurities shouldn't block your path to good health.
He might prefer heavier women, but I prefer smart confident men.

rolosmom7 got a reaction from Miss Impala in Not telling anyone. What do you say?
I told my family with the exception of my brother and sister in law. My mom told everyone in the world, but my dad and stepmom have kept it to themselves.
SIL asked yesterday why it was taking me so long to eat (as the remainder of my family wolfed down 2 plates). My stepmom told her I had to take small bites. SIL replies "but why does it take so long?" SMom then says "if you took tiny bites you'd take a long time to eat too"
SIL is crazy. Other than that, it's just no one else's business. I've had several surgeries for endometriosis, so it was an easy cover.

I'm wearing new pants today and noticed they felt somehow different. I figured out it's because they're actually touching my butt instead of hanging off! Isn't it funny how used we can get to wearing clothes that are a little too big after surgery?
In other news, I am about 1.5 pounds away from onederland. So close I can almost taste it!

rolosmom7 got a reaction from katanne in What are you most excited for after WLS?
The energy I'm getting. I can cook dinner every night, and not be exhausted. I can take my dogs on long walks. My plantar fasciitis is so much better. Our house has never been so clean! I used to only have energy for work, I'm a bit of a perfectionist so they got 110% of me. Left nothing for home. That's all changed now!!!!

I still take mine with applesauce. 11 weeks out. I've tried yogurt and pudding which are ok, but I always go back to applesauce.

rolosmom7 reacted to higher in Eating normal as in pre surgery normal
I'm 5 months out. I don't eat the way that was "normal" for ME pre-op because I ate too much crap but the way I eat NOW is normal for skinny people. Small portions, hold the bread, no dessert- that's the "normal" lifestyle for all the skinny Manhattan ladies I work with. And I have wine at least once a week. So it depends what you mean by normal I guess.

Something ironic is that often the portion we can eat is indeed the serving size. This doesn't hold true for everything, but servings are often 1/4 to 1/2 cup. Just something I find interesting.

People eat around their sleeve by eating get sliders and trash food. Also by grazing.
Almost no one is regaining by pounding down steak or grilled chicken breasts. They start eating carbs and go full bender on them. Then add in drinking calories and yeah it's easy to slide right into regain.
I'll probably never have a 12 or 16 ounces steak again but no one should be eating that much steak at one sitting so the fact I can eat a normal portion is fine.
